I linked my Axon 7 to my Bluetooth speaker that I bought 2 years ago. Man, it sounded worse. It really made me appreciate my phone's dual front facing speakers.
is there really anything left to be said about the axon 7 atm?
solid hardware, not the best camera processing software. And the 'additions' to somewhat stock android are all kinda blergh.
They mentioned they are working on fixes to the common complaints, so hopefully we get those sooner than later.
I mean the whole thing is if the module is better than what's stock people would just rather have the module built in.
Unless of course it can't be built in due to space in which case consumers could give a fuck. Obviously you can't find a DSLR lens on your smartphone, but they sell stand alone cameras for that.
Other than just space and storage idk what else people would even want that they wouldn't say just build it in.
Pretty much the only negative is whether or not their promise to keep the phone updated in a timely manner is all talk.
I'm enjoying it myself.
Cases arent sexy seems to be the main pitch.
Last year's is getting monthly security updates and got marshmallow in Feb so it's about in line with most oem.
look at the Nexus 5X. Prices drop to $250 all the time. Expect lower after next gen is out soonish.
I just learned iOS doesn't have a haptic feedback option for their keyboard.
How do people live without it?
I always turn it off immediately. I don't know how anyone can stand to use it.
Yeah, that was the other one I was thinking about. Better processor than the P9000, but less RAM, no SD Card support. And I believe it isn't compatible with 800Mhz 4G? Not sure if that would effect me at all though.

We would like to make you aware of a device update that is currently available on your Axon 7. This update(B20) provides some enhancements to the UI, includes a new Google Security update and optimizes battery performance. Most of your ideas here in the community are currently being reviewed by our R&D team to be verified and tested for upcoming releases. You can perform the update on your device by going to Settings-->Updates--> then pressing the "Next" button. Your device will see the new update and ask if you want to download and install. Stay tuned, we have some more surprises up our sleeve this week!!
so do i have anything to worry about?

The misses forwarded me this, but cant tell if its as serious as this article suggests.
I dont really want to d/l that app they are suggesting either :/
Not really, unless you download and install unverified APK's from shady sources.
And make sure to use an adblocker on porn sites.
I'm pretty sure 99% of all malicious stuff on the internet is gotten from porn sites.
Really annoying how solid the adblocker setup is on ios compare to android which requires rooting, or using firefox or other browsers that I've always found a bit clunky.
Axon 7 is on July update. Some of the battery menu UI changed, don't see an option to turn off the bell for notification yet but will dig around.

I'm so glad with microSD support. My use cases so far:
- offline storage of Spotify content so you can listen everywhere (e.g. during commute) without any extra mobile data usage
- virtual reality content
- via article: offline Google Maps areas
- use your device as USB stick
Anyone have any more use cases for an overabundance of disk space?
I have a 128GB microSD.
I just noticed I got an update as well.
A post on Weibo showing off some promotional material for the Galaxy Note 7s launch in China claims that the price for the 6GB RAM / 128GB storage model will be 6088 yuan ($910). This would make the phone just a tad more expensive than the regular model that features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which is stated to retail for 5688 yuan ($853).
That seems like a rather small price difference for a notable upgrade to storage space, so again treat this rumor with some scepticism. After all, were still waiting for an official launch in China to confirm the existence of the 6GB RAM model anyway. According to the same post, we should see Chinese pre-orders begin on August 26th, ahead of a September 2nd release date. So there isnt too long left to wait.
it should still be under warranty right? get that looked at before it expires.Okay now I'm really worried about my 6p battery I had at least 15% left and it just shut itself off.

Yeah it is and I'll file a claim. But I'm still thinking they're going to just say it's my fault since I dropped it and make me pay for it.
I don't think thats how any battery tech works lol.
It's not like the battery is a mario powerup where it gets smaller everytime it takes damage.

i was reading that portable charger thread and it reminded me of you.Join me in the wireless present, you futuristic mother fucker.
Haptic feedback is terrible. I remember the first time typing on a friends' N4 and had to turn that shit off. What is the point of vibrating feedback? It seems like a waste of resources.
I just replaced my note 4 battery for a new one a few days ago. Did the same thing. I took some screen shots of the battery screen but the guy at the Samsung stand i went just believed me and replaced it at no cost. I love having two year warranty here in Spain. So my almost two years old phone feels like newOkay now I'm really worried about my 6p battery I had at least 15% left and it just shut itself off.
I don't need or want to feel every touch because with a touch screen device you are looking at the screen and keyboard while typing. When typing on a traditional keyboard you are looking at the screen instead of the keyboard, so the feel of the keyboard is important. It's to simulate the press on a keyboard button. You can feel every touch. Without it I find myself to be too cautious while typing.
Also, if you have the keyboard open and you accidentally touched the keyboard (eg you were typing but have to cross the road), you immediately know it since you felt a touch. No need to check the typed content first.
Though note you can customize the vibration duration. I prefer it quite short.
The vibration should in no way be that strong that it hinders or annoys you.

The major downside to it.Maybe fast charging harms batteries faster than standard charging.
It's nice to have, but whatever helps get maximum battery life...I just learned iOS doesn't have a haptic feedback option for their keyboard.

Fast charging kills batteries much faster than slow charging. The amount of thermal and electrochemical stress placed on the battery by fast charging dramatically shortens it's lifespan. This isn't a big deal on a phone with a user-replaceable battery like the Note 4. On phones without user-replaceable batteries, you better stick to that 2-year upgrade cycle because it's about how long a battery constantly being fast-charged will last before it dies.
