tbh I only got a gnex because of Porn,

ahem I mean Flash and customization.

I'm having trouble finding porn sites that DONT work on the iPhone these days.

The only obnoxious thing is the amount of restaurants whose web sites and menus are still flash.

Does that type of Flash work on Android? Like.. menus and whatnot desinged in Flash?

If I have to, I can use one of the numerous server based flash-rendering "browsers" on iOS... but they are slow.. and generally when I'm looking something up on my phone it's a near immediate need not something I want to take my time with.

Good

We need to keep the few companies that fight against the tsunami of cheaply built, plastic crap to be alive and healthy.

I am happy

The "incremental" update doesn't mean much to customers. Most people aren't poring over the processor and memory.

iPhone 5 is going to blow the doors out - and the iPhone 4 will be a "free" phone in the US.

Basically. Something like my Nexus One with more ram/internal storage could runs ICS without a problem. But everyone else is worried about dual this , quad that...

One thing Apple does right is battery tech. They are going to continue eating everyone else's cake.

35 million phones and 12 million iPads during a March quarter.. typically the slowest of the year after people have blown their bank accounts during the Holdays. Holy fucking shit. iPhones sales just a hair lower than last year's insane Christmas quarter. Damn.

In my humble opinion, Apple deserves every penny of their success. I don't mind them having a shitload of money, because they've shown they use it more responsibly than any other tech company out there, in terms of fundamentally moving this forward in a meaningful way.

I remember how my sister age 20 wanted to get an ip4s @ a verizon store last week and every and I mean every sales attendant there was PUSHING Android phones down her throat and in her ass HARD, LITERALLY.

it's so much better, you can do so much more, but a last she was dead set on a white ip4s to go along with her MBP....

They showed her a galaxy nexus and how great it was but shes like lol nope I have to fit in and I like the social aspect of the ip4s

The apple machine is motherfucking rolling thunder.... and it rolls along one hipster @ a time.

Hmm.

Ow not sort of but its pretty clear they feel completely helpless here.

People do not want to pay more than $200 for a new iphone in the USA, but AT&T still has to pay $600, the $400 difference AT&T has to pay up front and gets back after 1.5 years or so on fees from consumers.
They hate this.

Dude, if you're in contract, your prices are automatically $10 more per month than an equivalent out of contract plan.

they make more than half of the difference up just by virtue of making the plans more expensive in contrac than out of contract, since the only way you can get the discounted phones is, well, by signing up for a 2 year contract, typically.

Plus they have you locked in for 2 years

Yeah... he's acting like Android phones also aren't subsidized.

The only real reason carriers would care is they could potentially have higher margins offloading an Android phone on you.

Other than that, they pretty much have Apple to thank for the entire "Consumer Smart Phone + Data Plan" market taking off like it did in the first place.

And it just occurred to me that Apple could flush their entire Mac division down the toilet and still be the most successful company on the planet.

I would like an iPhone in the future but the data plan is just too much for me. If AT&T or Verizon every re instate their unlimited plans again I may jump in. But then again, I'm not sure what I'd use a smart phone for... oh well, at least there's my dumb phone. =p

EDIT: All that being said, please keep releasing mac mini's every year. Its such an awesome little piece of hardware for me. :)

Eh, I find the battery life on my 4S noticeably worse than what I got on my 4.

And the battery on the 3G was a joke.

Man the 4 was such a fucking good phone. I hope Apple can outdo it with the next update.

It's an interesting world we live in now. When Henry Ford's cars came around, they revolutionized our world, but also created a middle class due to the well-paid manufacturing jobs they necessitated and a product that was designed to be bought by its creators.

Apple is a different story altogether. The corporation is creating wealth for the wealthy, and interesting products for those that can afford them, but there is a distinct lack of utilitarian mindsets that is very vogue in our business world.

That's what operating in the global economy means. The US is a major market, but it's not all about us. The includes, jobs, wealth transfer, etc.

Kinda sucks in that light. One day it'll be the only way to play.

Not exactly sure, not a lot, but I think he has a couple hundred shares. It was a bad investment at the time... But now look who's laughing.

erm, a couple hundred shares?

If he bought it at $40 a share, and bought 200 shares, with apple jumping to $600 a share, that means he turned $8000 into $120,000.

That is great.

I await the day when APPL gets it's own GDP

Now wouldn't it be fucking awesome if they used that money to fund cancer research or a way to scrub our planet of pollutants.

If you're looking to sell tomorrow, history says you should sell at the open. When Apple rises post-earnings, it usually tends to lose some of its gains over the course of the day.

The most shocking thing was Tim Cook directly sourcing Gartners projection of 375 million tablet sales a year by 2015 as Apples estimate as well. Apple is notoriously extremely conservative in their projections.

If Apple buys into the 375 million a year tablet sales for 2015 then they likely feel that is probably under-estimating where the market will be.

That would mean in just three years the tablet market will blow past the entire PC industry. Desktops & Laptops combined.

I can believe it.

Market analysts who also happen to be Apple haters come up with the most hilarious articles IMO:

Verizon reported activations down some 30% from last quarter for iPhones. AT&T was just out with 4.3 million iPhones -- but last quarter they sold 7.6 million, a decline of 43% from last quarter!

Yes, AT&T's results were pretty good in terms of earnings. But when it comes to Apple the problem is the activation and sell-through numbers -- they're collapsing.

That's called market saturation and it was inevitable. Even with the "4S" the spurt was short-lived and now it appears the fanboi game has run its course. Worse is that it appears that only 21% of AT&T's activations were new customers.

:p
