IMO, even Aloy design is way better than any female character I've seen so far in TLOU2.

And even this character was given a manlier look. The dutch actress, Hannah Hoekstra, is beautiful. The prevailing narrative by the idiots in charge of the media, and game design for that matter, is that a beautiful woman is not a good protagonist, you have to square that face up, get a man-frame on there, chisel the jaw, etc. Not just a regular man's frame, but a buffed out dude, you know because all men are hulking beasts.

They erroneously believe that a woman has to adopt male characteristics to be strong. In the end, their world view is worse for the women out there, it doesn't place value on them, their beauty, their intelligence, etc., unless they are operating like a man. It is the difference between Angelina Jolie's "Salt" and Charlize Theron's "Atomic Blonde". A powerful individual plays to their strengths, regardless of being a man or a woman.

This delusional and twisted fantasy hits me in the face every time I play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The in-game female characters look hella manly. I know what the woman behind Mara looks like (Alex Zedra), and it ain't no man.

Yeah, thats why in games i tend to like japanese female characters more. For all the complaints some people put out about their skimpy clothing and whatnot, they usually have far more depth than western ones.
There's so much obsession with making the character a token forf some "strong female lead" idea, or a "representation" for an entire gender (as if thats even possible) that they forget to make those characters human.

Correct, except the video leaks don't show them dying, but just super beat up and breathing. Then the video fades out to black.

Another rumour (written) says the plan is for Ellie and Dina to regroup as a family later on, but Ellie eventually ditches family life to avenge Joel. Which is what leads to Part 3.

Somewhat unrelated to spoilers, but I know everyone says the graphics are great, the animations especially, and i'm sure technically its really good, but something about what I have seen, the colour they used, the art style, the backgrounds/environments and whatnot, makes me think it looks like a cartoon. Not a kids cartoon or anything, but very much a product of being a video game. It all feels washed out somehow. Maybe its 'cause my brain thinks the lighting is bad or something, im not entirely sure.

As for the leaks, thankfully I actually wasn't a huge fan of the first game. I mean it's decent, I played it twice and it's a typical Naughty Dog linear movie-game. The story is interesting and well-executed, but im not a mega fan saying it was one of best games of all time. I prefer the vibe of Uncharted of the modern Naughty Dog games, it has more charm and fits the unrealistic gameplay a little better. But it's still sad if it's not as good as the first by a long chalk, if indeed that turns out to be the case. Feels like they didn't really know what they wanted to do for a sequel but sales of the first game dictated that there should be one, so we end up with a Walking Dead reject script being the basis for the whole plot, or so it seems thus far.

A revenge plot isn't anything special. The majority of action and RPGs have some kind of revenge plot.

But for a SJW laden game having Ellie leave her family (including a kid) to fulfill her selfish "gotta get even" attitude is something unique.

Who knew in a cruel world with zombies and crackheads in every alley, you'd just get up and dump family.

Kinda convenient that the entirety of this "story" is the stuff shown in the leaks, as if that's remotely enough to carry a 30+ hour game!

But hey, this type of ultra-reductive stupidity has characterized so much of the commentary it almost feels redundant pointing out how worthless it all is.

I mean, for one thing its a game not a movie, meaning it absolutely needs minute-by-minute goals and action, not just a handful of plot highlights!
