I'm honestly surprised by how well Amiibo seem to be selling. I knew plenty of people on gaf and hardcore Nintendo fans in general were planning on buying at least 1, but I didn't expect sellouts.
I haven't see any amiibo commercials on tv, but I guess Nintendo is hitting their audience somehow.
I hit up a local figures place for Warhammer stuff, found the right paint for Link (green) and Pikachu (black, yellow) to fix some blemishes I noticed. For Pikachu, I fixed his weird coloring on the years and tail.
Anyone bought amiibos in sainsburys?

And one of their Skylanders/Infinity displays for comparison. Yes, one of. There's another too, it's smaller but was crowded so I couldn't really take a pic.

Chû Totoro;140974648 said:Mario Maker DLC tied to Amiibos could perfectly do the trick but once again I find it stupid that people are complaining that Nintendo didn't hide more content behind these figurines and ask for a Skylander / Disney Infinity approach. Be prepared because if they listen to some stupid suggestions they could make an almost empty Pokemon game (see Disney Infinity or Skylanders without figurines) and make it only really fun and playable with Pokemon Amiibos.
When is the smash japan release?
December 6.
They're getting the first and second wave of Amiibos that day.
A completely free eShop title that does nothing without at least one amiibo is what we need. Offer a SKU in stores too where people can get a disc with a couple of amiibo and we might see them getting more shelf space.
I also got a Kirby (just look at that cute chubby ball!) who appears to have some extra touch up above his mouth xD

Now I need to figure out some cool names - I'm thinking K-Puff for Kirby, but not sure about the other two, any good suggestions?
I've personally went with Kiirbro. No regrets.
Where is this? My TRU has a whole 8ft section crammed full of Amiibo and an interactive display.Toys R Us amiibo display

Had some friends over, we played 8 player smash with everyone having an Amiibo partner. ..it was amazing.
They maxed at lvl 50 in one day and they became considerably better than some of us. My sister wants to get better at smash so she'll be training with her amiibo.
Either GAME had completely sold out of Amiibos or they are lousy at displaying them. Either option seems plausible.
Sainsbury's had a good selection and I grabbed a Samus.

Good thing is these should basically end up being pure profit to Nintendo. The question won't be IF Nintendo makes a profit on these, but how much it.

Eh, turning a profit on a new initiative for a couple of quarters only to have them reduced to bargain bin/phased out isn't really a great long term strategy. These need to have the staying power of Skylanders and Disney, and without any games to back them up they don't.
