Amplitude (Harmonix) PS3/PS4 - KS (Funded, final day)

I received no email, but haven't had the chance to check the BackerKit site for the codes.

I tweeted at the devs asking why exactly we got these codes and they confirmed these are supposedly in-place of the post-launch DLC the campaign promised. I think not making that clear from the start is kind of shady.

And why the fuck are they 10 $2 codes?

Only the 1000 people who pledged at the special $35 tier are getting PSN Dollars:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/harmonix/amplitude/description

If you pledged $40 then you are likely not in this tier.

Re-read the graphics on the campaign story. They're going to $35+ rewards.

To be honest I really just wished I had pledged $40 for the Early Access, but I was feeling like kind of a cheapskate at the time so I went with the tier that essentially gave you money back.

Nope, I was at the $100 tier and got codes. I believe they clarified afterwards that the upper tiers would also get the $20 credit.

He probably misunderstood the question. These are in $2 increments because they are old Rock Band freebies that Harmonix gave away to sweeten the pot.

Has nothing to do with DLC.

Because Harmonix had a ton of them from their giving away Rock Band DLC days.

Those two thoughts (the multi-codes and the RB DLC codes) weren't connected. But the campaign explicitly says "Get PSN codes redeemable for Harmonix DLC, including Amplitude DLC post launch."

They aren't a sweetener for anything, they were for that DLC, but the update didn't say that. You should tell people when you're fulfilling something they pledged for. Here's a fuller tweet that shows the whole conversation (they replied to the same tweet twice).

Wait, it's separate from the DLC?

So US backers get both the free DLC and $20 free?

Pfft.

No, I don't think that's the case. I think these codes were intended for the DLC and their update didn't say that. I'm worried people will think this is just free credit and feel cheated out of DLC.

It's $20 in PSN credit. You are free to save it for eventual DLC if you wish.

I'm really not understanding the issue here, this is exactly what I expected: $20 credit.

Mostly I just forgot we were supposed to even get DLC codes, so being given free money half-spooked me.

Tried to log into BackerKit and it acted like I hadn't given my info or confirmed it (though it had my not-Kickstarter name pre-filled in). I guess maybe I had gotten in at one point, but hadn't made a BK account? Just made an account, but I don't see how I'm supposed to get my codes there.

I imagine they're going to work on the code duplicate thing. I can't say anything because I had a similar bug occur on a redemption site i programmed.. resulted in a very high dollar amount of codes being duplicated out. <_< was able to fix it.

separate to that: Harmonix has always given away "DLC codes" for rock band, dance central etc as money codes. I think the idea is they let you choose what DLC you want, or another game's DLC if you want that

I also got no codes, but, living in Canada, that's just the way it is. I was hoping the codes would be applicable to North America in general, like a lot of these offers are, but that wasn't the case this time.

Oh damn is that why we got no codes? Whenever I see US in regards to PSN stuff I always assume it just means NA. Aren't US PSN codes good in Canada as well?

Yea this. The credit was meant for Amplitude DLC but since its PSN credit, you can use it for anything else. So its your choice...use it now on anything or save it for the eventual DLC. (which it was meant for)

I haven't checked my codes yet. But it looks like I might have issues. This is stupid. Why do they have these $2 codes and not just give one single $20 code.

edit: Just tried mine, only two codes worked.

Because they're old codes Harmonix had laying around to give out Rock Band DLC, so it didn't cost them anything. If they had to pay Sony to give everyone a fresh $20 code they wouldn't have done it at all.

There's no excuse for them giving out duplicates though. That was a major screwup and I'm not sure how they're going to recover from it.

yea, I figured. I sent them a message in the comments AND a message in their FAQ link. They need to sort this out asap.

This makes the offer look super ghetto now.

awww shit. I haven't entered mine yet; are we saying that they gave dupes and they may have been used?

When the fuck is this out? I remember funding this and march was the projected date the it was pushed to an estimated time frame.

7/10, which is better than most

These were printed on cards that Harmonix would distribute at PAX, E3, etc.

It's not remotely surprising that some of them had been used already or expired.

New codes just got sent out. I got 10 new codes and they all worked.

Yeah, this is kind of a mess. 8 of my 10 codes worked yesterday, yet today I got 10 entirely new codes and they all worked. So I got 18 working codes for $39.42 total on PSN. Which is great for me, but not fair for the people who got no or only a couple working codes yesterday.

Hey, at the end of the day everyone is getting *at least* $20, instead of everyone getting $20.

Sounds like a win/win to me!

Well I must have gotten lucky, because my entire first batch of codes worked. I did have some trouble entering them in to the PSN site though. It gave me website errors after I'd enter like 4 in a row. I just waited about half an hour and didn't have any trouble after that.

I'm relatively certain they've always been up front that they'd be giving out PSN credit codes for the DLC. At least I've been under that impression since before the KS ended.

I can't believe Sony's online store is such an incredible piece of shit. If you input a valid code but it forwards you to the "Ooooops this link isn't working Error Code 809080" message, you lose the code but it never credits your account with the funds. Try and input your code again and you just get the "This code isn't valid" message.

So just a word of warning to anyone else out there -- as soon as you get that error message, stop trying to redeem codes. Come back in 10 minutes, since the error just seems to go away over time.

I lost at least only one $2 code today and one $2 code yesterday so I'm not really going to fight it, but holy fuck, what if that had been a $20 reload? I can't believe this is acceptable service.

yup, all ten codes worked. well, i guess having extra $4+ from this issue was a consolation. Altho people who had all 10 codes worked basically got double the action.

i didn't get the store error code this time either.

Nice I managed to redeem 5/10 so far but the PSN store started to say error. Guess I have to retry in a bit

edit: oh its tuesday. Everyone is probably flooding the store

smh

Yeah I lost one code because of that. 9/10 is fine i guess. =/

Huh, weird. I got that error about 4 times and all my codes still went through in the end.

Yeah, I got the error message about three times, but I still got all the funds for each code I was submitting when the error came up. Everyone gets a separate e-mail for each successfully redeemed code, right? It should be easy for people to make sure from their e-mail records whether the funds were still credited to the account when the error came up.

Still nothing!

No codes at all? Did you check https://amplitude.backerkit.com/ and there's nothing listed? Have you messaged them on Kickstarter?

This was happening to me after I entered two or three codes but I didn't lose anything as a result. I just figured it was an exception thrown when you enter too many codes in too short a time period. Each code that errored out went in successfully after I waited 30 minutes and tried again.

But yeah, the site is a bit awful.

I got 12 working codes after all was said and done.

Although I lost one code to this:

Which is bullshit. Not that I needed or deserved extra codes but marking the code as expired/used without giving funds is awful on Sony's part.

Yeah, I did all that.

Yeah, I did all that.

Let us know how it turns out. Seems like most of the problems were broken codes rather than not getting any, so if you don't hear back, you may want to try messaging them again to make sure your specific problem doesn't get overlooked among the flood of messages they must have been getting about the broken code issue.

Still don't have my codes. 40$pledge level, live in US. They simply aren't there. Had sent a message on K, and got response telling me to restore my backerkit info. I did that, and nothing. Replied to them about it, then got the "oops we had problems with codes" message today.

The codes are still M.I.A. Not n overly big deal, tbh I'd likely use them to buy a friend a copy of Axiom Verge. Really hope this gets sorted out for everyone sooner rather than later.
