Okay, so after much hesitation (I was torn between physical and digital), I finally caved in and decided to buy a POPTART XL instead of the game. I wanted to make the change to a 3DS XL for a long time now, so this was the perfect opportunity to do it. I wasn't planning on going digital but well, this might be exactly the kind of game you want to own digitally.

I don't really know how transferring datas between two 3DS works. I just want to send the content of my original 3DS to the XL New Leaf without having to erase the game on the new SD card and download it again ? I don't know if that's possible ? (and I don't even know if I made myself clear)

Hey guys, quick question: what are all the important permanent decisions you can make? I remember your face, name and town name being permanent in AC:WW. Are there any that I missed, or new ones?

The town layout doesn't change when you make it. (River, etc.) Plus where you place houses.

Face, name, town, house position (mayor),
Dream Suite, Club lol, Cafe position, Reset Center position, Police Station position. Ones in spoilers cannot be erased/removed from your town.
Mayor's house can be erased, but you'll erase your town with it. You can freely delete other PC villagers, though.

I'm assuming you mean the "wallpaper and carpet" of the tent as the inside appearance? No, you can't. Sahara even refuses to work with you if you have the tent, so you cannot change anything about it aside placing items inside.

As someone who did literally just this earlier today, I can tell you that it's not possible to do without re-downloading the game. Perform a system transfer from your current 3DS to the Poptart (the Poptart requires a system update first) and once finished, open the eShop on the Poptart. Go to your Download History and download your copy of Animal Crossing.

Congrats! The camp is going to be one of the first community projects I'm going to build, I want to get Lucha/Jacques ASAP if they aren't in my town.

Also, I'm filling in the FC form from the OT, and this has brought up a few more questions:

1. What do the 'R' and 'X' town ratings mean? I'm not really familiar with American content ranking systems.

2. Can you chat in the game? I will most likely keep my town SFW (no filthy letters/catchphrases/tiles outside of the rare joke), but I may casually swear in conversations (i.e. 'this is fucking great'). What content rating should I pick?

3. When will the friendcode list be available?

4. What town name should I pick? I want to either go with 'The Moon', but I'm uncomfortably attracted to the name 'Yoloburg'.

He is by far my favourite villager from the Gamecube and I reset almost 70 times to try and get him in Wild World but he never came.

This is like the best thing ever for me Animal Crossing wise and a week before my exam too, confidence boost get. :D

1. R = Restricted, Only 17+, X = XXX, basically pornographic, can't be shown in theaters.

2.Yes, with Best Friends out of communication play, and with anybody in your town when playing together. I'd go for PG-13.

3.It's on the first page, just quote the post.

4. I'd go with The Moon. Haven't heard it as a town name before.

1. R = teaching your villagers to use profanity or adult language. X= pornographic material presumably using the custom pattern feature :X

2. Yes

4. Please not yoloburg...

Welcome!

1) R is like an M-rated game. Swearing and dirty jokes but nothing overtly offensive. X means anything goes level of filth. 4Chan levels.
2) You can chat. I'd suggest PG-13.
3) It already is. Quote the OP and you'll see the link at the top of the post.
4) It's like naming your kid except you can technically get your kid's name legally changed.

There's no way for the digital and retail versions to mess with each other right? Getting the retail copy to bide my time for the poptart which should come 1-3 days after.

To add to this: I'm getting the poptart but say I wanted to get a retail copy. If I delete the digital version is my save deleted with it?

Digital saves to SD card, Cart saves to Cart. You can play with eachother, they just have to be on seperate 3DS's.

you should be fine, I would recommend that when you transfer, backup game save to PC and then reload once everything has been transferred?

naw it's cool. I'll just start over with my digital copy. I'll play with the retail copy, delete data when poptart comes, give the retail to my younger siblings.

The boxart is so good and FS is giving away $10 credit when I buy the game so win-win for me.

Do you think I should go check out some retail stores like Target, Walmart, or Best Buy for to see if there's early copies of AC? I have seen some people got copies that early! D:

So, I was this close to having a copy from bestbuy. I was on the phone, said they had copys in stock, go to the store, don't have it out, keep looking through the isle with some guy, then he gets another guy who checks in the back. The guy tells me it comes out the 4th, after I lied and told him I didn't know when it comes out. He can't figure out why it came out the 4th but they didn't have it on shelfes. He checks the system which tells him it's the 9th, that it comes out.

When I transferred, I just moved my folders onto my desk top (from SD card)

did the transfer and then put them on my new bigger SD card, all was good..
