Apple is clearly sending stock to stores to generate queues for PR sake, while people who order online are treated as second tier customers.
I ordered mine at exactly the time the pre-order went up in the UK and not available until mid-October.
All stock must have been pushed out to stores, I know why they do it but it pisses me off that they shit on me just because I won't stand out in the fucking cold to generate free hype for their product. I work hard for my money to buy their product and enjoy my sleep so why fuck me over Apple?
Why did she settle for a phone she didn't want? Especially when they cost so much, and you'd be able to get what you want if you wait a bit?

I was just coming in here to say they aren't showing as free on mine. They used to before I restored the phone.

I've heard you may need to force quit the App Store or reboot your phone for it to show.
In 5+ years, with faster and faster data speeds and more and more data hungry apps, do you really want to have lost that unlimited plan?
I'm sure that when the average user is gobbling up 3+ gigs a month, the plans will change. And I don't know if there's any guarantee that Verizon can't just drop me in a few years, but I still see my unlimited data as a resource which will only gain value as time goes on.

Visited the Apple Store in Regent Street and it was PACKED. I was told that to have any chance of getting a phone I will have to line up each day before opening, yeah no thanks.
Anyway along with the hundreds of people there I molested the demo 5S units they had and I have to say the Gold is the best looking colour. It's really understated and quite a lot nicer than the silver. Space gray is also quite nice and is probably what i'm going to take considering the Gold stock.

Do you have WiFi at home and work? I gave up my unlimited end of last year but since I have access to WiFi most places I use my phone, most months I don't even use a gb of data. I would classify myself as a medium to at times heavy user.
I just switched that all off because I noticed my battery was going noticeably quicker than my old 4. Hopefully it helps.

I gave mine up to get the 5S. I didn't want to, but it's obvious Verizon is doing whatever they can to get people off of unlimited data and I'm tired of jumping through hoops to keep it. I opted for 4GB a month, which is what several friends recommended as the sweet spot. I don't really stream movies or tether other devices, so I don't think it'll matter much.
On that note, Verizon just charged my credit card for the phone and my order status has changed saying the phone will ship by Monday. Anyone who ordered from Verizon at midnight, check your status! I'm hoping I get it by Wednesday.
I have 3GB and it is not an issue for me.
I'm hoping my status updates again soon soon. I'm afraid my credit card company screwed it up. I got a call this morning from the fraud protection department asking it I made the charge and I informed them that I did and to let the charge go through.

Woot my case and screen protector are out for delivery today. Weren't supposed to be here until Monday, so that will give me a little piece of mind. One thing I've noticed about this device after owning a Droid phone for the past two years is how comfortable and not awkward it is to hold it in your hand.
try rebooting the phone first.
if you still get really fast drainage afterward, go to settings>general>background app refresh and turn off some or all apps in there. thats something that the 4 did not have and it has the chance of eating up battery real fast if theres a ton of apps in there updating in the background

I walked up to my preferred Verizon store yesterday about 10AM, and got ticket number 63, which enabled me to get the 64 gig black/grey phone I wanted. I was rolling my eyes as the Verizon employee walked a group of us around the store to give us the spiel about all their cool shit like speakers and Xfinity or whatever the hell it is. Got my phone, and the shaming looks when I didn't want to shell out for their cases and screen protectors, which irritates the shit out of me.
Phone is great so far; only problem is that Gmail won't connect through the Mail app; I keep getting server connection failure messages, though I've done the authentication and it's been accepted. Yet the Gmail app runs fine.

Are you using Gmail through Exchange?
My iPhone 4 exchange account didn't work so I've set up a "normal" gmail account and it works just fine.
That's weird, I was never able to get Gmail to work through the mail app on my iPad, but it works like a charm on this.
Is it downloading a bunch of stuff for a restore (apps, iCloud music, photos, etc?) that drains the battery. Also it takes a few cycles for the battery meter to be accurate.
Use the gmail app, it's bettter than the Apple mail app.
Is it working properly on iOS 7/iPhone 5? The reviews are pretty bad.
Did you do it as exchange or through the 'Google' option?

Works fine for me as of yesterday. Also has the amazing feature of automatically opening links in Google apps. Great for when you want to open up Google Maps with an address from an email.
First time I went to the app store I hit download all on the screen that shows the free apps. Then I went to download some other apps. The free ones didn't download. But manually searching the store showed them all as free for me so I just redownloaded that way. (They weren't in my purchase history either)
I think there's a bug with Touch ID and App Store purchases. I've had to enter in my password to 'renew' touch id passwords a few times when buying an app. Not a big deal every once and a while but it's been happening way too often. Defeats the purpose. Hopefully that gets squashed soon. Unless there's a setting I missed....

Serious question: are you a male? I think the color combination looks great and the emphasis on white in iOS7 makes me want to switch to a white 5S, but I can't help feeling that it's feminine and I probably wouldn't be able to rock it.

Is anyone else having problems with the fingerprint scanner? It is completely inconsistent for me. Sometimes I can't get it work at all, sometimes it takes 2-3 tries, and very rarely it works completely seamlessly as it was presented in the apple keynote. I even tried to record the same finger multiple times to try to improve accuracy but that doesn't seem to have helped.
I've turned it off after a few unlocks, was too annoying.
Wouldn't turning reduce motion ON help battery life more?

Works perfectly here. I'll be using it like this until this phone dies. It's just so much faster and convenient than pressing the home button and swiping the screen or entering the passcode.
Get it checked out at the Apple store maybe?
