If you order now you may not get one until the end of April, so might as well do it now...unless funds are tight until then. It might ship earlier for all we know.
If it's like ATT 3G plans are month to month pay as you go with auto renewal, but you can cancel at any time. You can tether with your Droid but you'll probably need to pay an extra $20 or so to get tethering added onto your phone plan, assuming your Droid can do tethering. It won't be unlimited for the tethering, although I'm not sure how they check that.

What the what? This needs to be optional.
Yeah I have no problem with fancy stuff, but anything that does really really needs a easily accessible "view normal site" button somewhere.

I use thumb typing in portrait mode. I'm used to this from my mobile phone and I'm faster of the bat. Holding the iPad this way is now tolerable with the new design of the iPad 2. Some folks will suggest that you should try touch typing on the landscape keyboard and you'll get used to it after "a few weeks". I believe this is a waste of time; the landscape keyboard takes up more screen estate and it wont be as good as typing on a proper full featured keyboard. There is a reason that Jobs et al liked to denigrate the keyboards on netbooks as small and cramped before the iPad came along. Which ever one you pick, make sure to keep the keyboard clicking sounds on as that feedback is very helpful.
(p.s. Anybody else notice that stuff below the toolbar in iCab, directly below the bookmark icon? What's up with that?)
I got used to landscape typing in a few minutes, I can do around 60-80wpm in it. The keyboard is landscape is actually really close to full size...cause it's not a full keyboard, they didn't have to shrink it down to fit all the extra keys from a regular keyboard. The main thing with either keyboard is to just hit the keys without thinking too much and hope the autocorrect does it's thing (annoyingly the iPad autocorrect doesn't seem as aggressive as the iPhone sometimes).
As for iCab, do you mean that little 6 dot grid icon? That's Quickstarter, it's kind of like Top Sites in desktop Safari, except with manual entries (it doesn't auto populate, you just "add to Quickstarter" like you would a bookmark).

Hey gaf whats the bst case for the iPad 2? I have the $40 Targus case and I don't like it that much. I'm looking for something that will also let me use it as a stand. Also, will stream to me allow me to download and save files that I transcode to my iPad so I could watch it later?
Depends how much you need a case and how much you need a stand. If you just need a stand that's easy to carry around, that's basically what the Smart Cover is. If you need a case...I don't know. StreamToMe doesn't do downloading.

They must be using technology from the future.
Technically it is from the future relative to the iPad release (although realistically I'm sure all the parts were available and Apple was just going with the cheapest for extra profit).

Shooting video wouldn't use more battery than streaming, right? Sounds like you would run out of storage well before battery.
Depends on streaming and video decoding vs writing to flash constantly, powering the camera, feeding the screen live, and the video encoding...and maybe more screen brightness (since you'll probably be moving around more and might have to deal with more lighting conditions).

would someone mind posting a picture of the white ipad and your impressions? i found a white one but i'm not convinced i want it yet.
Pictures already posted, so I'll just post impressions. I like it. It sort of makes the screen fill the space better since the black gives the effect of a big ass empty space border (like black bars on widescreen) whereas the white is more of a blatant frame, the content seems closer to the edge with it. I've heard others say it's distracting but I (and others) haven't had a problem with it, it's a big ymmv thing.
I used my old iPad case temporarily with it, and in there it looked like ass though. The black wrap around the edge with the white bezel just didn't look good to me.

Stream to me: Does not use Airplay yet. Has an awesome mac client for free to watch video via Mac OS X and also plays photos and music libraries.
The last few versions have it but I don't have anything to test it out with. You have to go into the settings (hit the right blue arrow next to a video) and change the video player. No clue if it supports background AirPlaying though, I know the standard (non AirPlay) player does for music.
