So My brother just bought a 3DS and an actual solid copy of Animal Crossing New Leaf. I want to play too, but you can only have one town per game and I want to be Mayor also and experience the game. If I buy a digital copy on his 3DS, can we both have our different towns without the saves overlapping or something?

Actually, if it's his 3DS, you should probably just buy your own physical copy. Save files are stored on the game cards.

Yeah they are. But don't expect villagers to be handing them out like they did in Wild World, I haven't got one picture yet and I've been playing since UK launch.

If you buy your own copy, I don't see why it wouldn't work though I am not so sure...
Though, I suggest to play in the same game together, making effort together will help you grow more smoothly your town and who knows which of you will drop the game first.
