The scarcity of past Fire Emblem characters, Awakening's popularity and the Codename STEAM functionality seem to have pulled the FE characters ahead. Pac Man seems to be roughly the same rarity as Sonic.

Totally buying two Ness. I've made up my mind. One for me and one to trade here.
Lucina and Robin were the first to be pre-sold out at in-store preorders at EB Games. No other retailer takes preorders.
Why not one for you and leave it at that? Unless your looking to make some cash I'll understand why , the people who want Ness should be able to order him without having to deal with quickly depleting stock.

I want to say three days for Lucina and four for Robin and Ness but I didn't record the numbers and am just going by memory.

Look I'm not offended you can spend your money as you please whether it's to buy them to keep or sell. I just want you to be aware of something , whenever you buy multiples the stock dwindles down even quicker regardless of whatever you intentions you have.
I'm not surprised why Damn near every amiibo is sold out, scalpers and 'traders' are bringing down the stock together leaving people who genuinely wanted the figure in the dust.
Yep, its hard to tell what's more annoying the scalpers or the people stockpiling them for trades in the future.
Just complete shit. A guy tried to buy 2 megamans and 2 Sonic's at the store the other day but our manager was like "nope".
I can live with this. As I'm watching daily for wave 4 preorders, as long as I have the time to get to my local GS after work and preorder, I don't have an issue with it.

I wouldn't use Gold Mario as a standard.
For single and to-be-rare figures, no. But I am hoping the wave pre-orders will be different, though.
That's why I was asking him the shortest he saw for a figure, which was around 3 days. If that remains the case in NA, I can live with that.
Amiibos from the Mario brand in general might not be a good standard since that stuff is like...always overstocked.
I think it might just be easier to consider that if preorders go up, consider them gone within an hour.
It is really annoying, I know a couple of "friends" that have multiple MKs for "trade" and won't actually sell me one because they want to use it for trade bait.

Yep, know a few of the same kind of people. One guy somehow got two majoras mask 3ds was gonna sell me one for msrp. Showed up and he changed his mind to $400 like wtf. Said it was either that or keep it for trades.
But people will continue to do this sick crap. Almost makes it not worth even trying.

He makes a point thesee arnt items produced in abundance these are high profile low stock items , the correct course of action is to limit them so that more stock is available for more customers.
Nintendo World does this and is probably one of the reason they are New Yorks most respected amiibo retailer ,hypotheticaly wouldn't you be Pissed if you were on line and there were only 2 Ness left in stock and the guy in front of you purchased two , he will trade it to you but only for someone as equally expensive as him(NA villager , little mac etc).Unless you got cash to throw around that will leave you with a very bitter taste in your mouth.
I'm not saying it's easy for us buyers lol

Based on gaf's stories, it seems to me that ebay's policies are so overwhelmingly on the side of the customer that defrauding a shopper is nearly impossible, while a shopper making false claims to defraud a seller requires nothing but willingness to be an asshole.

I personally haven't run into that issue but I make sure to pre-order at two different places now. I keep one sealed and open the other. I'm not gonna be a dick and buy two in line at Best Buy or whatever, even if they allowed that, which they don't.
When it comes to these things and pre-order cancellations, you bet I'm gonna order two. I think there is a clear difference between a scalper going into Toys R Us and trying to buy up every Lucario they have in stock, which is the way he makes money, and a Nintendo fan wanting two for collecting or trading purposes.
The issue really lies on Nintendo at this point in terms of availability. If you're out of the game, then be out. It's a $13 toy. If you're not and want to try and get lucky with a pre-order or lining up, then go forth and do your thing. I missed out on the Majora's Mask 3DS but I'm not going to be bitter about it.
Well, I'd use toad as the standard now personally.
Imho,wave 3 was pretty easy to preorder except for Rosalina, due to no in store preorders for Target. We all knew Ike was going to be a unicorn and his preorders were up for a long time.

Alright GAF, i have converted to Amiibo's now. Have like 15 of then for myself. Unlike probably 90% of the people buying them, not gonna flip them, just love the style of them, hence why I was a recent convert. I'll bookmark this thread now for any Ness or Gold Mario amiibo's floating around for a reasonable price, as so far, haven't an amiibo way over MSRP, just finding sale bargains when I can. Like pokemon "Gotta catch them all"
