Yep, for such a 'legit' brawler, he looks weak as fuck. Combine that with the fact that he's got no bulk, he looks like a joke. And why would a 'tough guy brawler' wear a fucking cape? Bad News Brown came out in plain black tights and wore no flair because the whole point was that he wasn't doing all the flashy wrestling shit.

Wade comes out in his special made trunks and his fucking cape.

Just have him slam around Mark Henry like he did years ago.

I don't know if Barrett's the guy you can build around with Cesaro around, but he's still pretty damn good.

Never got the appeal of Wade Barrett. Still don't.
Bad News Barrett is the best gimmick right now.

The writing is so terrible but that makes it so much better. He knows it, owns it, and His shit eating grin is absolutely hysterical every time he comes up on stage or does one of his cheap heat lines.

Oh it TNA PPV tonight.

The Anderson Vs Shaw match is going to be one for the ages whether we like it or not!

It's great up to the point where he says his catchphrase. The actual bad news he speaks about is often useless.

It's the mark of a good promo man to make crummy material sound good. His delivery makes the weak material seem hilarious.

Yes, he is having a lot of fun with it so its working. John Pollock commented on it saying how much more relaxed he was this year when he interviewed him compared to last year when he a lot more angry.

After watching that, I'm surprised most of that crew lived as long as they did, really. That Sting moment was great.

Is Roddy Piper okay?

Edit: I kind of wish Mankind had never switched from his original theme to the happy rock riff with claps he ended up using. There's a nice consistency to people using remixes of the same song for their entire careers, like William Regal.

There's little I hate more than wrestlers pulling people away from the ropes after they grabbed them and putting them right back into the same submission.

Has anyone ever won a match via a consecutive pin?

No, it's a tactical thing. Since they're tired enough to get pinned, you force them to kick out a multiple times in a row and it exhausts them more than a single kickout would. It also forces them back to their feet before they're ready which can leave them vulnerable, too. Good commentary gets it over as the attacker taking control of the pacing of the match.

Baron Corbin has looked fucking weird in the gear he's had in his three matches so far. Like he's too tall for his body.
I just checked out a pic- he's had skin reduction surgery on his midsection, which is part of it, you can see the stretch marks and the scar in the middle. You're completely right though, his proportions are off. His gear's at where low-rise jeans stop on your body, and he needs to get the waist moved up on his body because his proportions look completely wacky outside of that context.

I'm glad they're moving away from "Everyone must look like Randy/Dave!" gear-wise - I remember them debuting Jack Swagger like that, and he just looked weird as hell. They had him back in a singlet the next week.

PWInsider reports that Mark Livingston, the promoter for Hardcore Roadtrip, disappeared during the evening portion of last night's doubleheader event. Livingston was nowhere to be seen by the end of the show and most of the talent had not been paid for the evening show, nor had transportation arrangements been made for workers to go from the London, Ontario area into the US so they could catch flights back home at the Buffalo and Detroit airports.

The show actually ended with an announcement about the situation; after the final match between Jesse Amato and Masada, the locker room came out to applaud them and then got into the ring. Ring announcer Stephen DeAngelis explained the situation, thanked the talent and asked any fans who had passports and could transport talent to help out if possible.

Another report from the site noted that talent who worked only the matinee show were paid, along with those who had requested their money up front. It was only those who had waited until after the show for their pay who were left out.

There was a story running around backstage that Livingston's wife took him to the hospital, but that is not confirmed and no one was officially told that. Gregory Iron noted in a post to his Facebook page that he hurt his neck taking a bad bump, acknowledging that it was his own fault but saying that he may have hurt himself unpaid because Livingston "faked a heart attack".

The promotion has an iPPV scheduled for tonight but that's entirely up in the air at this point and may well not happen. Livingston has been unavailable for comment since he disappeared.

As awful as this guy and the Extreme Rising guy ultimately were, I will say I love this ongoing trend that's been happening for literally over a decade now where multiple things sprout from the ashes of ECW, somehow with all of them becoming worse.

More on BNB:

Wade Barrett's stock within WWE went up a lot with his promo at the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. Vince McMahon has been high on Barrett for a while and is a fan of the Bad News Barrett gimmick.

The linear champion seems to be in a higher position right now.
