Amiibo Thread 5 | Because we didn't preorder thread 4

Majorly lucked out this weekend. A friend of mine decided he was done with Amiibos and decided to part ways with his Lucario, Wii Fit Trainer, and Little Mac, all of which are coming my way. All opened, but honestly I'd just open them anyway since I intend to use and display them. Awesome, though! I'll probably post a collection picture once I get them from him.

Doesn't quench my thirst for Ike though. MUST HAVE FIRE EMBLEM CHARACTERS.

Is Sheik still rare? I swear I get notifications every half hour about her and Toon Link being in stock, and I've started to see them more and more at local GameStops. Targets, Wal Marts, ect here still don't seem to have them though. Sonic seems to heading that way too, I went from never seeing him to seeing him every time I've been out shopping the last few days.

Sheik is heading into common-uncommon territory. She's more common than Sonic or Megaman but you'll have an easier time finding Toon Link or Bowser.

Not yet, the second shipment confirmed so far for him and King Dedede are for preorders they couldn´t fulfill. But I won´t be surprised if they pop up when we get closer to wave 4 release.
 
Hey guys. Any news/gossip on when the next wave are going up for pre-orders in the US?

I've only been grabbing the ones I really want (Marth from Wave 1, Little Mac from 2, no one from 3) and I'm kinda scared of being too slow to get a pre-order in for Lucina when they go up. =\
 
In case anyone missed my last post, the Meijer in Lincoln Park, MI still has quite a few Sonics left. Money is tight but I might be able to grab an extra if someone would like to make a decent trade. Don't know how it is trying to get one of him yet.

NZ's Dedede and MK restock has basically kept them easily available for two weeks now. They seemed to be restocked far more than any of the others, and I'm not sure why.
 
GameStop put him back up as a preorder for a May 1st release a few weeks ago. You could do it in store or on the website. Online, it was gone pretty quickly, but I know some places were still doing Web In Store orders a while afterwards. Probably all dried up at this point, though :\

Pretty accurate list ,I personally believe Ike will reach SS tier even after his restock.

Also any theories on Wave 4 rarity?

Well, I live in north east Ohio, outside of Cleveland, so that's a bit of a drive, but it's good to know someone saw a D3 on the shelf. I still may just trade for one, I guess it's the reason I picked up extras of Rosie.

They can't all be rare, can they?? I still think MM and Sonic are going to be common, the waves just recently hit. Ike and D3 I think will remain hard to find. I think Pac Man and Wario are going to be, not so much easy, but manageable to find.

I've passed on sheik a few times now because I dont want one, interesting to hear it's so rare.

I recall worrying about Diddy Kong and even had a gaffer ship me one. Common as Mario now, but you can't really sleep on anyone to see what the stock may be like weeks later.
 
Sheik is not really that rare, its just hard to find since scalpers are buying all of them. In my opinion a character doesn´t become common/uncommon until its widely available online.
 
Lucina is going to be straight up SS tier with the way she's being scalped out of existence.

Robin and Ness just underneath.

Are scalpers really buying them all? I can easily find them at any store I go to that sells them, and if you look on eBay you can get it for pretty much store cost plus shipping. I can't imagine someone who scalps Amiibos would even bother selling one online since the return is probably literally pennies after fees.

Likewise. I've seen Sheik at Target, GameStop, and Best Buy around me. I think people are jumping on this "blame the scalper for everything" train a little too hard at this point.

If JPN preorders are any indication all three of these will be on the top of rare. The other three took a few days before preorders sold out.

It's hard to argue with this , Lucina and U.S. Ness are guaranteed Rares at this point.I'm not giving Noa the benefit of the doubt it's still a a miracle we even received earthbound anything on the eshop

Lol and just like a previous poster posted way back I wouldn't be surprised if NoA outright prevented certain amiibos from making it here,on the grounds that they are too obesecure to even be worth marketing.

Lucina will be a unicorn just like the other fire emblem chars.

Sheik is in the cusp of being common, while toon link is now common imho.

Its really a case-by-cases situation. I live in Tijuana, but go to SoCal often since I run an anime store and I get my stock in a P.O. Box. Anyway, I also sell amiibos for an import commision since they are so rare here, so when I went to TRU a saw this guy buy all Bowser, Toon Link and Sheik, granted this was on Jan. 28 when they just released, but he had his cart full of 30+ Bowsers, and it keep happening every store I go. Just last week TRU had a restock of Toon Link, about 20 of them, I went the next and they were all gone, and by now we know Toon Link is not even that hard to get.

I can't wait to have enough money set aside to get that figure. It's beautiful. Hell, I'll even get an extra Lucina amiibo and use it to see if I can mod the figma figure to work like an amiibo just to give me more reason to pull it off the shelf XD

Ha, I could make lots of recommendations of girls I like, but I already have an avatar I can change whenever ;p Yep, of course she'll get the amiibo treatment too!
