Analysts Say Nintendo Switch 2 Announcement Now Unlikely Before End of 2024

So, when will Nintendo finally pull the curtain back on Switch 2? Reuters quoted Toyo Securities analyst Hideki Yasuda, who said an announcement is “unlikely” by the end of the calendar year.

"Making an announcement this year has gotten quite difficult,”

Yasuda said.

“You would not want to divert attention to an upcoming console in the middle of the critical year-end shopping season.”

If that prediction is on the mark, fans now face having to wait until January at the earliest for a Switch 2 announcement. As for a release date, the console is not expected to launch during Nintendo's current financial year, so April 2025 at the earliest.

That shit happening spring 2025 with a release of likely summer, early fall etc. They probably want to stay in that 6 month marketing to release range.

An analyst's job is so easy. It's November 5th. You think it'll be unlikely before the end of 2024? Geniuse.

Seems like it would be dumb to announce it now and likely hurt holiday Switch sales. They probably want to maximize those as much as possible for it’s final holiday season to clear some stock before announcing the successor’s release date, specs etc.

Every time someone predicts the Switch 2 announcement, it gets delayed 6 months. The only way we will ever get Switch 2 is when we stop anticipating Switch 2.

Instead of making predictions, I think the analysts should practice meditation and seek spiritual enlightenment. The only way to have the thing is to stop wanting. But if you want to stop wanting that means you still want something.

Who is it who wants Switch 2? Ponder this question for a lifetime and then you will have it.

Since the Switch launched so well, I'm a little surprised they didn't try and recreate that timeline and go for an early spring release. They don't need the holiday sales season to launch strong, and it puts them in a good position to get supplied for the first holiday.

I keep hearing about the financial collapse of the US in 2025. It might be hard to sell a high priced anything next year. :(
Hold onto those Switch 1's. They should work while living a nomadic life. Digital all the way. Less to haul around in a backpack.
