Are you mentally prepared that next GTA 7 could be released in year 2040?

Bad gameplay wrapped around pretty graphics. Bad driving, bad shooting, bad quest design, bad writing. How is that not mid?

The difference is the world doesn't stop revolving for a new TES. We got mofos here thinking the gen starts with GTA when it's a mediocre-of-all trades type of deal. If it got regular hype, I wouldn't even be complaining, but acting like it's some kind of milestone is comical. I sleep.

Yeah, so as usual, nothing to address the valid points made, or are you going to tell us how good the driving and shooting in GTA are?

Lol. Mid games and people like you who gas this shit up is why it gets 95+ scores before even coming out and when we dare call out the gameplay, we got defense forces just saying it has high production values and ignore the rest.

I just hope Rockstar is prepared for how big GTA 6 online will be. It has a legitimate shot to being bigger than Fortnite, imo. I'm not sure we see another Rockstar single player game until GTA 7 in 2040, which is sad. Hopefully they are prepared to grow a lot
Fortnite is Free to play and on mobile, both things they could have done with GTA V online but didn't so I doubt that.

Also I hope singularity occurs by 2040s and we don't have to worry about company products anymore.

i'll be thinking of you old fucks when i'm playing GTA 8

I was talking about more from a financial perspective. I wouldn't be surprised if they made GTA 6 online a subscription service, like World of Warcraft. It's going to print money

Thats exactly the same nonsense people said about GTA VI.

The games driving force is the singleplayer. Always has been. Always will be.

Sure there will be plenty of folks who will buy it for the MP, but especially in the beginning they will buy it for SP.

Its quite possible Rockstar will also open MP later, same as with GTA V.

I think they just keep upgrading GTAVI and plugging in new stories / locales / characters, all part of the same world.

Even if it was released in 4020 I would not care. I still have not played one and GTA6 does not look interesting to me (so far).
I've played every single one. For about 4 hours of actually following the story and then a couple of hours of shooting stuff and crashing etc. I played GTAIV the most, that was the best one for me (of the new ones, played quite a bit of the first one and the london one).

Only thing I hate is that we have to wait a long time for the next Liberty City game.

I don't think it will be as long as GTA5 > 6.

I think Rockstar were just coasting because of Online. If Online ever becomes it's own thing truly, then proper entries might start coming out in reasonable time (8 Years max).

I'll be almost 70 by then. I would feel lucky if I am in good health to play games regularly - but GTA probably won't be my cup of tea.
(un)Luckily, GTA still isn't my cup of tea even though I tried to like the Rockstar open world games several times... so chances are, I won't feel left out.

I personally think it won't be that long, AI and tech will catch up to speed up development time somewhat. There's no way that what devs are doing now, is going to be the same in 5-10 years

I want to be playing Cyberpunk 2077 in the year 2077 when I'm 90+ and it's an ultra retro game one step up from Pong compared to whatever we have then.

Won't be a gta 7. The next iteration will be gta world with online and generated characters and cities. It will be its own platform. Time to release will be less than 5 to 6.

I never really thought about it,but im coming to an age that GTA 6 could be the last GTA i play in my lifetime😪
That's a bit dramatic coming from a ten-year old. You're only going to be 25 by then. Just eat your vegetables, sleep well and do as your mom tells you and you'll be healthy as a cucumber in the future, kiddo. =)

Its so hard to tell right now.

With how Ai is advancing, sure, I can see GTA7 releasing sooner if the tech indeed speeds up development (and I more so mean with boring task that might take a long time to complete like coding assisting in speeding up dev time, I still want humans designing and making the fun etc)

I want to get back to the days of a GTA releasing start of the gen and that engine used for several GTA titles, so maybe in the future we get back to that ala GTA 7 release start of PS7 and then we get GTA London, GTA Chicago O Block Edition and GTA Texas Breaking Bad (wit dem Cartels and Mexico as a area) lol

So who knows really, tech moves so fast, I hope we do get to the point of faster development turn arounds while maintaining quality and a human element in design

GTA VI, Elder Scrolls VI, Witcher 4, and maybe Fallout 5 if we're lucky would be the last massive game of it's kind before something major happens to the world.

GTA may be a huge household name and money maker in the casual-mainstream audience's eyes, but I have no interest in these exorbitantly 5+ years long development cycles. They've become beyond ridiculous. The results they produce aren't worth the wait most of the time. Early GTAs (III, SA, VC and IV to a degree) used to have this cool personalized art style which bared Rockstar's own "signature" look and managed to stand out. Something Dan Houser seems to have taken with him over at Absurdventures.

Now they, Rockstar with Sam Houser at the helm, seem to be fixated on replicating realism for the sake of it and its taking an obscene amount of ressources to do it. While I might not really care anymore, its great for those who enjoy that kind of thing though.

Getting old is shit, but I'm not too bothered to be honest. I think we've seen everything that they can really do with GTA at this point. All they can do at this point is make different stories within the framework they have created. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think that there will be anything really new with GTAVI. I imagine it will be a slight iteration on what has been before.

Going from GTA 2 to GTA 3 will always be the biggest 'wow' moment for me in the series. Unless they've got some awesome stuff cooking up when it comes to physics I think it'll be business as usual. We haven't had such a massive jump in gaming technology as we did back in the early 00s to make such a significant impact on games.

It's one of the greatest gifts of my life that I don't like GTA. I like the IDEA of it but I can't actually play it. I can't play Yakuza either. I find the moment to moment gameplay simplistic, generic and meaningless and it creates a pit of boredom when I try to play them. The radio is no longer good due to song licensing. In the past, every song was a banger. In the last GTA it was more like a real radio where > 75% of the songs suck.

So yeah, I'm mentally prepared. Hell, delay 6 again for all I care.

We'll be playing games made via prompts well before that.
I will play my own GTA 7 when that happens.

Blah. Y'all can keep your earthly frame dips and day-one patches. I'll be posted up in Arcadia Prime (that's Gamers' Heaven for the uninitiated), sipping on a pixel-infused Mana Colada at the Insert Coin Afterlife lounge, tucked away in the 8-Bit Nirvana sector, where every jukebox only plays SNES RPG soundtracks and Koji Kondo remixes.

After that? I'm headed to Save Point Eternal, where I left off in a game inspired by both Miyazaki, Kojima, & that one dude who modded Skyrim into a dating sim.

And yeah, I'll swing by AFK Haven to catch up with the fallen legends , Satoru Iwata, Ken Block, and that one friend who always picked Oddjob. We'll shoot the digital breeze and talk about how the real GOATs now chill in The Cartridge Cloud, a reality where fictional characters hang out like it's Smash Bros but without the licensing issues.

Geralt's there as usual, posted in the corner, sipping something bitter and brooding over fucking up is chances with Tifa.

Me: "Yo G, you still trying to pull Tifa with that gravel voice and no Riz build?"
Geralt: "I gave her a rose. She gave me yakisoba. It's complicated."
Me: "At least you ate good, my guy."

Meanwhile, Solid Snake's in the back arguing with Doomguy about who would win in a no-weapons hand-to-hand, while Dante DJ's on vinyl using Astro Bot's soundtrack (I know right? The fuck he doin?). Snake was flatlined but he'll just be at The Respawn Zone where everyone who said the wrong shit to a nigga ends up.

You wanna reach me? Don't bother with DMs. Just load up your copy of Chrono Trigger, glitch through the End of Time, and look for the door labeled "Co-Op Lobby: Eternal." Bring bitches.

Peace from a 52 year old nigga.
