Sonic is more common than Mega Man but anecdotally seems like they're both fairly easy to come by.

I've only seen 1 Mega Man and quite a few Sonics myself though the do seem to be fairly more common the rest of the wave.

Anyone know if Toad is supposed to be rare? I preordered one for in-store pickup at GameStop a little over a month ago, but they have already screwed me. Trying to have it shipped instead, but getting a server error.
Hoping it's not hard to come by, otherwise I'm going to have to stay on these guys to make sure they don't give it to someone else this time.

For the most part, yep! Except...
Had to get that Falcon skin in MK8, and Pit was my main in Brawl. Plus his figure is honestly one of my favorite designs for the current lineup.

Under the assumption that it will be, but won't know for sure until they're released. Ironically it's the only one that has use in its own specific game and will be one of the more desirable ones since it didn't get a SSBU release, unlike the others, so of course Nintendo will ship only like 1 box to retailers.
If you want it and haven't got a preorder in, I would suggest getting to a store on release date, and if that's not possible then wait for inevitable times when it pops up online for 2 minutes at various retailers after release at 3:37 in the morning.
I have a second Rosalina im currently looking to trade. I only got the second after everyone at Target on launch was able to get one. Then apparently once I left some guy came in and bought the remaining 12 in the store...so its not like it really mattered if i got that extra at all, at least tmy extra was going to someone who wasnt paying through the nose for it.
I also traded an extra captain falcon ordered on gohastings on /r/amiiboswap for someone who had an Ike, and I hadn't been able to find Ike yet. The guy seemed so excited and kept thanking me profusely. I cant see how im so awful for just trying to complete my collection and making other collectors happy in the process?

It's not a US exclusive, other countries just haven't announced it yet. Someone even posted an ad for it a little bit ago from a retailer outside of the US.

But isn't Nintendo just partnering with an importer to distribute the "US/Canadian" amiibo into Latin America? Has anyone seen any gold mario ads from EU/ANZ/JPN regions?
A single date to release them all, without dumb exclusives at different dates. That's how you release wave 4. So cool. Congrats to all Aussie/NZ amiibros. Now, NoA... Listen, NoA, idk what are you up to with wave 4 but if you are taking this long to open preorders just to announce that Lucina will be a Taco Bell exclusive then I will be so done with Amiibo and probably cry for 2 hours. So please don't do that.

Going by NZ stock, Marth and most of wave four (E: three) are part of the restock.

I snagged a Marth from EBGames. Japanese stock. but thats all news. I've called every store in Melbourne and they only have Kirby, DK, Pikachu and Link.
