Does it get better? Ive watched a few episodes of Nikita, but it really didnt grab me
well yes I stand corrected, those two are dead. however the circumstances in how they died are different. one man was shooting at Ollie and he reacted by shielding himself with the other guy (who was not an innocent anyway) Helena on the other hand killed Valati and that other man and almost killed Ollie's mother and could have hurt more while getting away. Ollie has killed but he is trying for something big, which is save a city. Helena is on a personal vendetta that is hurting innocents. the opposite of what Ollie is trying to prevent.

It's fantastic.
Just caught up with the episode.
What are you all on? Helena/Huntress was great! Hilarious cross-fades at the kiss at the end asides (though I dug that track). Also didn't think they'd get to the making out portion of their relationship that fast. But I thought that Ollie and Helena had really good chemistry at the dinner scene at the scene at the end.
Is Ollie a hypocrite? I mean, he offed two dudes at the same time Helena murdered the psycho who killed her fiancee. Come on, dude. Chill. You're not some heroic beacon of justice quite yet.
I did like Jessica de Gouw here though. She is damned pretty. She also had an odd accent. She had an accent, right? I wasn't going nuts?
Also, awesome to see Walter back. Cool guy. So Captain Jack is not only Tommy's dad, he a complete asshole. I must admit though, Tommy and Laurel are actually a pretty good couple. They got chemistry and seem to be having fun. Let them stay together and let Oliver and Helena be together and let's be free of this romantic relationship melodrama.
Alas, we're on the CW.
Good to see Detective Lance stopped taking his psycho pills and is gradually coming down off his high.
Hey, wait.
No island flashbacks this time. What the hell!? Where's Badass Chinese Island Guy!?
Anyways, awesome episode. Probably gonna go hunt down some Tumblr gifs or something.
Only thing though, Tamoh Penikett deserved more. He's a great actor, but last couple of things I've seen of him seem to love killing him off fast. He got blown up in Castle and he got throat punched to death here. I could have seen him being a decent recurring villain. But at least White-Haired Martial Arts Lady made a comeback.
This show moves so fast. So next week, sexy power couple Arrow and Huntress takes on the Triads?

They had a bit of that spark in the dinner scene. I see some chemistry there. Though, it's pretty clear that de Gouw seems to be fighting an accent. She's Australian, right? But you think Armell and De Gouw have good chemistry![]()
Ha. I finally got a chance to rewatch it because CW in New York was failing on Wednesday cutting in commercials way to early and replaying the exact same commercials later. I agree with everything with in this post.
Every character relationship felt a lot more natural than any previous episode. The action was sparse. I didn't care for the fight in the restaurant but every other brief moment was well done and built up nicely. It's pretty insane that Ollie thought he could run down a motorcycle. You're not the Flash.
I have to disagree with this logic. Helena was already performing a very righteous act by acting as a whistleblower on her own family. She was definitely doing an even cleaner job than what Ollie was doing up until her actions got her boyfriend killed.
AdrianWerner's point about Helena not caring about accidentally harming innocent people is a better reason in pointing out how they are different. Another good reason is that Oliver wouldn't abandon a foolproof plan such as immediate access to family records (well we'll see how this plays out when the truth about his mother is learned :| ) in favor of killing the bad guys as scene in the first episode.
right but she went from whistleblowing to killing. why not finish what she started?
maybe now with Ollie she will learn to temper herself. I can already see the bodyguard not approving too.
Huntress has always been a messed up chick anyway.
But oh man, the costumed vigilante sex is gonna be so hot. Believe it.
Decent ep, but I rolled my eyes at the end when the Huntress said she knew who he was when she looked in his eyes. It didn't work for me when John Blake said it, it ain't gonna work here.
Well, it makes much more sense here. She did saw him fight and few days ago the whole town was talking about how he was a suspect in vigilante case.
Okay. So now I'm a little concerned upon finding out the name of John Barrowman's character.
Mr. Merlyn
How they are going to portray the character.
I can see Tommy going evil to impress daddy, but not Barrowman himself becoming an active villain.

The problem for me with Tommy going evil is... how would he learn to use a bow and arrow? Ollie spent five years in hell to become as good as he is. Tommy's hardest struggle in life was convincing Laurel to let him in her pants. So Tommy being the Dark Archer or whatever it's called would be hard for me to believe, even down the line. Mr. Merlyn... maybe, but I wonder why he'd do it... just to fuck with Arrow?
This whole plotline about Tommy becoming an archvillain is poorly handled. This tv show has lasted longer than all 3 Spiderman movies but we've literally seen Peter and Harry being friends in the first movie with a total screen time than Tommy and Ollie being friends. Considering their past interactions after the first episode I wonder how they can still be friends.
They need to fix this.

You mean like a, or just a regular villain. Because he already sent hitmen to kill Ollie, didn't he?costumed supervillain

Fix what? Who is to say that we'll even see him become an archvillain any time soon? Quite a lot of assumptions there.
Former.
Yes, he did get into her pants!
So... think they'll kill off anyone major this season? Don't think his stepdad will make it more than a couple seasons.

Stepdad will be first to go. I don't see him living past this season. Then the mother. Then Thea.
I don't see Tommy as a villain any time soon. His journey to becoming evil will probably be a long one. His father on the other hand, we already know is deeply involved in criminal activity.
Dawson's Creek was on the CW? Never watched that show. This is the network that made Dawson's Creek season 2. So they'll screw up the romances that work.

I hope they don't make him evil just so the show ends with "Ollie and Laurel = True Love"!
I literally burst out into laughter right now.Don't worry. In the end, Tommy will see the light and help Ollie when his butler tells him that on the night his father died, he cleaned his wound and the arrow that pierced his body came from his father's quiver.

I'm rewatching Muse of Fire. China White is seriously the least inconspicuous assassin ever.
Seriously, what accent is Helena supposed to have!? It's driving me up the wall.
Quentin Lance has some serious mojo going on in the chest area.
Also this scene between Tommy and Mr Merlyn is hilarious. Tommy just got verbally curbstomped.
Still don't like how Ollie has killed two people. I don't remember Arrow killing anyone in the JLA comics I've read.
Fairly sure he's killed a lot more than two people
Lots of random mooks getting arrows in vital looking areas
