I don't own Smash but couldn't pass up Mega Man when I saw him.

As I stare at him on my shelf, I hear him calling out to me "buy more, I need friends". I try to ignore him but I feel he'll soon be joined by Samus, Pit, Link and Nes.

And it makes complete sense why that listing for Wave 5 was just Splatoon and 2 Pokemon. They'll probably turn that shit around super fast and release Wave 5 right after Wave 4 and just make it smaller due to the shipping problems.

Yeah, Toad's vest is hit or miss. Shame too since these figures are fewer colors, less complex than the Smash series. Very few I've seen where the blue or the yellow is painted over with the other color.

The Mario series amiibo were manufactured in a different city than the smash amiibo, so that is perhaps why we are seeing the same rough quality control work that we saw from the first runs of the smash series' first wave.

I got the Loot Crate: Amiibo edition before it all sold out, because I have subscription to loot crate I was able to swoop in quick. I did not know what I was getting into. I know myself, I know that I cannot start a collection without finishing it (thank you OCD). So, I got my first 10 and was hooked immediately. I didn't know what I was entering. Now I know, I'm armed and READY.

The DK and Pikachu are opened because they're someone's favorites that couldn't wait and opened them before I can even say NO. Thankfully they're common enough. Keep watch, I'm going to post some custom made amiibo soon. (;

Pre-orders here in Peru started today. We had to fill an online form out today and they'll start taking $10 (will cost about $26 in total) to reserve your Amiibo tomorrow. According to the store we'll be getting the Gold Mario Amiibo on April 1st. Yeah, they are limiting them to one per customer.
 
Has anybody heard of the release date for Wave 4? I'll be in Japan in the middle of April and would love to pick up some new amiibos (especially Lucina) while I'm there.
 
Mario, Peach, Link and Kirby back in stock at EB Games Aus for like the 10th time.

This 'import supply from other regions' strategy doesn't really work if they just keep getting the same characters.

I want my Luigi and Diddy already :(

Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, Bowser and yes Toad from the Mario line are all still available in Amazon.

Got myself all of 'em, sans Bowser, whom I already own in Smash form. Good times!
 
My Toad from WalMart came today!! His paint is flawless as far as I can tell!!

I also saw Bowser from the SMB line at Target, he looks fantastic though obviously nowhere near as detailed as the SSB figure. Not sure how many SMB Amiibo I'll wind up getting, I know I'll 100% pick up Rosalina since I missed her SSB figure and will likely never have a chance to get it, and if they do a Waluigi or Daisy or Toadette I'll probably pick them up. Maybe Wario, depending what he looks like.

One thing that puzzles the hell out of me is that NOWHERE on Toad's box does it mention he unlocks extra content IN HIS OWN GAME. He's the only character in the SMB line that has a specific game to himself with Amiibo support just for him and there is absolutely nothing to indicate that on his packaging. Blows my damn mind.
 
Don't use FedEx SmartPost if you ever buy Amiibo from Wal Marts website or any other retailer that uses it.

It is the only option from FedEx that uses USPS for the final delivery. However it is slow as fuck.

FedEx moved my Gold Marios from Indianapolis to Minnesota in less than 12 hours. Once it arrived in Minnesota and was given to USPS at a location less than 5 hours away from me it will take 3 DAYS to arrive. 3 days for a 5 hour trek. Fuck me.

Garbage.

I think there was obvious inspiration but it also seems that the ends are quite a bit different.

It's the exact same product, just the software implementation is different; they want to treat it like some homegrown Nintendo genius when it's obvious that they didn't like that it wasn't their idea/wouldn't have complete control.



It's like Sony trying to claim that the Move wasn't just a me-too Wiimote. I like the Move, but it is what it is. Corporate doublespeak at its finest.

2.& 3. I just linked to Captain Falcon, he was searchable but they are all sold out now :(

The software implementation is everything. You think Skylanders were the first collectable figurines? Even then the extent of what a Amiibo is has not been defined but has been confirmed to include things other than character statuettes.

Damn! Bummer I missed them. I don't actually want any of those but my brother does and he's bought me a few I had trouble finding and I really want to return the favor... Thanks for always giving us a heads up, I'll catch one one of these times.
 
I already have a Fox amiibo but when I was picking up Bloodborne, I found another hiding behind some Mega Man amiibo. I haven't seen one on a shelf in ages. If anyone wants one, there is one at the Best Buy at Waterford Lakes in Orlando, FL. Sonic and Mega Man are everywhere now. I guess I didn't need to wait in the cold back in February.
 
Got my Gold Mario this morning, the 8x6x4 box is perfectly sized for amiibo. I'm definitely hanging on to this box in case someone wants to trade at some point.

I saw a few Foxes at the Best Buy at 86th Street Station near Central Park NY when I was there.

Not impossible to find them in the wild, I guess.
