Is there a decent way to upload images to a TinyPic like service from iPad?
LCfiner said:as of iOS 4.3 you can use the home sharing feature in itunes and stream the entire music and video library to the ipad or iphone.
besada said:How does one do this? I have home sharing turned on, but can't seem to figure out how to get my iPad to connect.
LCfiner said:settings > ipod > enter itunes account info to enable home sharing.
then in the ipod app, tap on the new house icon above your library to select from all the shared libraries in the house. (ditto for videos)
itunes is 10.2 and above
besada said:Thanks. It wasn't obvious to me at first that the Library bar was a control. Coming from a PC world, I'm still sometimes confused by the subtlety of the iOS interface.
LCfiner said:Most of iOS is obvious.
this feature is subtle. I would say that it's too subtle. that library selector thing should be more obvious (as well as the location to enter your itunes credentials).
anyway, it's a cool feature. since I rarely take my ipad out of the house, it made the 16 GB model a much easier sale for me.

So... A 6" iPad which officially supports stylus input and dual boots iOS and Mac OS X Lion will be released this September?neojubei said:Here is an interesting article about past tech articles about Apple
Saying Apple Will Never Do Something: Always Dangerous
I think the exception to the rule is the safe assumption that Apple would never release things that no one in their right mind would buy.Charred Greyface said:So... A 6" iPad which officially supports stylus input and dual boots iOS and Mac OS X Lion will be released this September?
Pages works really well. It's the official Apple one. I did up my resume on it. I recommend sticking to the templates they provide.Ken said:Just picked up an iPad 2. If anyone is in the Irvine area, the UCI bookstore seems to have a couple Verizon 3G models that don't seem to be selling.
Have a question on Apps:
Is there an App that allows me to write papers on my iPad, send it to my Windows computer, and open it on Microsoft Word without too much trouble?
Also, aside from http://ipadappsthatdontsuck.com posted in the OP, are there any other good websites that review iPad app? Or even App suggestions from here would be much appreciated.

I tend to follow Apple blogs like tuaw.com and 9to5mac.com for app recommendations. Tested.com also does a really nice "apps of the week."Ken said:Also, aside from http://ipadappsthatdontsuck.com posted in the OP, are there any other good websites that review iPad app? Devin Olsen said:So here is my Dilemma...
I bought a 16GB WiFi iPad 2, and I noticed some pretty major light leaking (posted about it earlier). I don't really care enough about it to return the iPad, but I am thinking perhaps because of the light leak I could go into Apple and ask to have my 16GB traded up to a 32GB (I'd pay the difference).
Do you think they would allow that? I really thought 16GB would be enough for me, but I am learning quickly that apps, games, magazines, movies, etc take up a LOT of space.

Use the other two if you just want to get the text out, then format it on a PC.
You should've just gone to Apple if you could. They'd replace it for you.Crazypanda_85 said:I recently had this issue with my 16GB I bought from Best Buy. I was happy with it but I noticed a lot of lag with the touch screen when I ran games, apps, etc,. and the backlight had a leak issue. I took it back a few days ago, and after a long wait in line, I explained to the associate that I don't want my refund but just wanted to get a new one. I also explained to her that I know that the wait was going to be a week or so and I didn't care; I just didn't feel comfortable paying $500 for a iPad 2 that I want to keep for atleast two years and it already has problems within the first week of use.
She gave me a light shifty-eye look and escorted me to the Geek Squad (aka one of the biggest electronic aid scammers in modern day history) and he noticed that the screen wasn't acting right and for the first time, new problems started to happen (video started freezing, apps not opening, etc,.). Then he escorted me BACk to Customer Service and she did the refund and placed me on the reserve list for a new one. I told her since the wait was going to be long, could I just simply change it to the 32GB and I'll pay the difference. She said sure and did so. Now, I'm on a 1-2 week waiting period for my new iPad to come.
All in all, it always depend on your approach. I've worked Retail for over 6 years and can confidently say that the rules set in place at (mostly) any given store are not set in stone. If the people at Apple won't allow you to switch over, ask to speak to a manager. Explain how you spend your hard earned cash on a product that is not cheap and would want to have a product you are truly happy with. Explain, also, that since there is a wait, could they let you get a model with more memory and you pay the difference. In the long run, they are getting more of your money and most retailers look at that act of kindness as a lead to more business from you. If it doesn't work with that manager, you could always go above him. At the end of the day, just make sure you stand firm and confidently in your convictions and all should work out.
Um, I not quite getting your story. Were you expecting not to get a refund? Did you get any 'special' treatment; perhaps no restocking fee (even though there shouldn't be one for a defective product)?Crazypanda_85 said:I recently had this issue with my 16GB I bought from Best Buy. No, the gestures remain enabled.Jo Shishido's Cheeks said:Apologies if I'm re-asking a question, but...
My iPad is on firmware 4.3 and has gestures enabled. If update to the latest 4.3.2, will I lose the gestures? It's the only reason I haven't updated so far.....

You need XCode.SmokyDave said:Are gestures enabled through 'settings' or do I need some nefarious trickery?
http://www.xcode-tutorials.com/enable-gestures-on-ipad-with-xcode/they can be re-enabled by turning your iPad into a developer iPad by using Apples Xcode developer tools. Some people say that you had to pay $5 to get Xcode 4 from the Mac App Store, but our very own Samuel Gibbs found that the free-to-download Xcode 3 works just fine.
To unlock iOS 4.3′s gesture controls on your iPad, download and install Xcode 3/4, open Xcode, connect your iPad to your PC, then Window > Organizer and press the Use for development button.
