That's why a credit card is your friend, in case of "emergencies" like that. Always make sure you have at least a few hundred dollars to spare on one in case you need to make a quick order on a limited item. Tha's my advice.

gamestop in store pre orders might be different than online pre orders, like unless there are a ton of people in your area i think if you go the same day pre orders open you might have a chance, they might have at least 6-12 of each amiibo

Who says you can't afford it? In my scenario, I can ALWAYS afford it, it's just that other monetary priorites might arise that would make you lose out on a limited window, hence the credit card. Obviously, you pay it back the very next pay check, or after that even. That's always my MO when it comes to crsdit card use, and I have excellent credit, if I do say so.

I apologize because it's not my place to offer unsolicited financial advice to strangers, but the reason (which doesn't justify me butting in) was this post right here ^ This person's got a credit card that's maxed out and is lamenting the fact that the limit wasn't higher, which would have allowed him to buy an Amiibo. That's dangerous and it sounded like that's what you were advising. I remember and regret that kind of decision making in my younger days, just want to help others avoid the same pitfall.

Pretty much, most in the LINE group say it is to keep the fun conversation out of here so it is focused on updates/links but that then makes the thread dead. Then of course updates to stock get there first and here second.
This community has been fracturing off (Canada, EU, OT, LINE, PushBullet, etc.) and it is not helping anyone but those who are leading those groups and keeping information to themselves in some glorified idea they are protecting us from people like mariotehplumber, when really it seems like they are just worried about themselves.

The line group isn't about getting information first, or before this thread or any other place. It's about having an app on your phone that alerts you when something is up rather than having to camp a site all day.
The chat room is an added bonus if you don't mind the stickers.
Not at all trying to put words in B.Bluth's mouth - but it does feel a lot like a "walled garden" with the chat group. Still hoping to be able to find my own way in there, but I think it is a pretty fair statement to say the chatter in the forum has died down a LOT in the last week,
and not only due to the lack of Amiibo info
Lol trust me im aware of my issues with that, ive got 3 cards and ive cut myself off after that. Mind you only one card even has 1000 limit, the other two have less.
The worst thing looming over me is my student loans...but i'll have the cards all paid off before that kicks in by far.

Still trying to figure that out - I've had an account now for a couple weeks and the app on my phone, but I have NO idea how to add a "Group" or to be added to one. Closest I've gotten is a check box that allows OTHERS to add me, which is enabled, but beyond that *shrug*
Absolutely no negativity here, was only adding insight so you could see the perspective of people on the outside trying to get "in". There is clearly a sub community brewing, and judging by how many times I've seen "Thank you so much LINEGaf, if not for you I would have missed preorder x/y/z" it can lead people to believe there is a "LINE first GAF second" mentality, even if that isn't the case/intention.
It is absolutely a fair interpretation too - sorry if that ruffles feathers.

Honestly, it is more the community as a whole has changed a lot in the past month. I don't like the direction and said it many times when the LINE stuff was being created.
No one gave a shit about my opinion.
We seem to just go off and do as we please making new OTs, LINE groups, etc. with no regard for what the whole community wants.
There is no organization to it and no care for the greater opinion when these decisions have been made.
Yeah what is this "Line" people speak of? A chat room of sorts that is hosted by Neogaff? Or is it just some off line (hehe...) chat program? Forums gives me the right amount of pacing for my weekdays considering my work schedule. So that works for me.
As far as those Wave 4 preorders (yeah everyone's beaten it to death) has there been any credibility to the rumors that they won't do preorders? I was hearing something weird in my area that one lone GS was taking preorders finally and I tried to secure one yesterday at my favorite location, but they close early on Sundays ofc and time change screwed with me a bit. I'll try and see if I can reserve today though after work ;__;
EDIT: I did spend a good waiting period just to get into "Amiibogaf"/neogaffs inner cricle of sorts it would very much suck if there's an even tighter-knit group that looks out for each other simply because people talk to each other there more frequently. Can't really complain about "missing the first boat" of Neogaff inclusiveness, but I was hoping there was multiple ships that sets sail. It is what it is though-still glad to have finally gotten in haha!

I agree with you actually but don't want to be negative about the whole thing. It is what it is. I liked it better when people were conversing on here. I'm on line and don't really know how to use it and I have limited data so I hardly ever get alerts unless I am at home with connected to Wi Fi.
It is cool that people can be alerted though but I hope the forum gets alerted in a timely manner too. Seconds count with amiibos unfortunately

Are we are saying everything is negative unless he is saying "LINE is the best, and I'm 1000% on board with all the effects it has had on this Amiibo community". Cause that seems so very unfair...
edit; I'm in the group too, and I see the benefits of it as well as the faults a lot of people have pointed out. I really appreciate having a way to be informed while on the go, and to save my F5 key from years of use - but it has without a doubt fragmented the community in a lot of negative ways. It is what it is, and I'm totally for people having MULTIPLE ways to stay in the community, but it is worth being upfront and honest with the impacts the LINE group has had.

Byron, what you don't seem to understand is that we had plenty of spots open for anyone active here to join, and people instead decided to cry foul when it wasn't necessary. We are not some council of elders who has a governing body as a community, we're all just fellow amiibo collectors who go ahead and do what we all want, so the "organization" you speak of is only valid if we were an actual club or society.
The greater opinion at the time I first statted this whole thing on Google Hangouts was "hey, what if we all were on the lookout with each other and were able to instantly notify everyone else about availability even faster than the thread, through a phone notification?", and it went from there.
It's beem working out swimmingly. I feel that your constant dislike of it is unfounded, as we all are just helping each other out in different ways, and that's the gist of it.
I'm so tired of discussing this already. Any active users here who want to join and aren't looking to exploit the info we share for scalping gains, feel free to PM me, CH4OS, or Diggeh to discuss it. Thanks.
