Still one of the best amiibos so far. I think Bowser is my favorite but Dedede and Mega Man are right there.

I have the same. I checked my orders on Wal-mart, and my email for any cancellations, no indication on cancellation in either location. Hopefully 2 (1 for each order) will be ok.

Pretty much. If they were up for preorder, I'd probably buy one just to have it but I really don't care about missing out on an amiibo that I could make myself with a can of spray paint.

Thanks! I'm waiting until next time I can get to an IKEA and get a Detolf, but that might not be for a couple of months. This current display looks better and better, though, with the more amiibos I get. I cropped the picture, so there is room for plenty more. There are two more shelves that haven't even been used, so 18 more there + 7 more on the Dedede/Meta Knight shelf. I could technically use the top too, so I could fit up to 34 more... not even half full yet (currently have 29)!
EDIT: I've been wondering what to do with the Mario series once I start getting those. Like, do I mix them in with the Smash line? I don't think I want to do that. Maybe I'll put those on the top.
So... How about that Silver Mario now?
I wonder if that is Amazon exclusive...
Was just about to come in here and say that. You would think if it's launching March 20th too, they would be out soon.
Of course...who wants silver instead of gold?

Here's the whole shelf uncropped. So I have room for 7 more on the Dedede/Meta Knight shelf, 9 more below that (16), 9 more on the bottom (25), and 9 more on the top (34). As you can see, right now I have a bunch of other Nintendo-related figures on the top, but I do have other places I can move them. I probably have room for three more of these shelves to the left. If each shelf holds a maximum of 63 amiibos (34 + 29), I could have an amiibo wall of 252 amiibos! I could probably stack another shelf on top too. 504 amiibos!!! BRING IT ON NINTENDO!
I also have to make sure everyone knows I have a Vampire Rain poster
EDIT: Logic fail. If I stack them, I can't have the 9 on the top, so 468 is the maximum amount of amiibos I'll be able to have.

Gold Mario is a pointless Mario. If I wanted Mario I'd want something that didn't look like a shiny blob. Nintendo gave the most boring Amiibo to the most boring retailer. You can keep him Walmart.

I hope it sells so well that Nintendo does more color variant exclusives. Just stop doing characters as exclusives. Missing out on meta knight because I didn't line up outside best buy in 8 degree weather is insane.

I think this Gold Mario amiibo fiasco has really made me realize how little I really care about Amiibos. I just don't have the energy to be watching for the 15 minute window that pre-orders are open. At this point NoA has to figure out some way to combat the scalpers for the sake of people who actually want the Amiibos, otherwise I think I'm going to be done after acquiring Ness.

More and more people are getting fed up, if nintendo has some sort of master plan they better move to the next step.
Agreed, it should have been clear to me before, but this exposed the ridiculousness of the whole enterprise. I can't think of any other consumer good where this is the case. Sure, I've had to be quick to get some limited box sets, but those were one offs, with dates laid out in advance. This is relentless and maddeningly unpredictable.
More amiibos for me :T
