How many of those people are buying it for themselves? Compared to those being hired to buy it for rich people who don't live in the country and live in a place where the 6 & 6 Plus hasn't yet launched.

I woke up at 8am last week, ordered the phone at 8.30am. I got a confirmation a few hours later and the money went out of my account on Tuesday. I got a tracking confirmation yesterday and it was delivered this morning at 9.15am. The end.


No queues, no camping, no scalpers, no drama. But I guess I want people to continue doing it because otherwise it would be harder for me to just buy it like I did this time

Did anyone get theirs delivered through UPS early in the morning?

My delivery truck went out at 4AM. I've never seen them go out that early.

This! It's more about the experience. Everyone there knows it's geeky as hell, so they have fun with it. For the i3GS (or maybe i4), we waited all night with a bunch of college guys who rigged up a TV and Xbox to their car and we played Halo and other games all night. The store manager also gave us the WiFi password for the really good connection at the store before he went home for the night so we could play online. An older lady (mid 60's) stayed all night too to get a phone for her granddaughter and she played Halo online. It was lollllll. She also bought the ten or so of us breakfast, so we gave her the first spot in line to make sure she could get what she wanted.

Do you think it might be possible to trade my carrier bought Iphone stil wrapped at the Apple Store for the color I want?

They only had the space grey and if I'm stuck with that that's fine but I'd like to have the color I originally set out to get.

I just got back from looking at the demo version in store and wow I'm impressed.

I ran the uncharted 1080p 60fps video on the plus and tbh it stuggled but that could have been down to the connection rather than phone, I dont know. But wow at that display, really really makes I should read less and less into specs because I think its just as nice as any display on any phone. Build quality is amazing as per, definitely feel different, I will be getting one.

Currently in line at my local Apple Store at 7:00am pacific time and line is around the block. I am estimating around around 400+ people total...

Currently there is one line but it will split into two, one for preorder pickups and another for walk ins so I remain optimistic! One hour left...

been calling up retail stores this morning, seems none have got any in stock, and are getting next week or not at all.

The worst is best buy "We can't tell you iphone 6 stock over the phone, you have to visit in person!"

Chicago - 5s Sprint user here, walked into Tmobile 2 days ago and told them I want to switch, they said they'd have plenty of 64 Gig 6's in stock, did all the paperwork. Walked in this morning (saw a line across the street at Verizon, no line at Tmob) and they said "truck is late! should be in by 11am".

damn!

I'm more excited to be off Sprint than the new phone.

Probably because the stock is dwindling by the minute. Don't want to promise customers that they have some in stock, so when they come in its OOS and they get all pissed off. I understand their reasoning for not giving stock numbers over the phone.

yeah, it's metal. I have a case on my phone so I haven't considered whether it would scratch without one

Just the Apple Store, I think.

I bought my unlocked 5S the day after its launch (Saturday), and the lines were much more manageable. Then just walked over to an affordable carrier with it and signed up.

The back rest has a plastic cap at the top and the phone it mostly leaning and rubbing against this when docking it. (from my experience with the iPhone 5s)

I can see it leaving some scuffs after a year or two, but you can be careful about it and still use it with a naked iPhone.

I'm not sure if I want to brave the lines, I might pop into my local apple store a bit later and see what the situation is like. I want a 6, so hopefully they received enough stock to have some left over.

Thanks for answering, it's annoying that i can't get an unlocked iPhone anywhere else.

It's probably the Wi-Fi during this busy time. I have the gamersyde footage downloaded onto my 5S and it runs without a hitch.

Mine went out that early too but I don't think it changes the arrival time that much, at least for me. He usually stops by between 5~6p regardless of when it said out for delivery.

God dammit, I went from thinking I wouldn't have my phone anywhere close to day one, to being told it would ship today, to saying it's out for delivery. But I could print a pre auth form and am working a 15 hour day. Fuck.
