Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

I went to a few stores yesterday and surprisingly everyone was well stocked. None of the rarer Amiibo of course, but it was nice to see displays that weren't mostly empty. I'm happy to report that I still haven't caved in and bought more of these things. I told myself I was only going to get 4 and when Bowser gets released I'll have my 4. The temptation to start collecting has been really strong at times, but I managed to pull through. That being said, hurry up and ship my Bowser Amazon. I need it.

Hope if they do something amiibo related with Club Nintendo in Feb I have enough for it. I only have a relatively meager 700 =\

I'm not sure...maybe some others will follow suit but I would think you really can't go wrong at that price if you need them. $3 each though is insane.

If you can get them in store to forego Shipping costs I'd get them now. How much lower can they actually go without being another slip-up? $6.99 is probably the lowest you'll see stores drop them to. If that. Frankly I don't see anyone ever going under $7.99 but on the rarest occasions.

Looks like they've hiked the price to £15 again.

But they have Wario in stock so I was able to pre-order him! So I now have all of the new waves pre-ordered.

Might jump on this if the target tomorrow is a bust... I'm iffy about placing an order then finding our 2-3 weeks later they had to cancel it
 
GAME and their price hiking *sigh*. Probably noticed massive orders on those selected figures (and stock allocation, maybe) and hiked accordingly.

Got all my orders in for normal price, though.

I've been saving up all my codes forever, so if there aren't any good rewards near the end I might get some extra stuff for you guys. :)

We all know how NoA is. Might be amiibo bookmarks.

Haven't received any shipping notifications yet regarding my orders.
Toon Link was preordered mid December on amazon, Rosalina is coming from shopto.

I'll probably get them late, unless anyone knows if Toys-R-Us are breaking street dates?

I'm kind of tempted to get a Villager and WFT though. I told myself I was only getting characters I like, but the collect-em-all mentality is getting to me lol.

Why no Pit ;-; I got Marth in that rare restock EB Games once had at 7am but it's tempting to get another for my friend. Do they ship to NZ?

I actually don't care if the Pit is that damaged. I was gonna take one apart anyway for the base (wishing the figure itself isnt that damaged).

Yup, got the same emails. Thanks for the heads-up re: Wario too - preordered him for £10.99, so that's me with orders shipping or preorders locked in for all of the Amiibos released to date :-)

WHY

Any Oceanic amiibros willing to sell me a Pit? I'd rather pay extra to a Gaffer than to a scalper. I still have my Pit from GAME coming in but it's gonna take a while and I'd rather pay for two than to take a gamble again and miss out on my main.

Hang in there, you'll find someone! Probably when you're least expecting it. I'm a woman, and I actually feel lucky to have found someone who supports all of my weird obsessions (like Amiibos, for one). I also love anime and video games, and believe it or not went through a number of people who thought those were silly time/money wasters. It's going to sound silly, but I found my husband through a MMORPG (not purposely -- which is why I think it'll happen when you're least expecting it!). In July we'll have been together for 8 years (we just got married a few days before Christmas) :)
 
Jeez still no wave 4 or mario series amiibo pre orders anywhere except game in the UK... pretty much just want Pacman and Toad (who I may cancel depending on how extensive the content he unlocks is). Possibly Lucina and/or Robin... I'm getting bled dry!

ShopTo put up the mario party 10 amiibo bundle, but nothing separately. Hopefully they will today.

Should get my Ike tomorrow :D

Yeah, I have no real worries about getting the figures in general. Amazon.de, amiami, whatever it takes. But... I would really like an American packaged Ness. If only for the novelty of it being an EarthBound item in this day and age.

You cant save coins in NA. They expire after two CN years. :
 
Also recd notification from Game UK about the price bump. Only one I was able to order before was Robin, though.

Just a bump/FYI:

While Lucina's not in stock, the Classics/Mario Party line are accounted for, as are Pac and Charizard.

Edit: Robin's gone again, too

I've been following hotukdeals for over a year and never has the top 10, especially the gaming top 10, been this saturated with amazon.de/.fr/.it/.es links - I think amiibos are responsible for exposing foreign Amazons. Those dubious on importing have seen it work for cheap amiibos and are now willing to import much more expensive items like consoles.
 
On my break, I went to a toy store in Belgium (Europe) just now and they had them available already (bar Rosalina). It surely itched to take a Lucario, Sheik and Ike already (they had only one of each there), but I pre-ordered them somewhere else. And they were 1/4 more than where I pre-ordered them. Arghh, what to do.... :( Don't want to miss any...
 
So are Amazon UK not stocking the new waves then?

Game are already sold out of preorders for Robin, Ness and Lucina. The 3 I fucking wanted.

Got Pacman and Wario though so not all bad.
