Desktop Firefox is serviceable. It has plugin support. I can use it to browse porn sites.

Mobile firefox is useless.

Mobile Chrome is equally useless.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
I can easily count 10 browsers better than firefox.

10 Android browsers.

No desktop sync and no extension support means it has to be leaps and bounds better at just rendering than Firefox.

Only browsers and that is would fit this bill would be be the stock browser and dolphin provided you have jet pack installed.

Chrome and Firefox are about even speed wise. Both have sync, but chrome doesn't support flash or extensions. Firefox is a little less janky scrolling wise but neither are great.

Opera is on a I need to use turbo scenario only choice.

Falcon Pro is the first exclusive Android app, that I've used, that actually makes the platform feel like its own awesome thing. Not getting IOS' scraps.

Not really sure where else to ask this, so I'll ask it here. I have it set so every time I import something into iTunes it uploads it to Google Music. But let's say I edit the labels after I import it, like changing songs names/album names stuff like that. It gets reflected on my iTunes (obviously) but not Google Music. Is there anyway to get GM to reflect the changed in my iTunes library?

Not sure if everyone knew about Aurora the pre-beta version of Firefox on Android. You will have to enable downloading from unknown sources but this does come straight from Mozilla.

I'm pretty sure it has a different look from Firefox and even Firefox Beta on the Play Store. Here's the link to the download page if you want to try it out:

so i was messing around with Bluetooth pairing PS3 and Wii controllers yesterday... lots of Nexus 4.2 complaints in app comments. what's up with Google? did they that Bluetooth pairing of that stuff is worthless or too confusing like SD cards?

The music manager doesn't look for changes to tags so the only way to do it is from the website I guess.

Probably borked. Not purposely.

one can hope its just hitting critical mass enough that they have to pay attention

Let's hope.

It's still crazy to me that there's not a dedicated market of tablet apps like iPad on Android (only things like "Tablet picks"). Nobody even knows how many tablet apps there actually are on Android because there's no way to tell. I was once a huge proponent of Android tablets but not remotely anymore. I'd love to get back into them, but they have a long way to go regarding the app situation.

The New York Times android app is now optimized for tablets.

This appears to be happening a ton lately.

Yep. It's almost to the point where I can legitimately switch from my iPad. I'll still need stuff like Reeder but otherwise, I can see myself switching.

because Google doesn't want separate apps. They just want the app to reflow itself when you have a larger screen.

All of the 4.2 complaints from major sites was completely idiotic stuff like the December bug or the lockscreen looking a little weird, real problems like bluetooth being completely messed up (it's not just controllers that are affected) got overlooked.

Question: Is Reeder just an RSS newsreader? There are a ton of decent ones for Android. What is it that makes Reeder special?

It is. It just feels nice. I like Good News on my Note just fine, especially because of offline article downloading, but it doesn't have that same feel. There's no other way for me to quantify why I prefer Reeder. It's just nice.

I'm looking forward to the Android version of Circa http://blog.cir.ca/

hope they update the G+ app for communities soon. I can't keep using the web for that on my phone. I actually like the way the G+ app looks, so it'll be nice to visit GAFDroid from there.

Do you guys not like Google Reader? It's pretty sufficient as a reader. I don't really find the need to use any 3rd party reader.

weren't a lot of the bluetooth bugs fixed in 4.2.1? There were some pretty heft bluetooth issues with 4.2.

I use google reader as my online rss reader (for offline reading I use Feedr and Pocket and Reader HD).

I would like to have image pre cache.

Google Reader is functional, but a bit basic. Reader HD is really customisable and the magazine UI is better suited to tablets.

Google Now gives concert recs now too!? I just got one based off my YT history, and its actually one I'm going to hit up now.

This is so awesome, its scary.

That looks awesome. Does it fully sync read status?

Pretty sure it does. There's a free version, so give it a bash. In other news I finally ordered something online and when I opened Now I got a package tracking card. Seriously impressed. Yes it's not new, but I'd kind of forgotten about it and here was Google reminding me.

I know, but we don't know what apps fill reflow for the larger screen, so it would be nice if there was some way to easily know what apps are optimized.

Every time I go into the App part of the Play Store on my tablet I see two tiles leading to tablet optimized apps.

It's cool but what would be cooler is if it told you more than just shipped. I never get delivered or a new notification when it reaches another stop. Just shipped.

My Milestone is dead and I'm locking for some tips for à new phone. Budget is 350 Euros max, cheaper is better of course. I'm not a fan of huge screens, prefer a screen of 4" or even a bit smaller. I'd like something with decent battery life, good support for updates and a nice screen. It should be powerful enough to provide a snappy interface, but won't really use it for intensive tasks.

The Nexus 4 is not sold here btw, so that's not an option.

Anyone got some tips?
