Same, before I knew it, Link and DK where drying up in my area. And since I refuse to give TRU my business, I had to shop Amazon and risk Link and DK coming in damaged.

I realised that I just can't be bothered with this anymore, couldn't get a Ness preorder anywhere, and haven't got enough space to store these things anymore.

In the US at least; Peach, DK, and Yoshi have all dropped by $3 each so it's a good time to pick them up.

I was just thinking to myself... if the Wii U get's an OS update which has themes similar to that of the 3DS, Nintendo should offer 1 free theme unlock for each character.

Of course the theme would be unique to the amiibo being scanned in. They could offer just one theme, so you'd have to choose whether you wanted it on the 3ds or wii u.

Trying to decide whether its worth getting up early tomorrow to go into the city to hunt for a Meta Knight. It's a semi-large UK city but I've had no luck with any rare amiibos in the past, though I've never gone for shop opening time on release day. GAME certainly won't have any because I talked to staff in there already and I couldn't even pre-order MK six weeks ago and they said they only get 2-3 of the rarer ones and they all get pre-ordered. Asda and TRU are crapshoots, never seen anything but commons but it's worth a shot. Tesco Home Plus and Argos are my best bets I think.

Go there today and ask about the stocks. My local store has 2 extra that they can't put on preorder so that there will be some in store for instance.

I found a shop online via taobao (chinese eBay/Amazon) that can put together an entire set of Amiibo, but they are the Japanese ones. I know they are region free but will it affect their value in future? I want to collect them all for my daughter who is just under 2 years old. Maybe some day they will be worth decent $$

There are way better investments for your daughter's future than dolls. In the 1990's Furbies, Beanie Babies, trading cards and comics were all sure bets to never lose value. The market crashed, hard. Start a college fund or buy the toys because you like them, with no expectation of future riches.

I'm hoping this too. At least for the duration of a whole day or a couple of days. The only character that sold out right away so far has been Rosalina with Target. The others were up for a while as I recall.
