Are you interested in buying a $399 Xbox One without Kinect?

Yes, I was planning to buy one with a kinect but I was waiting a year or more from launch like I am with PS4 and Wii U.

I already own a few xbox one and Wii U games.

No.

I already own a PS4 and this price cut is doing nothing for me. Maybe next price when there also exclusives around I am actually interested in, but then I also always remember the shit they wanted to pull...

I was going to post this, almost verbatim

If I see some great games that I have to have, yes. If its on PC, I'll go there. On PS4 and Xbone, but not PC? I'll go PS4. So basically Gears and Halo + whatever other exclusives they have. I absolutely love Gears so if the next one is actually good I'll be getting Xbone for sure. In a perfect world I'll be able to hold out long enough for a slim version around $300.

No, mainly because I do want It with Kinect. I'll definitely be buying both a console and Kinect when Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break are both released.

Still no....

Frankly, even less so now at this point. I have a PS4, so its kinda hard to justify paying X amount of dollars to buy a system that plays essentially the same games at worse quality.

At least with the Kinect you can say "well, at least the Kinect is kinda interesting".

So my timeline for getting it hasn't changed. That timeline being "probably in 4 years".

I think 4 years is good.

I don't mind kinect because my kids love it(I personally don't like it). But I am more interested in the XOne now that netflix is no longer behind a paywall. I really don't care about the raw power since both consoles are ancient compared to my basic gaming PC.

So yeah, I'll probably be getting one..eventually.

Not really. I just have too many reasons not to get one.

In previous gens, it was fine because my backlog wasn't all that big... Now there are too many games to play... I got enough on steam, sony systems, iOS to last me forever. And then even before I get an xbone I'll be getting a 3DS and iPhone 6 this year, maybe wii u next year after a price cut, and then I'll need a new PC the year after that. So it'll be four years or 2017 before I consider it really.

Secondly I think kinect is kinda intrusive, I haven't seen any voice command system that actually is fun and easy to use. And motion gaming with a camera has proven to be gimmicky and I can't see that changing.

Thirdly I don't want to have to pay for another subscription for multiplayer gaming. It's just too much for someone who plays a couple of hours a week.

Fourthly I need more Japanese games on my system, which is why I'm more keen on the handhelds lately.

So I just don't think it's for me. I mean I was interested in titanfall but fps is not really for me. And they butchered forza 5 to be a very grindy game... But I will watch the E3 conference to see if they can convince me otherwise. It's a good move that they announced this first, now more ppl will watch the conference.

I would have bought one during the retailer sales, but had a speeding ticket to pay instead.

$450 with titanfall or forza and 12 months of Live was a hot deal at Target. It's currently back to $499 with nothing, and while Kinect sucked, dropping it doesn't make it more appealing at $399 really.

I'll wait to see what exclusives they're going to have.

Nope. I have a PS4, PS3, Vita, X360 and a now a new MacBook Pro w/ graphics card. Plenty to play there, and too little time to play them all. PS4 will be fine for next gen stuff. It's going to take a metric ass load of exclusives (that aren't competitive MP FPS, I might add) to get me excited. Nintendo has already lost me for good and MS largely has, too. I'm going to go where there's the widest selection of single player AAA, quirky indie and retro games (my tastes). Playstation and my MBP should have me covered.

Will I miss some stuff? Yeah. Sunset Overdrive looks cool. But if PS4 keeps up it's momentum then many if those games will come over eventually. But if I miss out, so be it. No one can play all the games.

nope. should be $449 with Kinect, since it's not as strong as PS4. Also, buying a X1 without Kinect feels like, weird. Like buying a 360 without HDMI.

When Platinum announced WII U exclusives I bought it.
When Platinum announces their Xbone exclusive I will buy it.
If Platinum announces a PS4 exclusive I will buy it.

That's pretty much my console buying road map.

No not even a little bit. Don't get me wrong the kinect non-sense was a big turn off but it was never the main reason I would never buy one. For me a games console is about games and Microsoft's library just doesn't interest me. Yes I'm sure Sunset Overdrive will be great and I've always loved Halo (even if 4 was a bit disappointing) but these aren't enough to even get me close to spending 300-400 dollars on a second console. I know its probably a fallacy but Sony's line up of 1st party studios and 3rd party exclusives has always been a more diverse collection of games in my mind and they are games I have more interest in playing. So I'm betting on that with the PS4, maybe it will turn out to be wrong, who knows. But by that time the prices on the consoles will have hopefully dropped and then maybe I'll get an xbox.

To be honest, before the generation started, I would have said yes.

Right now though, no. The games on the Xbox One aren't really different enough for me to bother shelling out the money for another console at this point in time. Sunset Overdrive and possibly Quantum Break (when we get the inevitable blowout at E3) look like they have the potential to be great games - but they're just not unique to the point where I feel like I'm missing out.

And I barely even have time to play on my PS4 right now. Nevermind the backlog of last gen games.

Posted my thoughts in the announcement thread but basically despite the Xbox One getting some nice exclusives down the line, there's nothing really compelling me to get one.

Both the PS4 and the Wii U have more of the games that I'm interested in.

If I find anything to play on the One, I could probably just borrow it from my cousin or play at a friend's house.

I don't plan on buying one this year. I already decided to go with PS4 as my primary console for the current generation and I believe there will be enough coming for that system to keep me satisfied.

Would I buy an Xbox One down the road? I probably would if Microsoft stayed committed in the long-term to supplying great 1st party games which was a huge problem with the 360 in its last few years. Killer Instinct and Sunset Overdrive both look like great games that I would definitely purchase if I ever got the system, but it'll take more than that to convince me. However, the price cut and removal of Kinect (because I'm greedy and want good games in Rare IP) do make the Xbox One more enticing so this news is still positive for me even if I don't buy that system for a long time / ever.

Still all about the games. And right now, and actually even this fall/winter, there is not enough to get me to dive in for either console.

I don't understand this. If you buy now you can play the few good games that come out. If you wait until there is enough you will have a backlog and never get through it.

Nope.

I already have my primary console this gen that I'm quite satisfied with - PS4. Not going to get an Xbox One when I already purchased a $400 console that gives me everything I want and offers better multiplatform games.

It's going to take a more substantial reduction in price coupled with more robust exclusives for me to consider picking up an Xbox One. $299 + 5-7+ killer exclusive games (largely new IPs) is when it starts looking more attractive, but even then I may just hold out until the end of the generation when it's even cheaper and hopefully has an even better lineup.

Then again, who knows. Maybe Microsoft reveals some insane killer app at E3 and I bite. Doubtful, but we'll see.

Nope,
I have the ps4 , pc, vita, 3ds, wiiu, i think I'm covered for this gen I would reconsider it only if it have few exclusive I really want to play.

Short Answer: No.

Longer Answer: Waiting on hardware and UI redesign, consistent offline play, & more games, then I'll buy in.

PCS4 for me this gen... Funnily enough like the last... And the one before that... And, would you believe, the one before that

Right now no. I already have a PS4 and early in the cycle there aren't enough games to justify it and I buy most games on a PC. I barely use my PS4 already with how few games there are now that also aren't on PC. I can't do that to my wallet again. If it had backwards compatibility then I would consider buying one in a more near term. I won't buy an Xbox One anytime soon but in the future when it's cheaper. Probably even a Kinect if they go in a direction with it that I hope they do.

My understanding is that there's some always listening feature that the you can turn on. Create a low power state just a bit more than standby/sleep that allows a bunch of always listening apps for voice controlled devices. I imagine it can be used like phones where there are a bunch of apps to interact with internet of things type devices except now voice controlled and not having to open specific apps to use. Just background apps after pairing waiting for voice commands.

It would be a real nice gimmick. They would have to get the non-gaming/media type app store out first but Kinect as a remote for internet of things devices has a lot of potential. It would probably be a toy for the rich for a while as I imagine the only ones with network connected lights, fans, HVAC, toasters, windows, blinds, internet enabled audio receivers, and all the other random crap having network technology applied to into it would be pretty wealthy.

The internet of things is approaching. "Xbox make coffee", "Xbox turn on shower 76 degrees Fahrenheit", "Xbox open windows", "Xbox switch to front door camera feed", "Xbox adjust chair height 2 inches, rotate vertical 20 degrees, rotate horizontal 10 degrees". All of this kind of stuff while not having the Xbox fully on. It probably won't be a huge selling point because at this point crap like that really are toys for the rich. I don't have any of that stuff but maybe in the future there will be a desktop chair with am Xbox One Kinect app. Next level laziness. Honestly I imagine something like this happening sooner on PC when they release the Kinect 2 for PC and random internet maker movement people start giving it a go.

Right now? No.

But if I decide to pick one up in a few years it's going to be one without Kinect
