One of the Coolest games released for any system (by far). These pictures don't do any justice to how great these graphics were; and if this game was online, it would probably be one of my most played online games ever. Very Hard game, which made my love for it double. Some of the levels were too amazing (lightning level), couldn't believe I was seeing this from my Gamecube.

Now this is a game for the hardcore. Beating it on every difficulty level is a pain in the ass but it is so satisfying and rewarding. Easily one of my favorite Gamecube games.

Such a beautiful game.

Try playing the game inside a movie theater with the dolby surround sound system blaring and the huge theater screen in front of you.

I bought F-Zero GX in August or September 2003 and still have not unlocked the AX tracks :(

such an exellent game, Sega did an awesome job.

Same here. It's a sick game but I just don't have that uber-ability to kick ass.

I never could get past the 6th level on this game. But I have unlocked all 20 tracks. I used to play this all the time with my friends. But one of them bought Mario Kart and that has taken it's place. But I still play it a lot by myself.

I'm horrible at this game. I can't even beat the second cup on Novice! :lol

(Truth be told, I haven't spent much time on this game, but plan to someday.)

Making cars is fun. I love the post-cup interviews with all the characters. The tracks take some serious skill to master, and there's a lot of gameplay to be had here. Tons of pre-made vehicles all with different driving styles (awesome). If you have a Gamecube and like racers, there's no reason to avoid owning this game, especially now as this game can be found cheap.

Beat everything except the character endings, and Chapter 9 on Very Hard difficulty. Absolutely loved it and it remains my favorite 'hovercraft' racer yet.

Only wish they got rid of those pipe/tube courses, they suck.

Exactly. Thank you, Amusement Vision. I was actually playing this game only a few days ago, getting my ass kicked on the Diamond Cup, as if it was the first time I played it. The game really hasn't aged a day in some respects.

I wish there were more racers that dared have 30+ opponents, all without rubber band AI. The game is godly for that alone.

Still haven't touched the game yet, but....

Hmm, that sounds like a good idea. I think I'll try that....in November :)

i appreciate that this game is hard as fuck and made people cry because of the difficulty

only wusses play below expert difficulty

developed by Sega, published by Nintendo.

Who would have though we'd be saying that about a nintendo IP ten years ago? :D

Competing in this game = who can snake the best. Impossible to beat anyone who can snake even half way decent. I got really good at snaking but eventually just stopped playing coz it hurt the hell out of my hands lol.

Beside Burnout 3 as my favourite racer this gen.

But some of those very hard story mode missions just kick my ass, they don't allow for a millisecond of error, and that's the way I likes it! :D

Fantastic game, AV absolutely nailed it. The only thing missing was a track editor. Seriously, I don't think it'd ever have left my GC if it had. It's something that needs to be there for the next installment.

The only thing i havent completed in this game is the ghost race in story mode in very hard. If you accomplish such a feat then you are seriously in a diffrent class of gamer. This game can get hard, but there is nothing more rewarding than taking out your rival in the last lap to edge him up on points to win the cup. Awesome game, good job Amusement Vision.

If only the 64DD was a success. I was ready to get one in the US if only for an F-Zero X (that game also deserves mention, especially for its Death Race) editor. And Mario Paint. :)

Edit: what could have been.

Chapters 7-9 of Story mode(Very Hard) are forged by Lucifer himself. Not that 1-6 were a slice of heaven, but holy shit!

I have never liked hover craft racers but feel compelled to buy this because it was made by one of Sega great development teams, they afterall do know the racing genre quite well.

Didn't we just have one of these? Not that I mind...F-Zero GX is one of my favorite games this gen and my favorite racer this gen by far. Hardcore and punishing with plenty of unlockables. God I'm so gay for this game. :D

I still haven't bought this game, but I think this thread is going to push me over the edge. Considering the fact that I love futuristic racers, I was stupid to wait this long.

That and it has been dirt cheap for a while now.

I have never played this game, I've always thought it looked great though.

Damn skippy! One of my favorite games ever, let alone this gen. It's absolutely perfect. I feel it's a perfect game, honestly.

Amirocks would you agree that F-ZeroGX will be trumped and dethroned by Ride Racer 6?

Love this game to death; it's a bit hard tho, as many have mentioned here. I'll never get to unlock the AX tracks. Maybe I'll be able to download a finished save when the revolution hits.

if ridge racer 6 has tracks that float in the sky with vehicles that go over 2000 kph

Here here! Complaints about difficulty are bullshit. Toughen up weaklings. The game doesn't give you any quarter and expects utter perfection from you as a racer, and how can anybody expect anything else racing at 1000+ Km/h

I've been playing this every so often since last year. That's rare. Much love AV, much love.
But the graphics aren't as awesome as everyone says. And the music! Don't get me started!

I am definitely NOT the person you should be asking this to. My answer would cause you to leap through your screen and kill me. And I'm not willing to take that risk!

Mmmm, 2000kph.

When I broke that barrier for the first time I think I got a tear in my eye! From sheer ADRENALINE-FILLED joy!

racing on cosmo terminal and seeing how many racers you can kill before the finish line rocks. i've killed like 18 racers one time, very fun :D

It's just so satisfying to hit an enemy with one of your attacks when you're racing that fast. It takes some precise timing, but it sure is awesome when you see them go down.

I've completed it several times where I simply won by default. :D

This game is pretty hard. I never was able to hit anything while racing. I didn't play much before I quit though. Anybody knows where I can find high score videos of GX?

Agreed. I didn't have the money for this game in the past and it slipped out of memory/interest. Then that CC sale came and I immediately got it. $10 well spent. :)

Also, the game is $15 in some places, maybe less, in some places. Anyone who likes racing and has a GC should have this game.

Definately one of my favorite racers ever. When I first saw the screenshots oh-so-many years ago, I knew this one was going to be special. The style is just fantastic, and the gameplay is next to none. I was so surprised this title sold poorly.

This game is freaking amazing. I might go back and try to beat Chapter 9 on Very Hard. That's the only thing left to do. Trying to beat Master Mode was so frustrating, but awesome at the same time. The perfect game for online. Goddamn it.

I really love this game as well. Just when I thought I would be done with it after unlocking everything, I finally learn to snake effectly and begin play around with game's physics in other ways. I opened up a whole new layer skill to dig into--I wish more racer had the same sense of depth.

Now, Nintendo needs to let AV handle a Rev version of F-Zero or GAF will go apeshit.

GAF may go apeshit, but I would go BATSHIT insane!!!
