I bought a Redmi Note 10 around 2 years ago. It does everything I need, it looks good and it was cheap as shit. My wife has the new Apple phone. It's impressive as shit but there's no way I'd buy one of them. I'd be too scared to take it out the house.

Since every phone is made in China, technically all phones are Chinese phones. Your iPhone and Samsung Galaxy are all made in China.

I have a OnePlus 10T and I like it a lot. It's nice to be able to throw it on the charger for literally 10 minutes and hit 80% and go out my door. I don't ever think about charging and my battery level anymore.

So if Russia made half decent phones and tech you'd all be rushing out to buy the latest Comrade Mobik 2.0 phone?? I don't understand supporting countries like Russia, China etc.. y'all realize how fucking evil the CCP are? They'll do to Taiwan exactly what the Russians are doing to Ukraine if given half the chance.

The western world should not be doing business with authoritarian brutal regimes, we should be developing our own industries and shutting off countries that act like cunts imo
Agreed, I say we drop freedom bombs on them like we did in Irak and Afghanistan, they are still thanking us for freeing them over there.

I wouldnt have any branded Chinese shit in my house, a: the CCP are absolute fuckers and I will in no way support anything to do with them or their Russian like imperialist mentality, b: I wouldn't trust China as far as I could throw a Chinaman with any digital information belonging to me and c: the Chinese are a fucking blight on this planet with their utter lack of respect for our oceans, their contempt for anyone not Chinese and for subjecting the entire population of planet earth to fucking COVID... Now the local lads at my takeaway are GBOL

Society at large has already decided whether to trust China and they gave away the store. Chinese companies already make all the parts in everything you use and own giant stakes in gaming. They even had known backdoors in networking equipment, and no they weren't Chinese brands either. So what are you going to do? Just never use anything made in a Chinese factory ever again? Yeah right.

I get your sentiment and I try to avoid supporting China any more than necessary on principle (some of their cheaper knockoff shit is tempting lol) but let's not be delusional that we have the option to take control of our contribution to China just by avoiding brands.

I love my iPhone and that is basically a Chinese phone, but without the cancerous and repugnant chinese spyware. Fuck China <3

America spyware is so much better and less cancerous I hear I actually prefer it but you know I love the cameras on chinese phones so I'll settle for Chinese spyware.

I tried a one plus once, it was the one with no punch hole camera but a rising telescopic. although it felt solid I was ultimately disappointed. android auto was shit on it compared to Samsung phones and the cameras were terrible despite the internet claiming the cameras were "premium" level.

I'm not defending anyone just calling out about Chinese phones being shit.
again i didnt called chinese phones shit.🤣

i used "shit" as stuff/anything.

i am not a fan of brands or shit. in this case, I searched "best mid-range phone to buy" here in Mexico the overwhelming majority (if not all) of the tech tubers recommended the sub-brand of Xiaomi called Poco. and i bought that....is awesome. but i dont give a shit. if next time they recommend a Samsung or whatever well...value for money baby

My current and previous phones are OnePlus phones. I have the OnePlus 11... Best phone I've ever owned! Kicks Samsung down the road! Iphone who?

Then again I always root for an underdog ... And OnePlus is continuously underappreciated. My battery life, screen on time, OS speed, etc are why I adore this phone! The camera ain't half bad either! Better than what most people expect!

For those concerned about CCP spying, it's possible to debloat these android phones using ADB.
On some phones, it's even possible to install a custom rom, like Lineage OS or ASOP.

Mine is taiwanese and probably assembled in mainland china (Asus), so technically not China but not China.

I don't know if I would trust China with my biometrics and my bank app.

You'd be able to see individual pubes with a proper mobile phone camera 🤣
Tbh the photos this camera takes are spot on for my liking, same with the video and I take a shit ton of photos when out and about with the kids, the 10 optical zoom is great for getting in that bit closer without losing detail, the low light is practically voodoo magic and the 4k video captures everything. It's so good I can see me keeping this one for a few years tbh unless there's a massive change in camera tech

I am down with a camera phone in a form of actual mirrorless camera with proper grip and view finder + replaceable lenses and physical qwerty keyboard that pops out and all. Preferably made by Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fuji and Leica…. but not Chinese.

I am a big fan of Xiaomi and their phones. Took a bite years ago with the Mi 4C model and since then i buy only Xiaomi for me and wifey. We went through Mi's, Redmi's, Notes - and as the years went by they were getting better and better.

But after they got to the top...

They're quite expensive nowadays.

... They just had to pump the prices and i went from their premium models to their mid-range.
I guess it had to happen someday 🤷🏻‍♂️ any other brand that is priced like early Xiaomi?

I have a xiaomi realme something. How is it with the new Chinese phones? Do you still have access to the playstore? Is one limited in any way?

No.

I don't trust them to honour their warranties and to develop decent software. Nor do I trust them with my data. At all.

And morally I just can't. You can mock me for that, call me racist/xenophobic/etc., hypocritical even as I do use products made in China. But to so wholly support a Chinese company is something I on a very personal level can't do.

Have been using OnePlus phones for years without a problem, currently got a Nord 2T. Decent phone, decent price, OS is good, regular updates and unless it breaks, I'll be probably still using it years from now (only upgraded from my previous phone due to 5G).

Im going to import the 13s ultra even with the mark up and shipping fees it's about $200 less than a Samsung or Apple.

The OnePlus 11 is 699 for the 8gb/128gb model and 799 for the 16/256 model. The battery is amazing! Camera is competitive with the best ones on the market. 4 years of OS updates. Most things they got right with this phone! And the charging speed is great! You can get the 100w charging brick on the OnePlus store (if you're in the US) ... Unless you already have it (if you're international).

Been using Honor phones for a while now, so far I'm happy with them.

They're chinese yeah, but you can't go wrong with them if you're looking for a a good price - performance ratio.
