I really looking forward to Saturday. Can't wait to be gravely disappointied in the ending or the cliffhanger for a movie I won't be able to see for 2 years, long after I've stopped caring for the franchise.
lol I think I'm going hate wasting my time watching this anime
been watching Shigatsu also, this really blows compared to it lol
I'm watching it for my yearly mecha fix since I don't really care much for Gundam, but between Aldnoah Zero this year and Valvrave last year, I think I might just force myself to like Gundam at this point if I want to watch some decent mecha anime.
That or rewatch Code Geass R1 or Gurren Lagann every year.
That ending was so disappointing that I actually wish Slaine had just won a killed everyone. That's how bad I thought it was.
Details brah. I need to decide if I'll watch the final episode.
fight is on going
pew pew pew, earth fodder dying
slaine rallies his troops and tells them to surrender to earth while he goes down with the moon base
slaine's guys decide to go back and fight while moon base is exploding
slaine sees inaho and decides he wants his final fight
slaine's group is fighting, while earth troops suddenly get good and put up good fights
slaine and inaho fight ends in an inaho victory but inaho decides to save slaine because hime-asshole asked him to
small time skip - peace, hime giving everyone aldnoah, she's still with that other dude that did nothing to deserve anything
slaine is now magneto, imprisoned in a cube, inaho visits and tells him that hime told him to save slaine, slaine cries
fin
sorry for the terrible formatting, I almost died of disappointment typing it out
edit: the only redeeming moment was seeing el dorito with her long hair down

^ Sums up my thoughts.
It's a stretch but I thinkLet's not forget that.Harklight and Barry die offscreen attacking the Deucalion, Slaine is scapegoated for plotting the assassination and starting the war with his death being the catalyst for peace, and Lemrina not even appearing in the timeskip epilogue
Yeah Slaine just going 'welp that's over' was kinda lame.Wow that was fucking lackluster. Slaine just gives up. Dude was clearly not cut out for the villain role.

Just saw the first episode. So far the hype I had has been fully justified.
I still don't know how much of the writing was handled by Urobuchi himself, but you can clearly see the Butcher influence all over.
Character shows signs of optimism and general love for humanity: dead (though I'd say odds are good that it was a body double ala Padme)
Cynical alcoholic/smoker (in this show's case, it's alcoholic) with prior history of the main threat
Speeches about how the opposing side has their own ideals and how they shouldn't be taken lightly
Cool-headed, possibly emotionally broken main character
The bullied character (Slaine...I can already tell he's going to be Urobuchi's punching bag in this series, as I already found him more sympathetic than Inaho
The soundtrack is also incredible so far.

It's a stretch but I think.Lemrina does appear, with the doctor, you see the wheelchair and bun like hair

Eddelrittuo with her hair undone was way cute tho. Basically chibi-hime.
I kinda liked that. Him being the villain never made much sense, so I welcomed the return of a more S1 "sane" Slaine.
That's what I thought at first but going back and looking at it again, who else could it be?Oh that was her ? I was just wondering "who the hell is this girl and why is the camera focusing on her."
I'm okay with this aside fromMy predictions for the sequel if there is one.
The new season or whatever begins by setting the scene of what's going. It is noted that Lemrina has been gone some time.
Dark forces at play. Cut to Inaho having some kind of premonition.
Out of nowhere all hell breaks loose as the rebuilt moon base is blown up and several Orbital Knights are wiped out by a new force.
Turns out the Ancient Civilisation is back to reclaim the power of Aldnoah. Several coordinated attacks hit Earf. Asseylum is targeted but saved by Inaho because reasons.
Meanwhile the force descends upon the prison facility keeping Slaine imprisoned. Obviously he resists at first but then he sees the familiar faces of Harklight and Barry as well as his old man. Space magic is the reason they're all alive, of course. Slaine declines to go because he's looking for redemption.
Something, something drama. Asseylum is eventually taken and the only way of finding her is the medallion Slaine has hanging around his neck.
Inaho is then tasked to team up with Slaine to go rescue the princess. Both of them try not to kill Cruhteo when he begs them to bring Asseylum back.
Slaine has some kind of chip or whatever in his head that will detonate if he tries anything funny.
Commence the new season.
Shit, that actually sounds pretty good to me.
I'm okay with this aside fromHarklight and Barry. Cmon man I know it was offscreen but they were basically bombarded to death

so what was the meaning of aldnoah.zero we were supposed to find out in the show again?
so what was the meaning of aldnoah.zero we were supposed to find out in the show again?
Was justice done even though the heavens fell?
Ep: 22
Asseylum: "I do not need a reason to save someone."
Lemrina: "Such arrogance...the suffering of those you save never enters your mind, does it?"
Who knew that would have been the perfect summary of the ending.
Slaine would be better off dead, to be honest. Right now he's in an isolated prison (probably for the rest of his life) with no one to talk to except one visitor occasionally (even normal prisons have other prisoners to talk to). Plus even if he eventually got out, both sides of the war blame him for everything related to war despite it not making sense. A Terrian whipping boy of a Vers Count somehow planned the assassination of the princess with residents of a planet he hasn't been to since he was 5 years of age or so? Makes perfect sense. The only named people on his side are now all dead (willingly scarified themselves too), with the exceptions of Eddelrittuo and Lemrina who both most likely think he's dead.
People who hate Slaine should be happy, this is way worse than death.
edit: Final episode script cover, and what I suppose is a small gift they gave everyone who worked on the show (if anyone can read/translate it, that'd be nice, thanks):
