Barrowman's in the season two cast, role so far unknown![]()
I agree with this, seeing Ironman and RDJ preform in it was a nice breath of fresh air for the comic book heroes and I'm glad RDJ kept to that tone throughout the franchise. Now, seing IM is the biggest Avengers property Marvel has thanks to the well done first film they probably decided to keep the franchise tonally consistent with Tony Stark's character so that he wouldn't have to be too toned down in the proper Avengers film. I think these are all fine choices, just wonder how it'll affect Thor 2 and CA2 seeing that Thor had some funny moments but CA was completely different from the tone perspective to all other Marvel movies. The other movie that really differed from the rest of the franchise was The Incredible Hulk but that can be forgiven since that was really the first movie to come out. Still, TIH looks more like a DC movie based on the tone they used in it.While Whedon definitely helps cement the lighter tone in the Marvel movies, I think the actual determining factor in going down a path with a sense of humor was Robert Downey Jr's performance in Iron Man.
I'm not sure I'm happy with how they're casting the Black Canary and not making it an accurate representation of the DCU.
Also, because I'm sure that would cause trouble for Oliver's "current" relationship.
I imagine Tommy's death already killed that relationship. The new Black Canary will just throw some dirt over its carcass. But don't worry, the showrunner has said his goal for Laurel and Oliver's relationship is to perpetually break them up and get them back together throughout the show.
Either way, it's one of those rare shows where the majority of the cast is likeable.
Just like every other show out there, huh?
Every other show with garbage relationship melodrama, sure.
What can I say, I'm a sucker for this stuff.
For what it is worth, I am in TEAM Laurel+Ollie! Bring it on!
You seem to be just about the only one.

Who exactly are you guys rooting for? Felicity?
Nope, you can count me on that boat.
They've spent a majority of the show implying that Laurel was a big focus for Ollie when he was on the island. Feels like it would be a big cop out if when all is said and done (end of series, etc) that they don't end up with each other.

And Thea.
It's unfortunate that ship doesn't seem to sail particularly well.
Edit: But my mind is already finding ways to make a Thea + Helena scenario. Helena comes back to Starling city and heads to the Queen mansion hoping to hunt Ollie at home, but instead of him, she finds Thea, startling her as she exits the bathroom with nothing but a towel.
BRB.
even taking into account the way they've written Laurel and the lack of chemistry between the two actors, is that the story itself has put a massive squick factor into the relationship. If you're going to do a will they, won't they then a pilot where you have one half the relationship cheat on the other with her sister who then ends up dead isn't exactly the best way to go.
Added to the dead zone between the two actors and the uneven writing (and performance) of Laurel having her hop back into Ollie's bed just makes her seem more of a simpering fool.

You two are insane. That is the most toxic relationship on television. It is a terrible idea on so many levels. You two are genuinely insane.
Nah, I am fine. Will love the sodium content rise when the pairing gets what they deserve in S2, though![]()
SO more like "dating the best friend of your dead boyfriend whose father killed your sister" - how is that for starters?
Ollie's D, man. That thing's gotta be magical.
See, NotTheGuy, you shouldn't be so upset about the superpower thing. Oliver had a superpower all along.

Diggle.
Lol damn, I don't think I've ever seen so many people against the most canon relationship on a show.
It's okay though, I know we're all here because we love half naked Ollie.
whose making the OT for season 2?
Huge spinning GIF of Roy flipping around and nothing else.
There's your OT.
Lois was canon though. Always the one true love. Comicbook Oliver might shack up with Laurel, but he's much more of a playboy than Kent ever was.I like Oliver and Felicity as they are. Them in a relationship would be weird, especially when you know the romance is ultimately doomed since he's going to end up with Laurel.
Someone referenced Smallville and I think it would be exactly like the Lana plot after Lois was added; you know Clark is going to be with Lois sooner or later, so any time they try to do the Lana/Clark thing, it just feels like a waste of time.

But Green Arrow usually marries Canary eventually, and the showrunners seem intent on the putting the two together at some point. So while it isn't 1:1, the situations are comparable and make it hard for me to take Ollie being with anyone else seriously. Personal nitpick, really.
Can't we keep this one? Other shows can do it.Off topic: whose making the OT for season 2?
