You're using Instapaper wrong. Instapaper is for when you see a massive article in Pulse and you don't have time to read it now.
 
I know I'm just saying, when I'm on my iPad normally I "have time", diminishing the use of Instapaper.

It's nice when people recommend articles that aren't a part of my normal RSS feeds and stuff like that though.

Archiving is neat too.

Apple Store is in meltdown, predictably. Really wish they'd sort it out for launches, it happens every time.

I have an order number but no confirmation email and nothing in the account, so who knows...
 
Called Apple Store in Indianapolis today. The dude acted like he was trained by his supervisor to be a fucking idiot.

Me: Do you have Ipad 2's?

Apple rep: were out we had some this morning.

Me: Are you getting them daily? how many are you generally receiving?

Apple Fucker: I couldn't give you a definite answer on that.

Me: sooo.. this morning did you get 1, 10, 100? how early should I be there if I want one.

Apple piece of shit: hmmm I'm not really sure. we open at 8 tomorrow.

Me: I already have one. I just need an extra one for my wife.

Apple bitch: ahhhh cool, well maybe try tomorrow.


I guess I got a good laugh... I guess.
 
I think i placed my order in the Apple Store took me 1 hour. Now back to bed but before i have to slap myself for getting up in the middle of the night to order an electronic gadget.

Are there any hard cases to protect the back while still being able to use the smart cover? I have until April 25th to find a case lol.

Love the Griffen Loop. Got two for my home. Fits better on the iPad 2 then the iPad.

Gets you Portrait, and landscape standing position as well angled position, fits well with smart cover on the back of it too.

Hmmm I wonder if Pages is a good alternative for creating/editing Word documents. In certain instances, I would rather carry around my iPad + bluetooth keyboard than my laptop (which I mainly use as my Office device).

As someone who types fast, I think the virtual keyboard is fine even. Haven't felt the need for a physical keyboard now that I'm used to it. I used DocsToGo because I already had it and it's universal between ipad and iphone, but Pages might be better.

Could be, depends if there are some random features you need that Pages might not have. Worst case I've found it good enough to at least be something to start a document on and fix up later on a computer if necessary.

I use it a lot with the Apple wireless kb and I love it, but I'm by no means a power user. Maybe Gary can chime in?
 
I use pages for school, works fantastically. I keep Documents to go on hand for excel and powerpoint files. Have yet to resort to word files in it, pages has been more than sufficient. Fantastic if you have an airprint capable printer handy as well.

I don't use any keyboard, do it all on screen.
 
Thanks. I downloaded Pages and it seems fine, but it absolutely destroyed a document I imported that contained tables and was also missing many different fonts. Some of those fonts it replaced, and others it simply omitted the words. I'll be sticking with my laptop for serious editing! Haha.
 
Interesting tidbit about me being the "retail shopper". I'm a big box retail manager. If one of my hourly associates gave these answers I would be extremely disappointed.

Meh, I've worked enough retail in my life to know that giving people stock numbers over the phone is 50/50. I worked for CompUSA a long time ago, and they frowned on it IIRC. Not all retail stores like that information given out. Some of them even make doing so against store policy.

I believe Apple is one of those companies.

No, you don't say anything at all. If the company policy is 'don't give stock numbers to people over the phone' that doesn't mean 'give the wrong stock numbers to people over the phone'.

In that conversation the other person didn't act like an idiot. If that's their policy, you were handled about as delicately as they could, I'd imagine.
 
Heading through to Glasgow at around 12:30. That means by the time I get through and find the store, a 3 hour wait. I'll be pretty disappointed if I still can't get one after that wait. Going for the black 32GB 3G, hopefully there's less demand on the 3G versions.

Let's just hope it's a nice sunny day! (or maybe I want rain to drive everyone else away =P)
 
On the off chance. Does anyone know if it's likely that online stores such as amazon, currys, hmv etc will actually have any iPad 2 in stock to order or shall i just order from apple direct an wait the 2-3week wait time?

Just order online and wait it out from Apple, or try your luck at the store or BB.

I'm just glad I got in line on launch day, I got to the store only 2-3 hours before it opened and got the exact model and case I wanted. Seems like it was easier to get it launch day if you lined up than it has been recently. People are still lining up at some places (mostly apple stores) and they have to get in line much earlier than I did.
 
So I always make my own wallpapers for my iDevices. I like going with simple color schemes designs ect so not to distract, and so my lock/home match. Just made a new one tonight and wanted to share, I love it (made like 10-15 versions of patterns colors textures distortions ect before I picked these). Now my new iPad feels fresher than before, as I was still rocking my old iPad wallpaper.

Felt like sharing so if anyone wants here it is.
