Arrow S5 |OT| You thought you were out, but Manu Bennett pulls you back in.

So I was like 7 episodes behind on Flash and Arrow and have been catching up last night.

I dunno how I'm going to sit through this shit much longer after watching up until episode 5. I can't put into words how much I hate this shit with Oliver and his crew of sidekicks idgaf about.

If you don't like what the show is doing now, it's time to give up. These are some of the strongest episodes they've made.

Ben from Reaper is annoying though even after the ass beating he needs to take a few more darts/Arrows to the knee and I wouldn't have wept had Prometheus turned "Artemis" into a pin cushion. Even though I know it isn't I wish he was Tommy but Tommy is a doctor in Chicago... I liked that cross over fake life exchange

The show clearly isn't for you unless you want a return to Olicity, but that probably isn't even going to happen either

This show has never been particularly good but based on what I've seen so far, this season hasn't touched season 2 or even season 1.

Olicity is what killed this show's potential.

I'd rather they'd go back to no sidekicks, or keep it very limited rather than trying to build another group.

The overwhelming majority would disagree, though. I think it's likely the show has just lost you and you can no longer look past its flaws to find the things you like.

Aw, should have gone with a spoilerific Hi Ollie.

When I compile the list, Arrow is definitely going to be on top. It's figuring out where everything else should go that'll be a problem. 6 out of my 10 are going to be CW, so it's a question of who needs the points more than anything.

And I'm caught up, with the exception of the crossover episode that I kinda skimmed through cause I wanted to get back to the main plot, though I've heard a lotta shit about it.

Season 5 picked up. Artemis is trash but somewhat interesting now. Wild Dog is still just trash. Curtis is trash on another level. Diggle needs to get his shit together. Felicity is, and this is a pleasant surprise, not insufferable and actually reasonable.

Thea still best girl.

Laurel is back, wut.

Prometheus is interesting, that was Dark Knight shit he pulled off with what's his face. Based on what Amell has said, he's probably Tommy - hoping so, anyway.

Now to catch up on Flash so I can enjoy the crossover in full.

Wild Dog was great with his self aware "Oliver knows I never listen to him" stuff. Also helped him get the drop on Prometheus.

I actually kind of like Wild Dog now. D:

Yeah, he grew on me quickly.
When we learned about the crew this season I was kinda pissed(like we couldn't have 1 of the 2 legitimate Artemis?) and they are easily F-rate comic characters.
Yet they work in a way that "better" characters(Roy, Ray, Thea, Laurel and Helena) weren't allowed to in this series.
They are so low tier they were allowed to be shit on but since the team is a focus and not fighting Oliver for screentime they seem like they have done way more in this little amount of time.

Diggle and Sara feel like the only "sidekicks" that were allowed to be good before.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Wild Dog is a ride or die
RagDude is chill and gets work done
Artemis is a snake
Mr. Below Average needs to take his marital frustrations out on some criminals and level up already.
Diggle is a Day 1
Felicity has computer magic and can wear the hell out of a pencil skirt
Thea is Queen of the Arrowverse, although she might have to abdicate the throne with Laurel back

Cast is looking pretty strong right now. I like everyone. Curtis just needs his moment and we're good

Wild Dog is a character I like but I feel like he's one bad decision away from being immediately hated. He's just so clearly a liability to the team.

Yeah, I think the worst thing you can say about the characters right now is that Curtis needs the most work. It's not that he can't get where he needs to be, he just needs to get there.

I think I'd honestly rather see Curtis not get his moment and "retire" back to being an Arrow-Cave only specialist. The team out in the field is getting a little bloated again especially with Thea not being afraid to suit back up

Id be okay with this. I'd rather he just make quips with Felicity instead of seeing a Mr Terrific who is constantly beaten down.

Wild Dog is definitely going to fuck stuff up regularly because he's impulsive. But I'm giving him a pass. As long as he doesn't do something as dumb as what Hawkgirl did last season in Legends, I can handle it.

Thoughts on the sidekicks:

- Artemis: While her character motivations are totally passable, I've just never really seen her do anything that makes her interesting. I was actually kind of shocked when she got brought back after her mediocre-as-hell introduction last season. Since she's a traitor, I doubt she'll be coming back once Prometheus gets dealt with.

- Wild Dog: Dude went from "meh" to one of my favorite characters on the show. It'd be really easy for his "fuck you, I'll do what I want" attitude to become grating, but the actor's charisma keeps him likable, especially now that he's more established within the team dynamic. I strongly suspect
that we'll be getting a heartbreaking episode where his child/children are killed, thus pushing him to become a vigilante
. Hope he makes it out of this season alive.

- Mr. Kinda Bad: Oh, Curtis. I actually liked him a lot as a support member for the Arrowcave, since it gives Felicity someone to bounce off of, but his turn as a member of the street team has just been poor. He needs to start using his T-Spheres immediately, because at this point, it's starting to get sad watching him get his ass kicked all the time. When nameless goons are fucking your shit up, it's time to reevaluate.

- Ragman: While I like Ragman a lot, he's just ridiculously overpowered. When he first showed up, I expected him to be an equal who Ollie would call on every now and then for help. Why would he follow someone else's orders? He could easily defeat the rest of Team Arrow. Hell, just let him fight Prometheus next time. It'll be over immediately. It's especially weird, because it's not like he's training to improve his fighting skills. He just sorta lurks around the Arrowcave until they need him. I kinda hope he gets transferred to the Legends team at some point so that he can actually face a real challenge.

I still think Ragman has a ticking clock over his head. They're totally going to have Prometheus kill the most OP guy on the team in order to establish that shit has gotten real.

I'm sure Prometheus is cooking up some anti-Ragman tech. Watch him be weak to something stupid, like sonics, where the Canary Cry device that Artemis stole last season will take his rags out.

Actually, basically, he'd be Venom, since he has a similar move set right now anyway.

I like all the sidekicks okay, but yeah, Curtis is just seriously underleveled for this shit. They need to just get him his T-spheres already.

Also, while Ragman is easily the best new Arrowverse character in ages, he's kind of got the opposite problem. He's entirely out of most of the threats' league. Once you've tanked a nuke, street criminals ain't shit, no matter how sharp their throwing stars are. Introducing a weakness could work, but honestly, moving him to Legends might be a better step.

Ragman doesn't seem OP to me because under the suit he's really not a threatening guy at all. You give Oliver powers like that and he's an unstoppable monster. You give someone like Rory or Barry superpowers, they're still kinda pussycats.

We saw in his intro that he's got an edge to him. Besides, while someone like Oliver would be even more dangerous with the suit, that's not to say that Rory isn't making good use of them already.

An edge that he basically immediately lost. The most we've since then is his him pummeling a guy for information, and that was at Artemis' behest. We saw how quickly he's prone to giving up too.

And yet, he's still capable of bodying absolutely everybody the crew has run up against as long as he's wearing the suit :p

Ragman is only in check because he has no drive. He's content to just do what Ollie tells him and spend the rest of his time making art.

Wild Dog's going to get killed.

Rag Man is going to lose the rags to Prometheus, manage to get them back, then leave Star City to learn about the magic of his rags under the tutelage of Constantine.

Shadowpact S1 |OT| It was only a matter of time before Marvel Studios poached the Supernatural guys

In the comics, the suit is weak to fire, which is coincidentally Venom's other weakness.
