My meta knight had the sticker side ways , tbh its easier to take off the plastic than on the box/cardboard , left no marks since plastic has nothing to take off.
Still sucks though

Thats BS. Every character in Smash has a ton of fans. All of them would be selling alot because, where else are they going to get a figure of G&W, or DH, of Falcon? Nowhere. This is the first time many characters who have been loved by many have had an actual figure to collect. They would've sold alot more if they actually kept stock of them but instead they focus on Mario (twice now with SM line) , Side Mario Series, Zelda, and Pokemon (Well Lucario not so much...) figures that have been made before so they aren't wanted as much because theres already been alot of figures of all of the characters elsewhere except for Rosalina (Who they also didn't produce enough ironically despite being a Mario character) Dr. Mario, Bowser Jr, and Shiek who really haven't had any figures before. And for Kid Icarus, Samus, and FE characters its the first time that a affordable (not to mention ones that actually come out in NA.) have come out so people will want those mario than the "main" characters too.
Nintendo foolishly thought their main characters would be the top selling and their not well known/niche characters wouldn't sell at all when its the other way around since anyone who enjoys collecting has most likely already gotten some of the main characters figures that ther companies make. (Tho the Amiibos are still nice.) And when 90%+ (Guessing but I feel I'm right all things considered.) buying Amiibos are people who have loved these characters, huge Nintendo fans who have wanted a figure, then its no surprise that most want Amiibos that have not been made into figures before.
Its just a total mess.

I don't like all this thread splintering and app usage... With the apps, they're nice to have but I feel like they've led to people not posting notifications in the thread itself, and the apps have a lot of drawbacks (increased battery usage and a very limited amount of storage are key issues for me, among other things)... And with the topic being splintered 3 ways now this little community itself now is noticeably lighter on people... Altogether I feel like this is all making this topic completely irrelevant to me. :\

I get your argument, I do. But I (and most others in the EU/UK thread) can only read the words Best Buy, Target and GameStop so many times. The reality of the situation is that an overwhelming majority in this thread are American and it can be very difficult to track the stock of our stores over here when this thread moves so fast. I don't want to have to read 5-6 pages to find out the latest news about Argos or Tesco when it might mean I miss an online sale.

The primary intent for LINE was to push real-time notifications to people's phones to alert us all when a preorder/sought after amiibo goes up. It was never meant to be a replacement for this wonderful thread, I can assure you that. We all just worried about sleeping through Wave 4 preorders, then Toki had the idea to do a Google Hangouts, I got it off the ground, and CH4OS introduced everyone to LINE. The Alerts have been mostly successful, I have to say.
Again, it was nevwr meant to replace this. It all started here, and I love this thread. I'd never want it to become irrelevant.

Exactly. The updates posted in the thread sometimes get drowned out in the heat of the moment, and people miss out. With the real-time alert system we have in LINE, that's no longer an issue at all. That was another reason behind starting this whole thing.
I'm surprise there more Ike's than DDD.

Just did a successful store pickup for Meta Knight. I preordered him from Best Buy's website back in December. I called today to verify it was still there, and it was.
Interesting note, the clerk said if I did a in-store preorder, those sometimes can get messed up. He said another customer in-store preordered 3 Meta Knights, and only 1 came in.
So, sounds like doing a website store pickup preorder is pretty safe.

LINE chat room kinda made this thread irrelevant in a sense since most of people talking more in chatroom lately.
I don't mind tho since it helped out with reducing the chance of off-topic subjects being discussed here and more of Amiibo discussion and alerts.

Use a hair dryer to soften up the sticker, way easier to get off and it wont damage the package

LINE has been very successful in getting people what they need. I try to post on LINE and in the thread, but LINE is my top priority now. We've gotten people their Mega Man and Dedede (Ike's a pain) and I'm so happy to be able to help AmiiboGAF more.
I mainly use the desktop version of LINE to easily post and click links.

When the Smash Bros. Roster line up is complete I'm done. Amiibo's are getting really expensive.

I have serious doubts that Nintendo will ever restock any amiibos except Marth only because they said they would.
Even when they restock Marth, I don't imagine an ample supply. It's going to be like trying to get an Ike or D3 is my guess.
My greatest hope at this point is the port strike freeing up some supply.

Does anyone know how to turn every alert off in the regular chat room? I've tried but while my phone won't vibrate any more when someone posts in the regular chat room, a notice still pops up on the app that there are posts in the basic chat room. I swear I turned off every alert but it's not working. The LINE app is confusing and cumbersome to say the least.

That's just Nintendo's lame excuse. I doubt it has any effect at all for limited amiibo.
Sure as hell it's not affecting Canada at all most likely, perhaps just an impact for the US stock. I mean we didn't see Rosalina in stores and amazon.ca failed to supply any at all thus cancelling many orders.
I couldn't either which is why I left that group.

Yeah, I just left the group. Hot damn that's annoying. It makes the alerts for retail releases pointless since I'll never know if the number on the app is related to that or someone posting in the regular chat room.
i guess you werent here for the wave 2 disaster with bby in store pick ups, im still not taking that chance. seems like most everyone was able to get mk this time though through in store pick up. since the port strikes have been resolved, hopefully bby's in store pick up becomes more reliable.

The idea to have a notice pop on your phone from people in this community when a retailer has something up for sale is a great idea since I can't always be in this chat on GAF and have missed alerts when certain characters are up (D3 multiple times) but man, those apps are not easy to use and have confusing ass interfaces. On top of that, there are chat rooms and when people post in them, as opposed to the retailer notice, it blows up my phone and bombards me with constant alerts which God forbid the app make it easy to turn those off.
