Just picked up my Mewtwo at Gamestop, and saw all the Animal Crossing amiibo in person for the first time! They look really nice, but I'm not getting Happy Home Designer or Amiibo Festival, haven't bought any of the cards, and will pass on these as well.
I almost definitely would have bought a standalone KK Slider just because I love him, but I don't care about the alpacas at all and I'm not dropping $35 just for KK. I know that's why Nintendo bundled him in the first place, dammit, and I'm not biting.
Funny thing is I still don't have Villager. Kinda hoping they release some other Villager designs as part of this series that also work for Smash Bros. I'm not crazy about the default Smash design.

Apparently that Nintendo World Report editor was wrong to an extent. A Redditor reports that the Villager Amiibo unlocks a gold Villager statue in AC:AF:

OCD report: the font they used for "Mewtwo" on the front of the packaging is different than the other Smash line characters' names. On purpose or some weird oversight?
Weird, it's a more condensed font for some reason.
I was about to say, maybe it's different for the DLC characters, but Lucas's packaging uses the normal font.

Ryu looks like one of the tallest amiibo if his figure to base ratio is correct there

Should I worry about Twilight Princess HD's amiibo bundle on Best Buy? Or will it be back up for pre-order often?

Hasn't showed up on best buy yet, so there's that and maybe more stock will happen over time anyway.
I would think since it's the only way to get it at the moment that the bundle will be in more plentiful supply as we get closer to release. At least farther than only a few days from the announcement at least.

amiibo Festival is a budget title with two amiibos bundled in that you have to pay for. It will be $40 by next year.

I'm pretty happy that some amiibo are easily found at best buy now. I just finally got shulk yesterday.
I wonder if they will do restocks of other hard to find characters like pit, palutena, wario, robin and lucina,meta knight, king dedede, rosalina, and 30th anniversary Mario.
I also wonder if retailers will get cold feet and order less of ryu and Lucas.
I hate having to buy a bunch at once so the current best buy situation is awesome. I feel no rush to get marth or little Mac or falcon.

Same. The only thing I hate is it has shades of that bullshit Mario Party AI. I played a round last night against three AI characters and you know who won? The AI character who was behind - negative bells, barely any Happy Points - all game long. They randomly got a money tree and were awarded with 90k bells. They won when the bells were converted to Happy Points.
The round I played with my wife was fun though.

My Target is horrible with amiibo exclusives, I don't trust them since I've noticed that they only had 6 Dr. Marios at launch and that's it.

I know I said I wasn't going to get/keep any of the AC amiibo but I love Rover so I'm gonna make an exception
EDIT: I hope Roy has similar stock to the Retro 3-Pack. I would have preferred Target or TRU for Roy because they have a ton of stock for their exclusives.

Definitely. Also, I guess that takes care of the Mario Maker stuff, barring another Isabelle outfit. Shame that nothing else has popped up/may not pop up for AC soon, though, as I'd love a Red or Tortimer, or for the off-chance one a Brewster. Still, there are at least some nice ones coming up.

Famicom R.O.B. IS COMING TO U.S! YES! Definitely picking him up. I hope Roy being a GameStop exclusive doesn't mean low stock numbers. Ugh. Timmy & Tommy though is worse for me. Better be a Dr. Mario situation where there's enough of them because outside out him, I've had the worst luck with Target.
