Apple iPhone 6 [OT]

Great timing, got home from work right as the UPS guy pulled up. The 6 Plus feels a lot better than I thought it would and the bigger screen/keyboard is GREAT since I have huge hands and always fat fingered typing on previous iPhones.

That's why I canceled my AT&T order and went with Apple. That and release-day delivery. They removed my fucking unlimited data when I ordered online.

AT&T ever tried that with me I'd be beyond pissed. All the more reason to go directly with Apple - they just want to sell you the phone, no questions asked.

Any opinion on which color the antenna bands look best on in person? I'm using that factor to determine which color to get. Planning on a standard 6 and using it without a case.

They're not as crap as some have made them out to be, but they're still not great. I have the Space Grey so they don't stand out too much. If you're really concerned about it, get Space Grey because it blends in better than with a Silver or Gold.

To be honest though, you'll be over it within a day or two either way.

Went inside the upper west side apple store in NY just to get a feel for both models, I really like both. But i think I'm going to go with the 6+ 64gb when my contract is up in two weeks.

It was PACKED in there so i could imagine they have plenty of stock left if anyone is still looking for a phone.

Touch ID seems MUCH more reliable than my 5S. I got the 5S at launch (since have passed it on to my wife) and it would fail very frequently. I don't know if it's different hardware or just software updates that have fixed it, but I've easily unlocked my new 6 well over 30 times today and it hasn't failed a single time.

My brother has a 5S and he told me after upgrading to iOS 8 Touch ID is now at almost 100% success rate where before it was very finicky. Apple did some software miracles

Anyone see a dock of any kind in Apple stores? I'd really like to have a dock, and I may order one, but wanted to check to see if Apple was stocking one first.

Wow. I don't even know what to think.

Waited all day for UPS to deliver my 64GB space gray +. It arrived a few minutes ago, almost at 7pm.
I tear open the box, pick up the phone's packaging, turn it around and it's the wrong phone.

I have a 16GB space gray +, with a receipt that says 64GB, and an Apple support website that shows my actual phone with a different serial number than the one I have here in front of me.

I've no idea how this will get solved, but it's certainly ruined my evening. On hold for 30 minutes now. :(

Oh, I was furious. I called and they said "when you activate it, just call us and say you want to keep the plan." Uh, no? I just want to turn on my phone and be done with it, and, you know, just maybe keep the plan that I've had for six years.

What exactly don't you like about it?

Also wouldn't you get near a full refund for it? Seems strange to see if someone wants it here.
Can't really explain it. The device just doesn't feel right after having a phablet.

Yep I will get a full refund but since it might be unavailable someone might benefit from me not returning it.

Damn, that sucks but glad you got it back. LTE on an iphone is so awesome.

Have to say, I didn't think I'd eat up so much data once I moved onto the 5s with LTE... Boy was I wrong. I easily eat up at least 7GBs a month - sometimes before the halfway point of my billing period.

I'm sure AT&T hates me but no way in hell am I going to give my unlimited data.

Sorry to hear that, I'm sure apple will send you the right size quick

I got the white one and I think I might return it. It picks up a decent amount of pocket lint. I bet this wouldn't be as much of an issue with a darker color.

It's a nice, minimalist case, though. So, I like the form factor.

I can definitely see the white one picking up dirt. The black one is more like a medium-dark gray and it looks great on the silver phone. Form factor is fab.

How is it when taking in and out of your pants-pockets? Does it slip right out or does it kind of stick to the fabric? And what about it picking up lint?

I really want a silicone case for mine, and Apples look fantastic, but I'm worried about the grippiness of it (as in too rubbery)

This is the one issue. I do wear slim fit pants but I have to put in a teeny bit more effort pulling it in and out of my pockets because its textured.

Its a double edge sword because I go to the gym with the phone very often and I cant have a smooth case since I dont want my phone to slip and fall off my hands.

But the bright side is that it doesnt add much bulk at all so it doesnt form a huge brick in your pants. The phone doesnt stick out as much as my 5 did, which I really love.

Its not really rubbery, but its got a certain light texture. It just feels right.

Apple stores had all the cases out and allowed people to try them on their phones so if you have one nearby try it out. Feels good man.

I hope Facebook, Messenger, whatsapp and tweetbot get updated to not look like shit on the 6+ asap. Only apps I really use.

Dammit, my boss got both sizes and offered to sell me his plus at cost... buttttt... It's silver and 128gb, I want Space at 64gb. I think I would hate myself if I got a white phone.

As someone who never used a case on the 4s or the 5 - I will be looking for a case tomorrow morning. It's so thin and with the rounded edges I could totally see my clumsy ass dropping this thing.
It's not a knock against the 6, but rather remarkable how thin and comfortable it is.
The lines on the back is such a non-issue.
I would like to get the Apple case, but $35 for a piece of silicone is crazy. But it sure is convenient to just go pick it up and knowing it will fit perfectly.
Anyone have the apple silicone case for the 6?
Does it add a lot of bulk? I want something thin.
Also do you use a screen protector? If so, what's the best to get?

6 feels good! I think iPhone has now moved up to a 50/50 usage split with Android for me.

SwiftKey is definitely a big reason for that.

Yup. Never going under 5.5 again unless I have no choice. This felt beautiful in my hand(s).

I'm having problems adjusting to the size of the 6. I use the phone in my right hand and too many important functions on websites and apps are in the top left corner. I'm guessing this transition is easier for those that use their phone with their left hand. I more often am comfortable with two hands, but I can't be doing that while walking.

On the flip side, typing with the traditional keyboard is now much easier in portrait mode with two hands.

Anybody have recommendations for good games to play? Installed Baldur's Gate, but text is awfully tiny. Almost impossible to ready. Xcom looks good though. Looking for some other good suggestions for gaming on the go. :)

Oh my Apple store clerk told me some information. He said they sold over 2,000 phones in his store alone. That sounded preposterous but I guess its possible. He said they only had 45 Plus models for non-preorders and they went within the first 30 minutes. Also all the cases for the 6's were about gone, and it didn't even look like there was a dent in the 6+ cases lol

Welcome to the giant phone club, it really is great once you use it.
I never feared it would be too big, and it was a perfect match for me. Can't wait for these next two weeks to fly by.

Liking my 6 so far. The size is definitely going to take some getting used to, it does feel big. I am loving the screen size for browsing, though.

It also seems way better in the run. Like crazy better. Still a lot of glare, though. We'll see if it can replace my Kindle for by the pool reading or not.

I am LOVING TouchID. I came form the 5 and being able to keep the requirement for the passcode all the time as well as 1Password support and such is way more secure and I worry less about my boss or friends picking up my phone now. Also have a longer passcode since 4 digits isn't very secure in the wrong hands.

I'm really looking forward to reinstalling the bigger games I never finished due to lack of space. (16gb phone just couldn't hold it all. Now I'm on 64gb)

so i held it in my hands today and i must say it feels great. im on the verge of moving from android back to iphone but i must know if there is an app on istore which allows me to password protect individual apps. i have been researching but cant find any.

this is a must have feature for me

I think I'm going to be caseless at home. The phone is just way too gorgeous. Thinking about going caseless in general, except at the gym.

Anyone done the PornHub test on the 6+?
