Apple iPhone 6 [OT]

I've had it a bit over a week and I have found myself really adjusting to the size and its usability. It's definitely took some getting used to but I am really loving the screen .
Someday I'll get mine and know that feeling.

Apple Store website has an estimated delivery date of sometime between October 21-28. The wait is brutal.

Shouldn't the m8 be smart enough to track cycling?
Right now mine tracks a lot of steps instead... That seems like a bug.

I just realized that the NPR app updated to support the 6+ higher screen resolution, the first app of mine I noticed updated. I find that it went first a little funny, when its mostly stability in the latest updates for other more well known apps.

Ok, my question has to do with the 5S but it involves the 6.

I'm pretty sure I have some form of malware or spyware on my 5S that I got from someone I know. Long story but found out he's a scumbag. I've been reading online that nonjailbroken iPhones are very hard to get into and tried numerous methods to find the spyware or malware. However even with those methods some online were mentioning that it could be very hard to find.

Any options or apps I can check out? I want to take it to Sprint but can't due to a foot injury.

That would be difficult but I guess if he had access to your phone who knows.

You could always save your pics and videos, then do a clean restore/set up as new. You'd have to set your apps back up, and you might lose any game saves, but your contacts should be saved through iCloud.

Is it possible he just has your passwords? why do you think it is malware and not just him knowing your apple id/facebook/email/or w/e password

He could just have your password to facebook icloud etc

Currently phone less at the moment and don't care for contracts, so I was debating on whether or not to get Iphone 6. Then found a good deal on Craigslist for an unlocked 5C so I can't complain. Probably stick with that until the Iphone 7 to be honest.

Did Apple screw up with the 16GB versions? That's the only model for the 6 and 6+ that can be easily found around here (Singapore) because nobody wants that shit and the 64GB models are so goddamn elusive.

Pretty sure that was exactly the point. Seems to be working just as Apple intended.

I get what they were going for. But it feels excessive given the supply crunch at 64GB. If they had ample supply of the higher capacity models then I'd have no issue with it.

Anyone using a wallet case with their 6+? I'm about to get one and I'm hoping someone here has some good suggestions/experiences to share. Just realized you can put a fourth card in the money slot, which means I can actually replace my wallet with it.

Argh, bloody UPS. First delivery attempt of my iPhone 6 was yesterday. Got the InfoNotice when I got home from work and attempted to change the redelivery to Friday as I'll be home, but the package was still "in transit" so I couldn't do anything. Now I check it again this morning and they're attempting a second delivery today...while I'm still at work. What the hell? How do they expect people to be home to receive the delivery when they give them no opportunity to reschedule?

Their office isn't open til 8am, but hopefully I can call them up and get them to intercept/reschedule. What a pain in the arse. I should have just ordered the phone to collect in store.

Wonder how fast the international Apple Pay rollout will be. Those phone are in a lot of countries where that NFC is useless right now.

I'm rocking a clear case... but I am pretty down with that idea of having a phone/wallet hybrid.

It's a pretty smart idea to attach your important cards to your most important piece of technology. I'd never accidentally leave behind my phone.

Everyone uses PayPass style payment systems in Australia so I'm hoping we are part of the rollout. I was astonished when I was in the US at how backwards the payment system was even in big stores and chains.

I got my iphone 6 plus 64 gb yesterday.

Dropped it this morning, hairline fracture across the screen.

So fucking pissed but I can live with it

I'm not intimately familiar with payment for stuff in the US but watching the Apple Pay video where she's paying with a credit card, do you really need to show ID? That was a huge wtf moment for me.

Oh yeah, I should probably report here. I got the gray 6+ yesterday! Thanks to everyone who told me what color to buy as I hate making decisions lol.

most of the time not, depends on the retailer and their propensity for fraud.

Has anybody had any experience with Verizon and trading their phone in for a preorder? I want to get the plus but the wait is like 3 weeks and I want to trade in my 5.

My experience is that it depends on the state. They seem to ask for it a lot more in California than the East Coast.

Yeah, but that is because identity theft is so commonplace here, unfortunately. I have "see ID" written in the back of my cards in lieu of a signature.

Mum just got her iPhone 6+. I'd rather keep my M8, this really has no wow factor besides being huge. The battery life looks to be the most attractive feature to me.

I have a 16GB iPhone 6.

I would say that 64GB is probably the best size for folks who store a ton of photos, apps and music on their phone.

I'm not one of those people. I stream EVERYTHING.

Where I live people are starting using credit cards more and more often this last few years, NFC will take a long time to implement here. We dont even have internet v2 or Passbook enabled things or... I long for this though, ApplePay seems like the future to me. Pay with the phone... awesome.

Here's my main concern about ApplePay...

You essentially use a new card number with every transaction, right?

What about returns? The original "card" doesn't exist to put the credit back on. Does this mean I would have to settle with store credit?

I have a Citi credit card which allows me to generate virtual credit card numbers for buying online. That way I never have to give my real number out. I can set a limit and a expiration date as well. Everything is tied back to the original number and it's a one time use as well. So I imagine ApplePay will work similar to this except it will be Apple generating the number, not the credit card company.

Yeah, but that is because identity theft is so commonplace here, unfortunately. I have "see ID" written in the back of my cards in lieu of a signature.
If you read your credit card's agreement statements, that actually makes your card invalid. If you look below or around where you normally sign the back of your card it says "Not valid unless signed." You'd be hard pressed to win any legal matter where you proclaim the signature of your name is "See ID."

In addition, so may retailers here in the USA have swipe-yourself terminals. The clerks rarely, if ever, actually look at the cards now. It still happens, don't get me wrong, but how often does a minimum wage employee actually ask for your card? I didn't have it happen too often when I put my signature plus "See ID" on the back of my cards, so I just stopped.

Any idea when I'll be able to waltz into a Sprint Store and buy a 64 GB Space Grey 6 Plus? They told me "a couple weeks" at launch day. It's ridiculous that it's taking so long. Will seriously consider the Nexus X if I can't nab one by the end of October (need to deal with store personnel due to plan reasons).

Battery life on my 6+. I didn't disable anything that I don't use and I just set the phone up the way I normally use it. I would have gotten to 13+ hours of usage if I didn't plug it in before I went to sleep last night. CRAZY BATTERY LIFE!!!
