Blurgh. I thought I finished every boss while in Rampage mode, but I didn't get the trophy. Unless those Gargoyles count, but I don't know how it's possible.

Also, can the Hard Mode trophies be unlocked with Stage Select?

You have to do one hard playthrough to unlike the difficulty in stage select I believe.

Really? Wow. Between the slow texture loading and poor PS3 performance, they certainly had me fooled.

I don't see any traces of UE mentioned in the licensing so I just assume it's using Platinums in house engine. Like I said the 360 version really isn't much better, we're talking about a difference of 5-8 FPS. I've played both versions and picked up the PS3 version since there's more players online.

5-8 frames is pretty significant

unless you're just saying a number to illustrate that there's no real difference.

I couldn't get any stage trophies to unlock in stage select. Unfortunately that means going through hard mode with Jack. Uuuuuuugh.

It is, and it's the minimum FPS that the PS3 has worse of, but what I was really trying to say is it's not something you're going to notice at all while you're playing, most of the heavy frame drops come in when there's just a ton of shit on the screen. Performance is pretty bad on both systems but I've literally had a 360 & PS3 copy sitting in front of me running at the same time and it's not significant enough to say there's a truly definitive version. This isn't a bayonetta 360/PS3 situation we're dealing with.

This is coming from someone who plays games at 120fps/120hz whenever possible.
Platinum, PC versions please :(

I prefer Jack way more to Leo. Leo is just slow. I love how Jack's combos move him behind the enemy.

Finished hard, now playing normal. It's a total joke compared to hard.

In the case of Durga+Garuda, start off in rampage mode and kill durga before it runs out, and the battle should be easy. This technique should also be used in leo's tag battle in Hong Long.

Finding games online on the 360 takes some time. Have yet to have a CTF match. Really want to try it out.

Oh I thought the 5-8 frame difference was from your personal experience

and yeah that's why those tests don't really hold any weight with me as far as determining a definitive version.

I honestly just pulled numbers from my ass even though I've seen the actual FPS comparisons between the two versions. Should have just said my point was that either version is fine but PS3 has more people online.

Regarding online, how many EU PS3 players are in here?

OMG. The Douglas mission on Hard is a biiiiiiitch.

Beating Douglas on his own is hard enough without the three waves of mutants afterwards.

As a Big Bull user, I oddly find Jack most problematic to fight against. Him and Mathilda.

Big Bull is a big target, but damn is throw is so powerful. It has amazing range and takes 3/4 of someone's life bar. I think it's throw, not sure though. All I see is people love to use that move, when playing him.

I was just hoping I get rampage and running like a scary cat at the same time. Once, I got it, took care of the enemies and BAM another 3 pop up. Most tense battle in the game.

Edit: Sorry for the double post.

Seraphis Cain

bad gameplay lol
Man, there is absolutely no consistency to how well I do in this game at all. :lol I might get like second or third place in a battle royale, then the next match with mostly the same people I'll get like 12th place. Crazy.

Also, if you're in a TDM, for the love of fuck don't split off from your team. The second a team splits off and goes their own way, they've lost. Every time I've been on a TDM team that's gotten curbstomped, it's because nobody knew how to stick together.

Eh? Do you just mean Bull's basic grab and slam where he does like the squatting Buddha pose at the end? Or maybe his running grab?

But whatevs, I play this to thwack-a-doodle-doo them with Ai Rin's lightning 'chuks.
Hell yeah, Ai Rin's KW is the best.

Almost done with black side on normal, and then I unlock another side right? Then I'll work on those SP trophies. Hard sounds pretty tough.

Bull's running grab is pretty tricky to pull off, though. It requires a window of uninterrupted charging and then actually hitting your target, who is presumably far away and moving all over.

It's a great move to have in team multiplayer modes, where your opponent doesn't have your attention all the time.

I'm going to play a few Survival rounds. Lobbies are small in that mode, but if anyone wants me to try and invite them, I'm rotothirteen on PSN.

What I like to do with Bull is simply leap into a "fray in progress" with my hammer swinging in a circle. It bludgeons everyone back multiple times and comes off as such an incredibly rude interruption, lol.

Played 5 online matches tonight, has led me to three observations.

1) hacking/lag - Lots of it. Atleast 2 players a game were untouchable due to teleporting around. I wasn't sure if this is lag based, or an exploit of some type.

2) Gangbanging - Couldn't get a single good fight off, constant dazing by a group of people was rage inducing. Lots of kills if you ran around with a group of friends.

3) I suck at fighters.

So I finally tried the online earlier. Battle Royal is goddamn madness.

But what's the deal with these duels? I drop kicked some guy playing Zero and it initiated a duel, loaded for like 4 minutes and then I was the only one standing there. Couldn't move, rest of the match played out with me sitting in an arena alone. When the match ended I realized I'd gotten disconnected from the match. :|

I have this game looking me in the face and I haven't played it all weekend. It's in the plastic and everything. Someone give me a reason to play it! D:

Semblance

shhh Graham I'm still compiling this Radiant map
So what's the deal with Bayonetta's airguns thing. I remember someone talking that up earlier in the thread, but I can't even tell if I'm hitting people with them. Kinda don't like jumping unless I have to anyway, it seems risky.

I don't think that mission is beatable.

I dare someone to prove me wrong.

I don't have video evidence but I have played and won the mission 2 out of 3 times.
The two people I played can vouch for that, we must have played 5 hours straight.

That one time though, holy smokes those guys do not mess around.

It's tremendous fun! It'll probably take you a night to accustom to its ways, however, so might as well warm up to it tonight. The community's really active right now.

Speaking of which, I hope GAF can keep the community going down the road when things have simmered down a bit. A part of me is faintly hopeful that this game will have a steady fanbase outside of GAF, as well. There aren't many games like it -- people will inevitably nostalgia for its addictive brawling and come back.

EDIT: I've beaten all of the Mad Survival stages at least once. Which ones are you guys saying is impossible?

Man I am getting gangbanged by Durga and Garuda on hard.

Any tips? As soon as they fight starts they have me air stun locked until I come back on my seocnd try then they do it again. Sasha is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
