Apple iPhone 6 [OT]

Also, if they do more custom UI elements, then it may be harder to update it to support the new sizes. So it takes longer to do the update and is harder to justify making it an immediate priority.

So I took my iPhone 6 Plus to a store today and they replaced the screen and button for me due to my button being faulty.
All free under the warranty and seems to be working ok now.

New 6 arrived. Coming from a 4S the LTE speeds and responsiveness when using Siri is much appreciated. With a Luvvitt case on it it's only about an inch longer and much thinner than my old phone with an Otterbox, so the change in size isn't too bad. Would probably still prefer a 4 inch but the size isn't requiring strange contortions with my sized grip.

Hi all,

Should be getting my slate grey iPhone 6 Plus on Tuesday. I've already purchased a Zagg InvisibleShield screen protector (glass) - can anyone recommend a good case? I actually like the Apple leather and silicone cases - I need something similar that covers the bottom of the phone (the Apple one have a massive cutout). Thanks.

I pray and hope you get yours on right the first time. I've been thru 3 of those and I just gave up. Since the iPhone 6 screen is curved now. The glass screen protector might end up on the edge where it curves and your left with one side of the adhesive side exposed which can get dirt under it, etc. The same with all edges. Just make sure you get it right. That's all I'm saying. It's a nice protecter. But I just went naked now screen wise until I can find a glass protecter that covers the WHOLE screen and not just part of it and I'm using Apple's case for protection.

There's a reason for te cutout. They only had holes for ports in the iPhone 5 version and it blocked access to a lot of accessories.

Hello all:

Recently returned my Note 4 to get the iPhone 6 Plus and my initial impressions is that I love the phone. I've been using Android phones since the Incredible and this is my first iPhone that I intend to keep (I had a 5 but returned it for an S3).

With that being said I had a couple questions regarding JB (coming from Android I kinda do miss being able to tweak). First, everytime I update iOS does the JB go away?

Also, what kind of cases do you guys recommend? I ordered the smoke black Ringke fusion today and I was wondering if there was anything else that was good. I heard the actual Apple leather cases were pretty solid as well.

And lastly, has anyone updated to 8.1.2? Is the battery life as bad as everyone says it is?

yes if you update your JB goes away. i believe the latest JB goes to 8.1.1
EDIT: end of the day my battery only drops to 35-40% that's browsing GAF, email, txt, chat

I've come to the conclusion I'm once again disappointed in the camera. Under low light it still blows, though, to be fair, I've used the S5 and Note 4 and they're not any better. Also, the flash is absurdly bright. My fiancee has fair skin and taking pictures of her all you see is eyeballs and lips. Not using flash too dark; using flash too bright. Fuckin a.

Also, does anyone have experience using headphones that come with Samsung phones with iPhone? With both my 5S and now 6 Plus, using headphones from the S4, S5, Note 3 or Note 4, if you go above like 65% volume, the volume will start going down to almost 0 for a split second every few seconds. It's really fucking annoying because these headphones are amazing (for free ones).

May I ask compared to what phone?

Getting a 64GB Space Grey 6 tonight! Anything I should do to prepare for switching over? I have a 4S currently. I guess I should do a backup to iCloud today, while I'm at work?

I hope it's OK to ask this here, but I didn't think it was worth starting a new thread.

Last night I tried to sync my iPhone to iTunes for a large amount of music. However, it said "Waiting for changes to be applied" for absolutely ages, and in the end, I gave up and clicked eject iPhone. After repeated attempts, I now sometimes receive that message, or I'm told that I don;t have enough room. I should have plenty of room, but the "Other" category of data on my 128GB phone is taking up 45.41GB of space. I noticed that number increases every time I try to sync, even though my attempts are failing.

I looked around online to try to find some answers, and found somebody saying they had a similar issue, and that the "Other" data is corrupted data. From what I can gather, each time I attempt to sync, it is writing more corrupted data to my phone in place of actual music.

I'm unsure how to go about fixing this. I could restore my phone, but I'm concerned about losing stuff like Notes, Reminders, save data in games, etc. But if I do a back up and then restore from that afterwards, won;t that just copy the corrupted data back over? I'm not too familiar with the restore process.

Any help would be REALLY appreciated. I'm completely clueless here, and I'm getting quite distraught. :-(

UPDATE: I tried deleting all the music from the iPhone itself, and then resyncing it with iTunes. But now it seems to be stuck at "Step 1 of 4: Waiting for sync to start". It's been like 5 minutes now.

EDIT: Never mind, simply restoring everything worked.

Just got a 6+ this week, any recommendations for lightweight, clear cases? I like the wallet cases but it appears there arent any good thin ones out. Most have a little slit to put a few cards in, while others add a ton of bulk

Incipio NGP seems to get good reviews. Don't think there is a clear though, only translucent frost.

We ust got our 6+ phones last night.

Is the loud vibrating a flaw or are they produced that way?

I'll post more soon, I'm just in a hurry here at work and wanted to go ahead and get that question out there.

I've found the vibrating to definitely be more noticeable than my 5 but I think that's just the way it is.

The 6+ is the perfect size, not too big at all. Although I've been mostly at home and haven't had a chance to take it out and about. All I need is a quality case

But man, the power button on the side is really pissing me off. I keep hitting the volume buttons at the same time, and it's overall just getting on my nerves

Perfect size? How big are your fingers?!?

My hands are actually pretty small, but it didn't take long to adjust my grip/hold it with two hands when necessary. Like I said, all my use has been in one location, maybe as I start going between school and work and home I'll hate the size. But I doubt it

I think I'll be jumping to the iPhone 6 tomorrow, replacing my current Android LG G2. I've never owned an Apple product before, so I'll be starting in the app ecosystem completely fresh. Are there any good lists of must have apps? I never got too many on Android either.

Also, any pitfalls to look out for as a new iPhone owner?

Cheers.

Is it just me or does touchid not work 33% of the time?

Play around with the calibration routine a little. At first, mine didn't work a lot, but after experimenting with the calibration, it works much better with one minor exception: After I wash and dry my hands, it will occasionally not work the first time.

Really depends on location. 6 you're probably fine. 6+ who knows.

I know this is late but I walked in and asked for a the 6+ and the salesperson said I was fortunate because that was the only model that they had in Stock. Picked up a space grey and apple leather case. Case feels so good in hand.

Keep in mind the Apple leather case also doesn't protect shit, zero protection if you drop it face down. I've tried it and it surely feels nice but I couldn't get over the zero protection part

Apple dictated that cases should protect from a 1m fall at least. I assumed their own cases fell under this.
