Huelen, got that Mario wallpaper?
Sorry for the wait! Actually, you weren't the only one to PM me about that and other wallpapers! :D I was too busy trying everything out to make sure it was just right on iPhone 5, 5S, 5C, and SE... and these are! Just some slightly tweaked things I've either tweaked or made over the years (I'm proud of Pyro) that I use for my lock screen and home screen.

HOME SCREENS

All home screen ones are made so there are 2-free rows of imagery. I've done this for about half a decade now as it lets me look at more of the image, keeps me organized, and I have an indirect scrolling surface that doesn't actually obstruct any content. YMMV, but that's the way it's always worked for me; they are sized perfect with dock in mind. If there's something you like, enjoy!

BTW, even with heavy use with moving Apps, mounting, music and Miitomo, I was at 13 percent battery nearly 20 hours later and just plugged in.

Obviously YMMV, but this battery is amazing for me.

So far the battery on mine is tracking about what it did on my previous 6 Plus. Absolutely bananas to me, but I'm super happy about it, I know that.

I got my 64gb in Gold yesterday. Activating from my Cloud backup was absurdly quick and painless.

I'm coming from a 5S and so far it feels...familiar but faster. A lot faster. I haven't messed around long enough today to give feedback on the battery life but even having a fresh version vs my almost 3 year old 5S will be great.

Can anyone recommend some graphically impressive games that would take advantage f the A9 processor? I've been way out of the loop on the iOS gaming front.

ehh....tried the SE today at target. The screen resolution drop bothered me so I think I will stick with my 6S+ for the time being.

They better not be those Japanese variants with the unflashable Japanese firmware...
I just got this one...what does unflashable mean, if I don't even care about jailbreaking?

It means you have no way of silencing the shutter, even with with full current iOS update wipe through iTunes. For nature trail shutterbugs like myself, the noise that cannot be disabled is a deal breaker.

Should... should I even bother doing a detailed review? It would just echo every other SE review that bills down to this being the best iPhone ever, the best 4-incher ever, the best value iPhone ever, and the most 1-handed friendly iPhone...

Basically...

If you have anything older than a 6S, wants new iPhone, and prefer smaller phones...

GET THIS PHONE

If you have a 6S and want something smaller, consider getting this phone ONLY if it won't put you at a loss, or you don't give a shit about spending more. if that's the case...

If you are in the market for your first iOS device and need a phone...

GET THIS PHONE

I always get hyped when HUELEN gets hyped about Apple products.

My mom just got hers, and I set it up for her. I could barely contain my envious tech lust :p

I wish Apple had released this last year alongside the 6S that I ended up buying out of desperation because my beloved 4S (still the best form factor!) was about a year or two beyond its last legs.

Now I'm on two-year contract with AT&T with this phone I can't stand using.

#firstworldproblems, I know.

Why not swap phones with your mom?

Just wanted to thank Mailbox for the amazing new avatar tweak. :D

In other news, iFixit results show that some of the components have waterproof seals. Still though, Don't soak your SE.

This is hands down the best iPhone ever made. It's incredibly quick and the battery lasts forever.

Yours arrived? Awesome!

I know right?!?!?! It's everything I expected, yet it STILL surprises me. Best iPhone ever made, truly worth being called Special Edition? Hands down, without a doubt.

What handset were you coming from again anyways?

Currently rocking a 16 GB 5s, which is still quite fast (specially after 9.3 update, so smooth), but I'm considering upgrading to this new SE hotness for the extra speed (2 GB of RAM really changes things, coming from iPad Air 2, and also dat A9), better camera performance (gimme dem focus pixels) and dat super sweet long ass battery life (really impressed with this from the reviews, it really shows how energy-efficient and awesome the A9 is, even more when coupled with a smaller screen and lower resolution). Will definitely go 64 GB if I upgrade, though, 16 GB is hard to deal with these days, specially with Apple Music hogging all my storage space (give us the option to limit how much caching space is reserved for AM, Apple -.-).

Yeah! Got it on Friday just in time for Miitomo. Upgraded from the 6S! I don't miss any of the stuff that's missing. The portability alone makes up for it! I'm glad you're liking yours!

I also love that $12 moga case I've been using to charge and play all of my MFi games! (Sonic 1, 2, and CD are fantastic with a MFi controller!)

So nobody here is going to trade/upgrade their SE to the iphone7 when it comes out ?
I tend to stick with my cycle. Now that I am on tock (I still can't believe it, I went from tick to tock because the phone was just THAT good), I doubt I would switch again.

I guarantee though my next iPhone will be a 4-inch one... should they make one.

Apple recognizes that 4-inch phones have fans willing to pay for modern specs in a small factor. Thankfully, I don't think they will stop making 4-inch phones now.

My wife is considering getting the SE, she currently has a 5s that is on its last legs, as long as she doesn't care about Force Touch she'll be okay right?

I just worry that the 4-incher will perpetually be behind the newest models, though. Part of me hopes that we have another iPad 4 on our hands and that we get a 4-incher this fall as part of the iPhone 7 line.

Like the iPad 3 --> iPad 4 transition, it would annoy early adopters, but unless Apple has some yield issues with their custom silicon that I'm not aware of, there's no more reason to separate the "SE" model moving forward than there is to stagger the two different iPad Pro sizes.

Finally switched over from my Xperia Z1. WOW this thing is compact!

Was also surprised by how difficult it was to find this around my area (Melbourne, Australia). Went to a couple sold out Apple stores before finally snagging one at a local electronics retailer. The guys at the Apple stores were very surprised by how fast they were selling out of these. Also, there were a fair bit of people asking them, "Why did you release a smaller phone again?"

Android user here, looking for a small premium, future-proof phone. Had my eye on the Xperia Z5 Compact, but it 'only' has 2 gb RAM. Same goes for this one though! Will the SE last for the two years of my contract or will it start to slow down as soon as new system software becomes available?

Have my 5 with the screen broken and the power button failing, so i preordered it on the 29th. Hope i get it by next week. It's kind of hard to be on one of those countries.. haha

It will last.

most iPhones last a few years. the 6s came out last fall. if that one will last a few years, so will this.
Generally, yeah, you can get two years out of an iPhone without too many issues, but Apple's done some weird things with software updates.

It's cool to say "you should be fine", but I definitely wouldn't guarantee it.

I'm conflicted. I can get this for about $50 on Sprint or I can get a free HTC something or other from my brother. If her ever clears out his music/pictures

Currently I have the 5.

I tried it at the store today and loved it.
But I'm really going to miss 3-D touch. Maybe the next version of the 4" model.

Hmm, wouldn't mind some pictures of the gold in the wild, if you don't mind! I always rock black/space gray, but with this phone I'm leaning either towards silver or gold.
Hard to capture in images but I'm loving the gold much more than I thought I would

First iPhone I'd describe as "pretty" in a good way. My first iPhone was a space gray 6

Got my silver SE since 31st and love it so far. Such a huge upgrade from my Nexus 5. Everything feels much faster and snappier. The battery last almost twice longer. The heat issue I used to have with the Nexus 5 is gone. For $500, I feel like the SE is the best bang of your buck right now.

How could you possibly know that?

It's possible to make an educated guess with these things. Low screen resolution, ridiculously fast storage and the A9 SOC (64bit and 2GB RAM) means it should be good for 3 or 4 years, or more if you need it to.

We usually can tell if an Apple product isn't going to last if it's already having frame rate issues on even the Springboard on day one like the iPad 3 and the iPhone 6 Plus did. The SE however flies.

I've got a question.

I'm on an AT&T Next plan. Can I give them back my phone before the whole 18 months are up
You cannot. It depends on what NEXT version you are on as to when you can trade it back and get a new phone. For instance, NEXT 24 lets you trade in after 24 monthly payments or you would completely pay off the phone after 30 monthly payments. The shortest one is NEXT 12 which lets you trade in after 12 monthly payments or pay off the phone after 20 months.

That being said you can completely pay off the remaining balance of the phone at any time and then use AT&T NEXT to upgrade again if you want.

I should be receiving my Gold unit in the mail this week. My partner ordered Rose Gold. Ended up going via my carrier rather than buying it outright.

Well the wife has an SE, she's very happy with it considering how slow her 5S was. She has the rose gold colour and it looks far better than I thought it would, I do like the design anyway but I'll be sticking with my S7 until the 7 is released at least.
