Anyone moving from PS to XBOX this generation? Hello....

I'm really only a multiplatform gamer. COD and Rocket League etc.

I went to PS4 last generation solely because of the power difference but always preferred the XBOX controller.

I'm not interested in RPG's, TLOU, Spiderman, GOW and all those run around hack slash games. I'll probably give Cyberpunk a go because of 1st person and that whole setting.
I think I just prefer competitive skill games over story driven. If I want a story I prefer watching movies.

So again probably just down to $ per Terraflop, I'm going back to XBOX. Am I the only one?

I'm sure I'll end up with both at some point but I'll likely wait and see where this goes. The current consoles are perfectly fine for another while as was proved by the "next gen" showcases.

There's nothing wrong with that.

This gen, Microsoft actually made a compelling product to rival the Playstation so it's not really surprising for people to either switch to Xbox or also buy an Xbox after buying the PS5.

If you are not interested in games from PlayStation studios, you are the perfect candidate for a series s or a pc.

I think it's logical decision in your case OP. But talk about a bland taste in games.

About that...

Do people really only play on ONE console? I have a PS4, XBOX One, and and Switch. As time goes on, I will have a XBOX Series X, PS5, and whatever new is coming from Nintendo.

Yeh I refuse to pay two subscriptions for online play, so I pick one only.

I'm dying laughing at some of you guys responses. This isn't a war. This isn't some religion. Get a grip lol. None of you guys should care what platform the other person chooses. And vise versa. Most games are going to be multiplatform with crossplay.

Some of y'all seriously need to get laid and let out all that pent up frustration. Maybe play some games for once?

To the OP: Good choice is you prefer multiplayer games and like the power difference.

PC would be the better choice though

Good one Sherlock :)

But yeh I'm over that now and I did come around to seeing Sony's reasoning, even though Its still a little ridiculous.

Honestly, if Sony put out the more powerful console, months on from that I would of disgraced myself and bought a PS5.

Maybe, outside of Demon's Souls I see nothing in the first year line up on PS5 that I really want to play. I feel that third party multiplayer games will likely end up best on XSX so I'm tempted to jump ship especially if my PS5 pre order gets substantially delayed.

And it's not like I'm going to get rid of my PS4, it will be around to play all those Sony cross-gen games.

Totally makes sense especially if you aren't in awe of the sacred & holy Sony games . Personally after hearing how awesome they are constantly, I was totally underwhelmed when I finally got a PS4.

Xbox will likely have games more to your liking and you can play those and 3rd parties on the most powerful console for the same price as the weaker one.

I will never ever buy a Microsoft console haven't ever had the need for one they have nothing that remotely piques my interest and plus I hate Microsoft as a company I try my best to avoid them like the plague they are I don't even use windows if I can help it. So no I won't be switching from playstation to answer the question. ✌

I don't get the point of these threads: am I the only person in the Universe that feels this way? Am I really THIS unique?! Is there anyone else out there to validate my feelings because I have so little confidence in myself and the decisions I make?!! Or, let's stir the pot with this hot take!

Hyperbole and jokes aside, seriously dude, no, you're most likely not the only person in the entire world that feels that way. If that's what you want to do, you do you, especially if you're only going to do multiplat games, I guess it makes sense in that context... unless you already have a PC, in which case you're a dumb dumb.

All the first party holy games as someone has said seem all the same to me.

Uncharted, TLOU, GOW, Spiderman, Horizon. - They all seem exactly the same. Third person, run aroundthon hack shooter slashers.

I wish they would mix it up a little more. Driveclub was good.

Nope, already pre-ordered PS5. Waiting for Xcloud to come to Brazil so I can install Gamepass app on my Android TV and play with a DS4(saw a guy do that using Nvidia Shield TV, same OS) to try a few games for $1, don't touch Xbox hardware since 360.

It's as if you love receiving a lump of coal for Christmas

You don't need PS gamers to justify your purchase. It has more teraflops if that's what you want..

..This is just dumb though.

So you didn't actually play these games?

I'm which case, yes, it's a waste for you to stick with a platform where the games are not suited to your tastes.

Me slagging off all the AAA Sony games not going to go down well, ignore my game taste preferences people. This is what you become when you get bored of games.

I'm just in for the point / goal scoring now. Watch movies instead of collecting 100 orbs or whatever.

tldr - XBOX seems to be the fit for my shallow gaming needs.

Hmm... I picked up an X1X on a whim on sale at Xmas and it's been a cool experience. Gamepass, especially. I haven't touched an Xbox aside from when Lost Odyssey came out. I only play MMOs and multi-plats (ESO) so it's the perfect ecosystem for me (FFXIV coming soon). So weird as I've been a die-hard PS player since the PSX era; shout out to Vagrant Story—where's the Goddamn remake?!!!

But yeah, it's a very appealing box if you're not into cinematic AAA stuff. I finished GoW, but couldn't do Spider Man, Horizon or the rest so PS just isn't my jam anymore.

At least I won't have a problem preordering lol Well, I better not.

Even if it is so, does it make you feel good to own a XBox? Go ahead: it's your money and you should spend it where you rather prefere.

Now, if they actually were to show some real gameplay captured from their console, maybe we could debate about it.
