I think so. I believe that's the 40$ activation fee. I always ask for that to be credited back to my account it's worked every upgrade so far.

I will NEVER go on another subsidized plan with a Canadian carrier to save a few hundred dollars on any phone. I got out of my 3 year Rogers contract earlier this year and am buying an unlocked 6. I'll just stick with my current Rogers service plan (as crappy as it is it's still a much better deal than what they're offering on their new revamped 2 year plan. I'll just flex it over to another carrier when I can find a better deal. I paid a premium for my new phone but the freedom is more than worth it.

The government's legislation last year to do away with mandatory 3 year plans was a noble effort. Of course, the big 3 responded by offering worse rates over a shorter period. The Canadian cellular industry is easily among the slimiest on the planet.

The 5.5 was rumored to be coming out as late as the end of the year for a while, so no doubt the supply is ridiculously constrained. As someone already mentioned, last year the gold 5S went through the same nonsense.

Ordered as soon as I could at 3:00am on ATT site (128gb, 5.5) and I'm stuck with "Expected Ship Date: 10/31/2014 To 11/11/2014"

I guess my question is has anyone ordered from ATT in the past and run into a situation where the ship date was way off but they got it at launch?

That's the price of the phone having access to the network I believe. The discount is for teh data plan. Ex. if you have 10gb mobile share and have Next your discount will read 25 dollars since it is 15 dollars to have the phone on the plan. If you haev less data the discount is less. Which is why his show's $5

Problem with Target is that they are wishy washy with their stock, even on launch day, and the problem with them and the others is no options for T-mo and unlocked handsets, something a lot of us need. That being said, you are right; they are options that can suit quite a few that often go overlooked. It's always worth a try!

I don't think it has much to do with the A7 chip in terms of faulty hardware. The jump to 64-bit caused a lot of apps to become unstable as some of the engines or assets in the game weren't/aren't compatible with 64-bit architecture causing them to crash or do weird shit.

I do too. I traditionally get my phones from either San Jose (3rd largest city in CA) or Modesto (18th largest). They arnt exactly tiny.

These aren't off screen comparisons, so it's hard to get an objective view of the performance increase. Take it with a grain. Also, in this performance range, don't bother comparing basemark x medium scores. Drill down to the high benchmark, which is more challenging for these gpus.
