Nintendo Switch 2 likely to remain scarce until next spring: analysts

Nintendo fans are starting to attack another Nintendo fans it seems.

Anyway, there's no stock issues here in Australia. Europe receives the regular restock but the major issues are in the US and Japan.

A lot of deeply sensitive fanboys in this place.

Anyways, I am really enjoying my Switch 2, especially the backwards compatibility.

You guys are something else. How did you go from "I walked into a Gamestop and picked one up" to "Fanboys want this to fail ala Wii-U". LOL. Hilarious. I got the Mario Kart Bundle, which seems to be available at Gamestop in Canada quite frequently. I paid about 790 for it with tax. Do you want me to post a photo or something? I noticed my local Best Buy also has them available... So no this isn't some anecdotal evidence. Does your Uncle work for Nintendo or something? Imagine being this much of a fan drone. This console is much more available than the original Switch ever was, which is good for the consumer.
You are clearly mixing things up or are in total denial. I was not suggesting that you did not in fact manage to pick up a Switch 2 weeks after launch. All I was suggesting this was not proof of the system being available everywhere. Why this is so difficult for you to understand is a mystery lol. You also seem to struggling with he meaning of anecdotal as well.

How is it attacking people by suggesting their own personal experiences can hardly be taken as proof of total widespread availability?

Not struggling at all. Where I am from there is no shortage. Period.

Who care gives a fuck if there shortage or not? it doesn't change the fact the system is selling well.

I also if there is no shortage then great Nintendo came through with their promise and made enough units so people can pick it up much easier.

I don't want go through same crap I did trying to pick up PS5.

I like how fanboys thought they had nintendo fans against a wall by saying " they are in stock everywhere " at launch only to find out that it actually just kept getting restocked and selling through. 🤣 yet they keep clinging to that statement even now like it's the only way their brain can process it.

dkb bc with the og switch games and more to come.

Geez the Switch 2 haters are so fucking annoying. They don't even add anything to the thread, just jump in with a "who cares." Do you know how many times I could have whipped out a "who cares" first post on some bullshit I hated but controlled myself? The gaming world cares mate. > 50% of the people here care....Honestly, who hurt you? Jeez Louise why do you have so much hate built up for a console? Is it resentment? No amount of fanboyism is worse than a true hate crusade and I hope everyone realizes that now.

Anyway....

Okay on topic, I've been thinking this would be the case. At some point there will be a dip in demand before Christmas but it won't be long. The timing is perfect on the launch and holiday sales will start ramping up right after initial interest has dipped. The first time the Switch 2 will have an opportunity to fail will be next spring. I still haven't seen a working link online where I can buy a Switch 2 in the US. So they haven't even really opened up the floodgates yet.

on the first part same.
on the last part this i was hoping they would have a round the launch if dkb but sadly no.

There available on Nintendo store Amazon everywhere in uk not exactly scarce , normally companies say this in the hope people buy it thinking they might not get another chance

Great points but it's especially an issue in Japan.

It's practically a victim of its own success at this point. Sounds like the lottery system is there to stay until next Spring. Great for Nintendo (guaranteed constant sales) not so much for consumers (their purchase is entirely up to the luck of the lottery draw)

I don't think Nintendo is saying this. "analyst" is saying it.

PS: I got an email from the Nintendo store a few days ago saying my application to get Switch 2 had finally come round and I hopped on and purchased immediately(US). Mine arrived today! I have prolly 50+ Switch 1 games so I would end up being required to buy this no matter what. Glad I got in before DK and the holiday.

The memory card did not arrive yet....best buy says it is running late so I won't be playing till that comes in.

Local GameStop got a shipment in. The employee wasn't allowed to "discuss numbers" but she said it was a shipment "in the double digits."

Check your local stores!

Edit: Was there an official Switch 2 OT here? I don't remember... I'd like to post some questions there if there is such a topic.

Artificial scarcity would imply they created, say, 100K units for launch, as opposed to reality, which was stuffing the channels with as many Switch 2s as they possibly could. All this did was blow the doors off the previous biggest launches in the history of the industry.

Artificial scarcity MY ASS!

Literally any. Recently came back from Brooklyn. The Target in Caesars Bay had like 9 behind a display glass for sale. Here where I live in Orlando the Wal Marts in my area have them as well as the Targets. Only place I haven't seen them available is Game Stop.
Huh, that's pretty interesting. Nothing in DC Metro area (VA, DC, MD) as far as I know.

Gotta walk in my guy. I checked online as well. I was surprised when i found them in stock in person.

That's a lot of walking. 25 walmarts in the Orlando area. Probably a similar number of Targets.

Nevermind that the fact stores don't show stock online is a sign that supply is still tight. And a roll of the dice whether or not you can find one on the shelf.

The backwards compatibility is indeed one of the most underrated Switch 2 features. That is one thing we can both agree on. :)
It's literally the most hyped up feature imo, YouTubers already found a small gold mine for content with videos testing Switch 1 games and finding those that run the best

I've noticed this too. These videos are all over my feed now. It's always interesting to see what new genres of video blow up after a console launches.

Yes, I'm not interested in games without patches but sometimes I put them out of curiosity, I didn't even remember that Mortal Shell was on Switch, these videos literally remind you about long forgotten releases lol

Any idiot who went through the Wii and other Nintendo products has seen this. Nintendo thinks they command that attention. They do if you're a child, I guess.

This is a terrible take.

Also, Nintendo having loads of stock is a good thing. Its just not available in the UK and pretty much sold out everywhere. The stock comes in and literally goes straight out the door and it isnt even Covid demand.

Nintendo CRUSHING it and I love the salty tears it generates.
