What's there to reset tho? VPN is off, wifi is off, 3G Carrier is sets on automatic and I never had to manually change anything. What do you think? :/
Settings app -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings

Not exactly sure what it does but it does more than just clearing the manual settings and can help mysterious random issues like what you're having. If that doesn't work then try doing a restore to the base software.

I bought the white ipad 64 gb 3G and I just came here to say that this thing is fucking INCREDIBLE

Something I dont get though. I was under the impression that the ATT and Verizon ipads were different but the guy who handed me the ipad in the store said its the same 3G ipad and I looked at the box and it doesnt say anything one way or the other so WTF??

Gonna lose all my game saves doing that, am I right? :/

Oh, didn't know that, fingers crossed!

Thanks a lot guys

Hopefully I'll be able to find an iPad 2 when I go to NYC for the 3DS launch in regular stores.

Don't wanna spend $1,5k on those bizarre stores in Times Square :/
NYC has several apple stores and best buys, and the apple stores are usually pretty well stocked.

Just got back home after waiting in line for like five hours. They said my part of the line was in the "danger zone" and sure enough nearly everything ran out. First to go were 16GB white's, then all whites, then 16/32 AT&T 3G's, then all WiFi models except the 64GB.

Kind of a lose-lose situation for me, either spend 100$ more than I planned or leave empty-handed after waiting in the cold for a few hours. So I bought it. Can't wait to play with it after I eat.

Apparently I hadn't done a backup in a while before selling my old iPad, I have 25 updates I need to download, and a few apps I need to re-download.

Note to self: Sync more often.

I find myself getting caught in this situation a fair bit. Because the iPad's battery lasts forever and because you hardly ever need to sync to actually do anything, it's so tempting to just not bother. If not for the notification badge on the app store steadily climbing until it gets to a ridiculous number like what you just mentioned, I probably never would.

Mobile Safari page flushing seems to be no more.

I have all 9 pages in Safari filled with the following: 3 GAF threads, nytimes.com, CNN.com, arstechnica.com, daring fireball.net, engadget.com, and tuaw.com.

I can flip back and forth with no reloading at all. I even left this post half written and flipped around, then came back. No reloading. I'm sure there's a limit, but this is vastly improved.

EDIT: I took out tuaw.com and replaced with the Big Picture. No problem. I can't get this thing to flush a page.

I waited in line for 4 hours and got the hdmi adapter... then got the black 16GB WiFi and black leather smartcover. I wasn't really fooling anybody, was I? I haven't opened it yet; I'm still embarrassed by my indulgence.

Scored the WHITE 32GB WIFI...

Shit this bitch is sexy... first Ipad.. Waited 2 hours in line was like number 75... going to hop on it in a few.. also got a light blue smart cover.. sortof UNC looking.. gonna get NBA game time to start watching all the nba games on it.. yes

Edit

Also the HDMI cord.. can you see your IPADon your HDTV? i asked the lady in the store and she said it was for presentations and movies, but then she said you can see your ipad on the TV but they dont tell customers how, and sort of winked, so I am going to go back and have her tell me. Does anyone know about this?

I tested an iPad at the store and it was flushing pages. They were all big sites though--CNN, ESPN, NYTimes, etc.

Do apps not get update through the app store?

Of course. I updated all those apps before, but didn't back it up. When I restored, it restored the older versions of the apps, and I needed to re-download the updates. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Not a big deal at all, it's already done.

Not crazy about the cover so far, when I fold it back to use the ipad the magnets aren't strong enough for it to stick to the back. The one side of the cover hangs.

Yours might be bad. Mine is super-snug. Pretty impressive. Oh and I did use an old ipad screen guard

Oh, okay, the backup wasn't up to date.

I had to buy my original iPad in a second-hand store (thankfully it was actually brand-new) because they had none last year. That was in July.

... Although I did not check any Best Buy stores.

Like I said, I'm sure there's a limit somewhere, but i'll never find it in my normal browsing if this test is any indication.

Stupid job. Nothing for me.

Apple Store at the mall had 400-600 people.
They told me to try tomorrow.......

Best Buy got 20 total.
Walmart got 7.
Target got 5.

They almost did that to me. You got an AT&T. The Verizon model explicitly says "Verizon" on the back of the box in fine print.

Dont care how many MB of RAM it has, all I care about is that it can keep a bunch of safari windows around simultaneously.

I've already used iMovie more than the Mac and iPhone versions.

I wonder why the iPad 2 would hold pages better than the iPhone 4 when they both have the same amount of RAM?

Also I'm not sure how they would do this but they need to do something like hp is doing with palm os that allows the two to interact with each other. Wouldn't it be nice if you could use the iPad iMovie to edit video you took on the iPhone? In all likelihood you're going to take video with the iPhone rather than the iPad.

Just curious, what don't you like about the Smart Cover?
My main problem with the Smart Cover is that it doesn't stick to the back when you fold it behind the iPad. For the 2-3 hours I have been using my iPad, the cover's been off.

Wish I could see a white one in person. Only way I'll change my mind from getting a black one, I assume.

PS - white ones selling out first = racist :p

The iPad 2 is great. But I don't like the new design, the back is too round and iPod touch like. I'm more a fan of hard edges and straight lines, like the original iPad and iPhone 4.
I disagree. The first iPad had a hard edge and then a big obnoxious bubble in the back. This one has a nice flow to the back of it. It feels so much better than the first one.

After work (5pm)my friend and I decided to take our chances at the NYC Soho Apple store. So when we got there the line was already long. Wrapped around several blocks. However we got on the line anyhow because if u got a ticket u were guaranteed an iPad 2. Color and size may be out but u can leave with one. White 16 and 32 sold out by 730p , Black16gb by 9.
Line was orderly.
Bought two 32 black with one leather case 1379$

Fuck DS we need an apple prints money gif.

They sold thousands.

You can already do this. Just plug the iPhone into the iPad with the USB dongle and the videos transfer right over.

Whew. Went into Best Buy at around 7:00 and there was a line of about 6 people waiting for the iPad, and they all were holding some sort of flyer with a picture of the iPad and something highlighted in yellow. I thought I was screwed because I didn't have a flyer, but I was the last person in line, and they sold me one without a problem. They were sold out of everything but the 16 gig in black, and they claimed there were only three of those left. So that was a close call.

I was thinking something more wireless but I didn't realize you could even do that. Too bad you have to drop a chunk of money to get the adapter rather than a port being built in but at least you can do it. Good to know.

Can someone with a 3G Verizon model confirm/deny the $35 set up fee? I'm not buying one until I know for sure. If there is, I'll go with the AT&T one.

isn't light leakage a common complaint for early adoption of pretty much any product with an LCD?

I'm not sure what you mean. LCD panels are nothing new. If this is "light leakage" and not that yellowing thing (wtf?) then there's no excuse.

Fold it in half and it magnetized to itself. The smart cover is great so far.
