Okay...

This is sort of outrageous.

Maybe the listing is from eBay itself!

Almost had a Captain Falcon. Popped up for $24 on Ebay, from a Japanese shop with 3 available. Snagged it instantly and paid. Got an email today canceling the order; they had dozens of completed purchases within moments.

That Gold Mario Amiibo that was sponsored by eBay just sold! The flames have been egnited , I see these listing increase steadily in price.

Yes. They're much lower than they were on Feb. 3rd.

My order is sitting at £63.23.

Nice, thanks for looking into this. Mine went down from $46 to $38 since I preordered too.

This is disgusting in ways I cannot verbally express.

I agree, but in the same token, it seems like most people were preordering two from Wal-Mart. I think every single retailer should only limit 1. Imagine there were 100 available, and everyone ordered two. So, only 50 people were able to get one. Does that seem legit?

At this point I feel like that is what it has to be for people to actually get the ones they want. It sucks that you can't get as many as you want, but with how screwed up supply has been that seems like the only way. I just wanted a MK and now I've gotta either pray to some diety that there is a restock or tear my arm and leg off to give to some scalper. It is ridiculous that it has to be this way, but I guess Nintendo revels in it, just like the Wii.

I'm also feeling frustrated...yeah I suppose Wave 1 and 2 are long gone, so it's my fault for not catching amiibo fever until after Wave 3 was already out, but I'm a paying customer...it doesn't make sense that there are so many of us who want the amiibo, its supposed to be this big new pillar for Nintendo to make some easy cash on, and yet we can't buy them because Nintendo won't make enough.

It's ridiculous. I want a Meta Knight, there is no reason why I shouldn't be able to order a fucking Meta Knight!

.

It doesn't seem like Nintendo's winning a lot of points with retailers either. At least not their employees. The people I've spoken to at places like Target and Best Buy have been kind and courteous but patience is wearing thin all around.

So ridiculous, right? Really can't believe this crap.

Lol I didn't expect ebay to publically support this but from a Business perspective you gotta understand why they do.Ebay thrives from this stuff , can you imagine how much they aquired from fees of the Majoras Mask XL and amiibo sales?an absolute truck load , they are trying to capitalize from a bad situation and have no qualms with announcing it.

It sucks, but has to be tolerated as a Nintendo fan these days. They wont change low production on things like a gamecube adapter or niche games like pikmin any time soon. Would amiibos even be selling as well if they were easily available? I've bought 10, many are gone now.

Their core audience has been shrinking for generations and the wiiu has sold like shit. They're conservative in production to save money, but the frenzy for fewer products gets fans to buy more than they would have otherwise.

Im implying that Charizard will be rare by force, most likely as a store exclusive by ToysRus.Even so that one month production run is not looking good for us.You are right, mabye my trading card comparison was a bit silly but i was trying to highlight a point, just because a character is popular does not mean he will be common.

So far, if a wave or figure was a store exclusive, it was announced at the same time as the wave/figure. This was the case for both Wave 3 and the Gold Mario amiibo (remember, we only knew before that Gold Mario was Wal-Mart exclusive because of a leak, nothing was officially announced until last week). There's honestly no reason to suspect they are going to do store exclusives for Wave 4. Between this and the whole thing about them not bringing figures to NOA, all you're really doing is spreading paranoia without much warrant.

Don't get the wrong idea all i'm stating is my own personal prediction , people can agree or diagree with it I'm not trying to make anyone paranoid but from I witnessed from NoA I learned to not doubt the impossibilities.I just felt that a Charizard exclusive could be possible, Toys r us specifically because Nintendo and Toys us have had a history of having contractual pokemon exclusives and I assumed that TRU will continue the theme and will try to aquire each pokemon amiibo as their exclusive.

Considering how Pikachu wasn't a TRU exclusive, this already hasn't happened.

eBay wants those amiibo profits, and why wouldn't they? They get a solid 10 percent, plus a couple extra through paypal? Surprised they haven't sooner.

Picked up Zelda, Pikachu, Kirby, Diddy and Lugie yesterday. I'm honestly already feeling burned out from all of this. Bums me out that we can't pick up the rare amiibos with ease. I have Meta Night, Lucario and Rosalina on the way but it's gotten to the point where I'm not sure if they're worth opening.

Dammit Nintendo!

Iwata Believes Amiibo Sales Could be Stronger in Japan

http://www.siliconera.com/2015/03/0...be-stronger-in-japan-says-nintendo-president/

Just send them over to NA instead!

Iwata also explains why Amiibo figurines all cost the same, despite the fact that some are clearly more expensive to manufacture than others. He said to investors: “Since setting different price points could be misinterpreted as the company valuing certain characters more than others, we came to the decision to set an MSRP that would return a profit from the Amiibo platform as a whole.”

What are the general price for amiibos in Japan? That's weird to me, I thought Japan was really into collectibles and the like.

Amazon Japan typically has them in the neighborhood of 1113 yen, which is like... 9.80 I believe. But that a sale price for when they have too much. At maximum, they're retail prices are 1296 yen.

In terms of US money, they're much cheaper in Japan.

It's probably because they are saturated in them. Slim pickins' here. Even for things like Pokemon goods, they JUST started opening up and selling at more locations in the past like, 2 years. Japan can stroll into a variety of stores for them. Same with figures. Jakks only JUST started putting those articulate figures out since last year. There's been others, but these seem more popular, and expand outside of just Mario that we've always seen. Oh and not to mention Japan Gatcha is amazing and have a HUGE variety with such a good $2 quality!

That's what I'm guessing, at least.

Apparently amiibo are "too large" for the Japanese market. I'm wondering just how small they'd rather them be, because they're like what, 3" on average? Honestly the size is what sold me on them. Big enough to have a decent amount of detail while still being sturdy, small enough that they don't take up an excessive amount of space.

Off topic, but funny thing about those Kid Icarus cards

My friend used to work for EBGames, so when I bought my Wii U from him, he ended up giving me a lot of extra shit with it. One of these things was a collection of Kid Icarus booster packs, about 98 or so unopened packs and 6 random cards. They're somewhere around here, I have no real use for them lol.

I'll take em off your hands

They are about 10-11 us dollars. Roughly the same. I don't know what Iwata is talking about, they are sold out over there too at the big shops. I suspect sell thru may not be as high because of the smaller stores that often have their products and they don't market them well. Buts thats their fault for who they distributed product to. At first sales were a bit slower than here but that changed fast. Don't forget that Japan has been in a bit of an economic funk the last few years, spending money on toys is going to be a bit lower than usual.

i saw that on the reddit amiibo group, thought they were lying for some reason, mind blown

No, it was officially announced by Nintendo here and they've now started popping up in stores. We have a 90% sell through rate or something for Amiibo so Japan asked us if we wanted more stock, and the retailers said absolutely!

Jesus making around $100 off these just for listing three on eBay. Some spare cash along with my job income so I can afford a laptop for college. Nothing personal, folks. Just business.

I only have on amiibo and that's the fire mario amiibo. :(

Good on you. I sold off a Pit, Wii Fit Trainer (x2), Villager, and Diddy Kong (x2) to pay off some bills. Feels good, man.

As an update. I decided to just cancel all auctions and cancel my Wal-mart preorders. More power to the other people on here.
