Nintendo Switch 2 likely to remain scarce until next spring: analysts

Not sure how true this is. Have yet to go to a store that doesn't have them. Now, I couldn't get a pro controller anywhere for weeks though.

This is a terrible take.

Also, Nintendo having loads of stock is a good thing. Its just not available in the UK and pretty much sold out everywhere. The stock comes in and literally goes straight out the door and it isnt even Covid demand.

Nintendo CRUSHING it and I love the salty tears it generates.
I wouldn't call what they're doing as crushing it other than in sales. I've just as critical on Sony for their recent tendencies and Nintendo isn't exempt from that. Remember the Wii being on fire? That was the worst of the best selling systems ever by the end.

This seems to be a Country specific, and then a geographic issue in the US.

From what i've read here, Countries outside of the US have no problem walking in most of the time to any store and buying one.

Here in the US, it seems to be a mixed bag. I can tell you for certain, that here in Central Texas you can't just walk in stores and find them yet unless you happen to get lucky and stumble in within a day of a stock refresh. I had to get mine in a Best Buy Online drop a couple weeks back.

I'd say for US buyers for now, if you want to avoid the annoyance of going into store after store and finding nothing, your best best will be online drops at Best Buy and/or Walmart. Follow Wario64 on Twitter/X, and you'll know with plenty of leadtime when the drops are. I saw in the last day or so that Amazon US finally put them online but you have to request to be able to buy one via something you'll click on the product page. No doubt priority will go to Prime Members.

I have yet to see one in the wild (Central Florida)
Accessories and such is a non issue. I haven't had an issue grabbing games for mine either.

Where at in Central Florida? I live in Orlando and I have seen a few in the Target in Meadow Woods area, and the Wal Mart by the 192 in Kissimmee.

The amount of people in this thread that think because stores within 20 miles of their house don't have them, means it's like that everywhere in the world, is crazy. Yea, they are hard to get right now and stock is limited, but blatantly calling people liars for saying they have them in stores locally, is crazy work.

Kinda wanna wait until they reveal the next mainline Zelda game before making a decision on whether to buy a switch 2, the original switch is still having its moment.'

I got to finally put my hands on a Switch 2 at a local BestBuy and was generally pleased with the hardware. In saying that, my Switch is more or less an Odyssey and Zelda machine so I can't imagine I will be getting one anytime soon. Looking back to 2006-2008, the Wii felt like it was hard to find for years. I was working at Circuit City and then Sears while in college, and it took a very long time before we could ever keep them in stock longer than a day or two.

Why all scalpers? Plus it shows invitation for purchase, something they've started doing for high demand high priced items like some LEGO sets.

It's not scalpers. Amazon requires that you have a legitimate Account (Prime members probably get first dibs) and it's limited to one console per account. No one is scalping this from Amazon.

Plus the scalpers market on Switch 2 is not very profitable as Nintendo continues to provide a healthy and steady flow if supply. Also you don't make much ROI on the system after fees and shipping.

I ended up getting one directly through Nintendo. They sent me an email a little over a week ago with a link. That program must still be active.

Dunno why the photo is blurry but the GameStop in Hunters Creek in Orlando has em. And the one in Kissimmee on West Vine Street had 50 shipped to that store. I got both my boys one and went to the Kissimmee location and sure enough they did have them in stock.

Target had them for a week. Walmart has them though for some reason the bundle is 503 which is weird for a 3rd party but the base is in stock at the usual 450. Best Buy has them. They are not scarce now by any means. They are easier to get then Bananas in DK Bananza.
