Hilarious. This one got me...

I thought it must have been one of Kit's free-lovin' commune conquests watching the kids. It seemed strange how the camera stayed on her and she wasn't shown again though.

Love these recaps. They do them for Teen Wolf as well, it makes watching the show twice as awesome.

Yeah I used to read them on TV.com, the teen wolf ones were just as hilarious. :)

The name teen wolf instantly made me think it was a shit show, but I was pleasantly suprised at how each episode got better and better, the show has excellent pacing.

Great finale. Except... they didn't explain the Bloody Face imposters from like Episode 3. Why were they there?

This was another reason I figured there was going to be an element of Lana making shit up to sell books. I figured that those early ep cold open scenes would've been from some sort of cheesy horror adaptation or something.

Could somebody tell me what the hell happened with Alma and Grace? I know Alma "died" (however it was), but what about Grace? Did she just run away leaving him with her baby?

I enjoyed the finale quite a bit, but I'm really baffled Grace's arc ended just like that.

Did you miss the part where
Alma dramatically axe murdered Grace
?

THE FUCK

Yes, I did miss that.

What the heck. Time for a rewatch.

Edit: The YouTubes tell me that happened during the previous episode. Makes sense. I was dead tired when I watched it, so maybe I dozed off for a minute or so. Shit sucks :(

I really enjoyed the finale....dare I say it was decent drama. I wouldn't want the show to travel down this road too often, but it was great for wrapping up the story. Very excited for next season.

I think that it's guaranteed already that Jessica Lange will be back again? Obviously excited about her. Wouldn't mind Lana and Mary Eunice back either. I think I've had enough of Kit, after two seasons, I'm not so sure that guy has the chops.

The friends I watched the episode with also claim they saw her at the wedding, I tried to find her but I couldn't.

Could she just be a Nanny or something? Or Kit's "current" girlfriend?

I actually thought that this was supposed to be the biracial child all grown up? I thought they were just doing some weird time jump type thing. Didn't they immediately cut to the kids staring out the window? She looks like she could Alma/Kits kid. I may need to watch the scene again, but that's what I thought while watching the episode.

Even Peters, Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, and Taissa Farmiga are all confirmed for season 3.

EDIT: Actually, I think Farmiga is still in talks.

Asylums are the most boring of all horror settings as far as I'm concerned, so I'm not enthused for this season. I'll try and keep an open mind but this seems like a step backwards for the show (and it was already behind).

^^ This is what I had to say about AHS before season 2 aired. I just finished the finale, and I'm glad to say I had a completely opposite reaction the whole way through.

Very, very entertaining season. Brilliant and crazy in the best way possible. Give Jessica Lange all the awards. ALL of the them. I'm reading through the thread for the first time, so no in-depth review at this time. But this is seriously one of the biggest season-over-season improvements for a show ever.

Bring on season 3.

Most horror stories that are set in asylums tend to focus on some ancient entity/monster/ghost that haunts the place but AHS sort of deviates from that cliched trope and used other cliched tropes and threw them into this setting and they sort of work. Rather than let the horror element be a manifeistation or personification of the setting, AHS brings together a whole set of characters that just happen to be flawed. This makes the show more about its characters rather than have them be mercy at the weak supernatural elements that are often seen in many horror movies where the setting is the horror. The Asylum is only like this because of the actions of these characters and that makes the story stronger when they don't have evil location just because. The characters are not cannon fodder for the often larger but rather empty evils of the usual Asylum plots you find in other stories.

Connie Britton was HORRIBLE. I don't understand why so many people loved her. She looked sedated for most of the season and her "responsible mom" act was ridiculous and fake. Dylan played the douchebag, but I couldn't muster the smallest amount of sympathy for her.

So what was the hint for S2 in S1? I completely missed it, unless it was the fact that the wife was commited to a mental institution in S1? That seems like a rather big plot point for a hint...

Wait, one of those screenshots reminds me... Okay, Kit was cleared of the BloodyFace stuff, but how was he scot free of the assault on or even killing of the cop in his office?

Great season. Liked it more than the first for sure. Really dug the whole nun angle. Liked Lily Rabe (Sister Mary Eunice) a lot.

Yeah, she was fucking horrid and so was Dylan McDermott.

I feel like I'm in the minority of people who liked the first season more than the second. I just marathoned the whole series with my roommates and I felt a lot less interested in Asylum compared to the first season, mostly because I didn't really care as much about the new characters compared to the family in the first season.

Yeah I can't stand her. Just something about her.

Has it been mentioned previously that a user on here, Kitchen Motors I think?- looks just like Zachary Quinto (Dr. Oliver Thredson) :p

Kinda cool, because I use to chat with you guys on the tinychat, and instantly thought of you when watching this show :lol

There's a pretty nice interview with Sarah Paulson about Season 2 and 3. Details are quite sparse, but I think we missed it in the hype of the finale. She's so cute :3

  • The eyebrows line Lana belts out in the beginning was based on Paulson's make up artist's experience with Paulson herself.
  • Lana's role was above and beyond what she was expecting. She is very thankful.
  • Her make up took FOUR AND A HALF hours to apply
  • The scene between Paulson and McDermott was the last thing they filmed.
  • Cast members got to choose their costume (Grace's actress asked for a tie on her asylum coat to accentuate her waist) however Paulson missed the memo and just got a smock.
  • Sarah loved the opportunity to dress up in all the later scenes
  • When Sarah signed on for the role, she knew up till the Aversion therapy scene. She didn't know anything past that until they started working on said episodes.
  • She has definitely signed on for Season 3, however claims she doesn't know anything.
  • She talks about how Ryan Murphy is the only guy she would ever "go blind" for something
  • She hints that she might play someone totally evil and devilish - though this is her saying that based on the idea that Murphy casts people in opposite roles between seasons.

The naked dude that Lana had to... stroke... during the conversion therapy should be in the show next year. He was pretty good looking.

I mean, it's great that so many people are returning for season 3...but I wish they would announce some new actors already.

We only have Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Taissa Farmigia and Jessica Lange confirmed thus far.

Given that the new season is said to be very much female focused and "evil glamour", I have a feeling we're pretty close (if not already there) to the end of the returning actors.

I'm happy for Zach Quinto to be returning if they totally shake things up with him. I'm kind of sick of him playing a weirdo villain since he did it in both of the seasons.

But I do agree that I want to see some FRESH actors join the show. I still want ALL of these people to get a look-in though. >_>

I'm intrigued to see what the writers had in store for that character. It was originally meant to be played by Chris Zylka and play a much more significant role but then he dropped out of filming because he wasn't comfortable with shaving his head.

As such the writers cast someone else and then just reduced the role considerably. You do see said character standing around at times throughout the whole series, but I do wonder what they had in store for him.
