Lol, never. Miss out on experiencing the best console experience for 2 years? Then when you finally buy a slim a year later the Pro and XSXX come out...

Absolutely. The XSX looks fine as it is, but it has no selling point for me. The PS5 does, but it looks absolutely hideous. When they eventually release a slim that you can actually stand looking at, I'm there day one.

That wasn't part of our deal TB.

Im not necessarily waiting for a slim model but I am waiting to see how the exclusives situation looks in a year or 2. For now I have tons to play on PC and if we start seeing more exclusives come to PC I dont really see the need.

IMO, I think with the amount of engineering that went into this model + the already high cost components like APU + Cooling + GDDR6 RAM + crazy expensive 5.5 GBPS raw ssd, the next model is a way off, if there is one. If you are thinking revision model, I'd say maybe after 4 years at the least.

I would like to wait for a redesign of the PS5 since its ugly as sin, but I'll probably cave when the new Gran Turismo is released.

No.

Personally, waiting for Halo Infinite before I buy a next-gen console. I think I'll upgrade my GPU until then.

Coincidentally, waiting on buying a 3070 because I can't find any :messenger_weary:

I'm still going for a digital edition, eventually, but I just can't get over the way it looks :(
Shouldn't let such a superficiality stop you. It's big girl, but she has a certain way about her, the confidence, the attitude. And you don't look at the mantlepiece when you're stoking the fire. The ideal bikini babe may be years away.

Yeah, the PS5 is too damn huge and ugly, and has no interesting exclusives, but will be stacked with them ~3 years from today when Slim shows up.

XSX on the other hand is more OK to my taste, but it's still a shame MS didn't made a digital-only console, which should be abouthalf of the size. Nevertheless I'll be getting one due to the LG promo, but if there will be a Slim model somwhere down the line preferably similar to 1X design, I'll most likely switch to it.

What gives you the impression that an all digital Series X would be half sized? 😂

I'm waiting for my Series X from Walmart to arrive, will prob wait for a slim PS5, that thing is too big, plus the hardware issues need to be corrected.

I've become addicted to GT Sport recently so you and I both. But that latest trailer suggested no GT7 in first half of next year (I suspected that anyway) so maybe I'll buy one beforehand. Why everything has to take so long to release these days? GT1 to 3 released in 3 year span...😕

Just waiting for the price drop like I usually do. I'm in no rush. The games I want will be released and fixed by the time I purchase my ps5.

Absolutely, I don't have room for these monsters. I don't need an art piece distracting me from the tv. Just give me a black rectangle.

The internal design is split in two sides, one containing the BD drive and PSU, and if you take the BD drive out of the picture you're left with just the PSU that can be moved onto the other half, next to the cooling (which would then require a redesign/fan repositioning):

Yes and no. I have a launch PS5 but she's a coyote ugly booty call, not my perfect match. When a prettier girl comes along I'm dumping her in a New York second. She knows the deal. We have a mutually beneficial relationship for now. 🤔😎

Edit: as for Xbox X/S she skates by as pretty enough with a big booty so not necessarily looking to dump her quite as quick if better option comes along.

Not really. I buy a console when I feel that it is going to be reliable, and have the best quality components.
So basically, day-one for Xbox consoles is fine (except 360 of course), day-one for Nintendo consoles is recommended as they tend to reduce component quality (especially screens) with time.

I'd settle for a reasonably sized model. And a reasonably priced model. So far the only ps5 I've seen was at a second hand shop which sold it for £799 lol nah I'll just wait until after Xmas.

Just waiting for restock, don't really care what the thing looks like that much, I mean I do in a *oooh nice new tech kind of way, but it's going to be hiding away in my entertainment unit anyway.

If you're waiting you'll be doing so for a long time. Mine is arriving next Monday. I was stuck with the base PS4 so it was kind of a no brainer for me though

It's been less than a hundred days since launch I would start carving into your PS5 than start the wait for a slim version already.

I´m waiting for games.

Since the Fat-Versions are already whisper quiet and I have the space it doesn`t matter.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a Slim; it's pretty clear they had a lot of trouble with cooling this gen and that won't be fixed any time soon. The fact that Sony went as far as developing a novel method of liquid metal cooling is a good indicator of how dire things are from an engineering perspective.

Enjoy now.

Slim models(at least for Playstation) tend to have a cheaper, plastic-y look. PS5 already has a cheap, flimsy look and feel to it, so maybe they will surprise everyone and maybe improve the design?

Last time I waited for a slim revision was PS3, which was severely overpriced and didn't have any good games until right before the slim. All other PlayStations have had solid libraries by the 2nd or 3rd year.
