AMD Radeon 9070XT review thread

Weirdly the 4K average is a lot closer to the 4080. I presume it's some kind of memory bandwith constraint, I'm no expert.

And yes these benches are from Hardware Unboxed.

Yeah, they perform better in 4k but this data is not that relevant to most gamers. Hardly anyone (outside of 4090/5090 users) play at native 4k, so 1440p data is far closer to resolutions people will be using with DLSS/FSR4 (1080p, ~1200p, 1440p).

Fair enough, but I play everything in 4K on my 7900XT and it has never broke a sweat. This is a 4K card.

850€ euros in Portugal, the 9070XT from Gigabyte.

The cheapest 9070XT I can find is 779.90 €, from Powercolor.

9070 landed on 769.90€. The cheapest one is from XFX - 644.90€.

That's 935$ I paid ~3600pln for 4070ti super in September.

Edit: they are already sold out, lol.

Whelp I am fucking done.

Maybe Black Friday 2026 when the card is almost two years old.

This shit was sold before they ever ticked the websites over. I had a feeling when there were no pre-orders that this shit was sold off in backroom deals.

I doubt it's sold out.
Every website I'm checking is having issues, which means they are being hammered and also still rolling out the product pages.

Never mind again, all the cheap 9070 cards are gone and only the €900+ models are left. Graphics card market is indeed a joke right now, it’s clear supply far outstrips demand and all the companies involved are going to milk it as much as possible.

I managed to get one. And I dilly dallied signing in to Paypal Credit for several minutes.

It was there, it didn't go from 'coming soon' to 'out of stock' in one refresh like the 3080 FE did.

I got an order through at Newegg for Powercolor Reaper within the first minute, they confirmed it a few minutes later with a shipping date of 3/11, then 5min. later they cancelled it due to insufficient stock. (referring to Newegg's website order menu).

Bestbuy's XFX msrp model was sold out within 1sec.(clicked first second, into queue, sold out by 30sec.).

Total paper launch.

The Best Buy XFX was gone so fast that the in-stock notification I set never popped.

Too bad I'm not in the market for a GPU upgrade. My microcenter has 25+ (their max limit they show) in stock of every brand at MSRP. Seems like they got a good shipment of them.

I wonder how the Sapphire 9070 XT Nitro handles heat during heavy gameplay since it hides the power cables inside under the back plate

This has to be scalpers mopping up any stock that could interfere with them selling their other cards for $1100+.

Speak of the devil...

Fucking typical lol. I added the standard model to cart by impulse and then the whole Overclockers site 404s me and shoved me in a queue that doesn't work.

lol I just checked 5 different amazon regions for the exact same card sold by amazon itself (I only changed the country top level domain in the URL nothing else, so it's the exact same), and there's literally different prices

ASUS RX 9070 XT 16GB TUF GAMING OC

FR = 1249
BE = 1259
UK = 1232 (1035 pounds)
DE = 899
NL = 3520 🤣

Yeah, as always with AMD some people were too optimistic. BUT I think overall 9070XT is a very good GPU and worth buying IF the price is right.
Considering the price, it's good enough, I suppose. AMD has addressed the biggest issues (RT performance and FSR image quality), so finally AMD folks will not be missing much, but still, if I had to choose between the 9070XT and Nvidia's GPUs, I would still choose Nvidia. The 9070XT only wins on price, so if the AMD card ends up costing similar to the RTX5070ti then the AMD card doesn't make any sense, because the 5070ti is better at pretty much everything.
