Amiibo Thread 5 | Because we didn't preorder thread 4

My two Gold Marios are now in Canada. They arrived at the border store on Wednesday and my wife's aunt was able to pick them up tonight.

I'll be getting them from her tomorrow. Woohoo!

With some reports of wave 4 pre orders being held uo until june in europe mabye an E3 reveal isnt too far fetched?

Lol i seriously wonder if we will really wait until summer for these figures.
 
is a gold mario for wii fit trainer a good trade? i'm trying to trade a rosalina for a wft and the guy at fist was gonna trade me for trainer, then he wanted to trade an ike for it, i passed and now he is offering a gold mario.

so yeah, could i trade a gold mario for a wft?

if its a U.S. Wii Fit Trainer than no, if otherwise then yes.I still say its too early to dictate Gold Mario's worth but longterm wise i see him being worth a lot more than what the quick sellers are charging now.
 
I wasn't planning on getting any of the MP amiibo's but all the Toad pick-ups are really starting to have me itching to grab one. I'll draw the line at Toad! :P
 
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but this thread moves too fast for me to follow.

Is Gold Mario actually rare, or has he actually turned out to be quite common? I feel like I've seen a ton of chances for people to pick him up.

He only getting a limited set of prints so while he common now, he will probably disappear off shelves forever once gone. At least gold Mario actually got an abundant print compared to Little Mac, Captain Falcon, Pit, all Fire Emblem characters, and somehow even freaking King DDD. Those guys are never seen on shelves according to most people.

About as rare as anything I suppose, at least as much as other retailer exclusives but without the option to import. Doesn't seem like any Walmarts anywhere around me have them but you could get lucky.
 
Really considering putting up my unopened official GameCube controller adapter for trade for a Gold Mario.

It's my only adapter. Haven't opened it up in a about a month now so far.

Would that be a fair trade? Also, is there an OT for these trades in general?
 
Got home from being out of town and my Gold Mario was waiting for me in my mailbox. Now to wait to be able to get normal Mario as standalone and of course Wave 4.

You know, I was shopping today and saw a HUGE amount of Super Mario Amiibo stock. Honestly, I wondered just how much we can blame the port strikes? How is it that these ones made it and Series 4 couldn't? I'm pretty sure there is something bigger, with either having issues mass producing them or manufacturing issues or SOMETHING.

Whoa whoa whoa.... you mean stores aren't going to be flooded with Little Mac's, Pit's, and Captain Falcon's? Granted, yes, we got tons of Peaches and Marios and Kirbys, but you see, those swam across so they weren't affected by the port strike, just the other ones. You have to believe in the port strike affecting Amiibo stock. It's, like, a religion.

For one, this set is the first that started manufacturing after the release of amiibo so they could properly gauge the amount to make to ship based on sales of the previous waves. I bet that's a factor.

The US will probably get a date for Wave 4 in the next Direct

Oh really? They started working on these last year before the Smash ones?

Hopefully we will get another Direct soon. It's been a couple months since the last one and still a few months away from E3. Other regions are getting their Directs...

According to the PDFs that went around for ratings, these started production in December. Everything before now was August to November.

Direct is expected this week.

After reading your post I went to Amazon UK and such to see how much third party sellers were putting Gold Mario up for and it was like 500 pounds or 200 Euros! Holy shit!

Where are you located? I don't have one to sell, I am just curious.

I am sure it will get to EU soon enough. I would just wait.

Germany and yes, prices here are outrageous.
Honestly, I don't see him coming. Launching together with Mario Party 10 would have made sense, like in the states. But it didn't happen.

Damn. He's coming to South America next week so there is still hope he may make his way across the world.
 
Found a spare Gold Mario at my hometown WM while seeing family. Seems like sporadic, 4-or-less restocks are happening now since this location didn't have any in stock even a few days ago. FWIW I tried to do instore pickup but it errored out...went down and found it on the shelf.
 
did wave 4 preorders even go up in the US?

I haven't got any sort of notificaction for preorders from my US contacts or here in Spain.
