Seriuously, there are rumors of a month delay for the internafional release, I'll be happy if they even come out in Canada on the 25th.

Tobor said:Hp, Buick, AT&T, coca cola, capital one are all listed. Applebees even made a custom ad, like "don't watch the game on your phone, come into Applebees". That kind of thing.
The app is awesome. Every game, regardless of network, is available. I'm impressed.

"Feel free to tab." Look for it on the iOS keyboard. Owned.Tobor said:I'm watching VCU destroy Purdue on the NCAA iPad app, and they keep showing Samsung Galaxy tab ads with the tagline "Feel free".
Feel free to do what, not watch the game I'm watching? It's an iOS exclusive. Lol.
Dilbert said:So what's the verdict on the most likely way to get one in a brick-and-mortar store? I'm assuming Apple Store >>> anywhere else. But are there better day(s) of the week to try? Are stores still opening early? If not, how early would one have to line up?

- Dead Space
- Real Racing 2
- Infinity Blade
- Asphalt 6
- Back to the Future
Are there any others?

I hate to be such a drama queen about it but it's really depressing to try and get one in NYC. I can't fathom getting there at 3:30 AM and then NOT getting one.

kathode said:I waited in line Saturday morning at the Seattle Apple store. I was in line by 6:15AM and the line was already to the end of the block. Right around 7AM, employees came out and cut the line at least 10 people ahead of me, saying they didn't have enough. Waste of time. Went home, admitted defeat, and ordered one online, with a shipping date at the end of next month...Time to hurry up and wait.
Goddamn it Apple, stop this shit. Would solve SO many problems.Tedesco! said:Kansas City. I picked mine up on Saturday. They were allowing two units per person.
Interesting because at my store on the day after launch they only allowed 1 per person since they only had 50 units.i_am_not_jon_ames said:Goddamn it Apple, stop this shit. Would solve SO many problems.

Like aOldJadedGamer said:Yeah, should be a one person per unit thing. Btw, anyone know how to make it so Safari doesn't remember my browsing history? I can't seem to turn it off.
Jasoco said:I wish Safari had an "open in background" option. I hate having to keep switching back to the main page when I'm opening a series of links in new pages. and no, I won't use another browser until Apple let's us set a default browser to completely replace Safari. Besides, unless there was a Chrome on the iPad that looked and felt like the full thing, I'd rather use Safari because it's integrated into the iPad experience. (Android let's you set other browsers and other launchers and other things by using the same "default application" idea normal computers use. Wish iOS 5 would add this in too.)
LCfiner said:OK, gotta ask... why do you need a third party browser to replace the system browser as the default? (I'm not saying this is a BAD idea, only that it seems pretty unlikely for Apple to consider)
because, keep in mind, the majority of links clicked on in twitter or RSS apps open up within the webview of the app. yes, you could open them up in safari but that's slower than just using the webview option.
i mean, you probably have a better chance of seeing browser tabs in Safari iOS 5 than any ability to change the default browser - and that might be all you need. But I don't think you should disregard power browsers like iCab (which has the exact feature you're asking for) simply because they're not set to open up links from other 3rd party apps - links that are better opened within the app anyway.
Apple is paying close attention to all iPad 2 returns during the first few weeks to make sure there are no major production defects. This policy has led to an amusing story that we thought was entertaining enough to share.
The story comes by way of an individual close to Apple:
[Apple's] focus this week has been to troubleshoot all the iPad 2s that customers are returning to the stores. One iPad came back with a post it note on it that said "Wife said no." It was escalated as something funny, and two of the VPs got wind of it. They sent the guy an iPad 2 with a note on it that said "Apple said yes."
We're guessing a free iPad satisfied any objection the customer's wife might have had.
Marty Chinn said:Well off the top of my head, links in E-Mail, Maps, SMS and a few other apps open directly in Safari. Personally, I just hate the notion that I'm working between two browsers rather than it all being consolidated.
Jasoco said:I refuse to pay for a browser just to get tabs. This isn't the 90's. Paying for browsers sucks. So no. No third party browsers for me. And all the free ones are shit.
Anyway, Safari is awesome IMHO, it just needs tabs. That's, really all. And that's not even a deal breaker. I don't even want anything else. Just tabs so the Android people can shut the he'll up about it. But I'd settle for "open in background".

I actually find tabs on touch browsers annoying. To OIB would be enough for me.
LCfiner said:ah, you're right. I forgot about email and Maps - I get so few links via those apps so it slipped my mind.
still for browsing sessions where the user is launching the browser manually, it doesn't make sense to stick with safari if someone really, really wants some of the features in the other browser apps.
dallow_bg said:I like Terra too.
Free, tabs work well, and you can even "lock" it with a passcode.
Charred Greyface said:fwiw, there is a tweak for jailbroken iPads (1) to switch the default browser to a select number of third party alternatives from the App Store. When the iPad 2 is jailbroken you might want to check that out (yes, it's not the best solution but well worth considering if you prefer another browser to Safari)

Ipad 2 it is.
I haven't been following the release to closely am I going to have to brave the wild for months on end to find one? or wait 6 weeks online?
krypt0nian said:Best Buy is taking $100 deposits to get it in a few days or there's the Apple Store for online loving. Other than that it seems it depends on your area.
