. The open hate for it just feels weird though. It's not like Smash 4 is the first fighting game to feature characters built to play defensively. Maybe the difference is that this time around it actually seems like those characters can be top-tourney viable? Rushdown builds viewer hype, I get it, but it's disappointing if people only want to support games where that's the only style people are willing to respect.

I hate rushdown sets, and I enjoyed Dabuz's set against Pac-Man since I've never seen that matchup. The only reason the Diddy mirror was fun was because the crowd decided to shit on it.

That's because Shiek can't kill until well past 100%.

They should really move Smash4 over to TeamSpooky channel as soon as 64 is done IMO.

That would make things take longer because of having to switch setups.

True but if there is a time limit on the venue then this could be compromising the melee tournament. I wouldn't put the blame on dabuz though, I'd put it on the rules.

Pretty obvious that around midnight was a HARD time limit, the venue was being vacated and salty suite was ended early because of that, and all the things happened to APEX considered being late is one thing, but saying you have the entire tournament "on time" when it's clearly not up to the proposed schedule just means not only tournament goers suffer but viewers (especially european and similar viewers watching at like 4AM+) do aswell.

You guys don't realize first impressions are everything. Brawl had less issues than Smash 4 does right now and still never outlived the hate it got. That's all I have to say, I'll probably watch GF but I'm out. Watch Final Battle on Clash Tournaments and you'll see why I'm being a debbie downer or overreacting, this game is capable of so much more.

Sonic matches are notoriously known for being slow. Those Sheik dittos were painful. It's not just Dabuz he's just the prime example.

Won teams in melee and teams in smash4. 5th in smash4 singles (but messed around way too much cuz i wasnt taking it serious enough). 9th in melee singles - my 2nd worst tournament of the year for melee singles. Lost to leffen and shroomed. I think i played far better yesterday and i still believe that the way i played yesterday was good enough to take the tourney but none of that happened today unfortunately.

I hope you're right, but this is top 8 so they are going to play, VERY SAFE, this means it's going to be up to the game to reward and punish the correct things to make this not happen. Not the player's fault. They are playing the game at a higher level than everyone else or they wouldn't be where they are.

Meta has to evolve/be able to evolve beyond this.
